The staff was friendly, the listing said they had a pool it was taken out, the listing said they had free shuttle to most attractions. They didn’t offer that anymore.

Business center is "under construction" so is fitness center, so is font of the hotel, which is missing the sign with its name on the front. An extra $20 charge for an almost empty open self-parking lot in front of the hotel seems excessive. Room and beds were clean but very basic, no frills, some of the furniture was scratched. Overall impression is that of of a sub-$100/night hotel. Nothing horrible, but not the value deal that it appeared to be online.

We had to move rooms because air conditioner broke and leaked everywhere. I’m fine with that. But the manager didn’t want to compensate anything - instead gave me a bag of a couple waters (3 guests) and some snacks - didn’t even bother to ask if myself and my son were allergic to peanuts which is what snacks we were mostly given. There is NO shuttle service as advertised on SEVERAL websites. Y’all should have that taken down. The staff themselves were just so wonderful, kind, and helpful - especially the gentleman from the kitchen staff. You are definitely charged for parking - 20$ per day, which again, the manager didn’t want to comp that either. The room was clean. The hotel is close to a gas station. The location is ok, but you have to turn right then go back up the road because that’s your only option. Overall, the kitchen staff- that guy was enough to want to stay again.

some of the rooms, smell like weed. Once very sad setback up, on the website it clearly says "Free Parking" SURPRISE, you have to pay for parking. The guy at the front desk very nice but Website needs to be updated.

Beware!!!! Within the first hour of arriving we found two German cockroaches in our hotel room. (One was on the nightstand and another in the bathroom). Breakfast was probably the worst hotel breakfast I have seen. It seemed to just “check the box”. We got to breakfast at 8:30 am and it was very sparse with no signs of refilling it. (Breakfast this day had a mini fridge with a lone yogurt & no more than 3 milks. There was also scrambled eggs, sausage links, cereal- I didn’t take any but it was not exciting.. it looked like plain Cheerios and Frosted Flakes. They also had bagels and bread, but no jellies, peanut butters, cream cheese, etc. very lackluster. Also, it’s worth mentioning they are in the middle of “construction” while they are rebranding to another hotel.. Marriott I believe. This didn’t bother me and I didn’t hold it against them in my review. I feel like it should’ve been mentioned on the site, however. I’m only mentioning it again now because beware once they transition over that there seems to be a bug infestation.

Upon check-in was greeted at the front desk, advised that I needed to pay for parking, and that it was "$20 + Tax for parking". At no point was I advised it was $20/day. As well the front desk later advised that it was "$23.60 per day",that's 18% tax, why would it charge 18% tax and not 5% like normal? As well why would their own website advertise $15+tax, yet a printed sign not advising me that it was a daily rate? Breakfast staff were extremely rude, and berrating. Advising me that I am not permitted in the breakfast area before 6 or 7am. Meanwhile I was just grabbing a coffee from the 24hour coffee/tea section. Meanwhile that's how you can access the terrace for the smoking section. Front desk said at check-in "You can smoke out front or out back, no problem, just not in the room". First morning security telling me "You are not allowed to smoke at the front" even though there was no signage, and I was far away from the door. Lastly the door keys, they NEVER WORKED. Constantly unable to access the hotel during off-peak hours, and having to try the room key 20+ times before it working, or having to go back down to front desk to have a new key programmed. Get it together, you're a beautiful hotel, with a great location, yet absolute trash staff service and behavior that is not to be expected in any Customer Service way. Hotel needs some major fix-ups before you charge people a premium and allow them to stay.

There was a lot of noise during the evening coming from the outdoor seating near the lobby. People talking and laughing all night long. Breakfast was limited and we were told on a couple of the days that they completely ran out of some items, leaving only bread w/o butter and coffee. We had difficulties with our room keys and one never worked at all. The floors in the room were pretty dirty and there were a lot of chips and cracks in the furniture and shower. The room was always made up nice and supplies replenished when we would return at night. The staff was unprofessional and unhelpful. Often spoke down and fought with guests, super unwilling to be helpful, unfortunately. The room served its purpose as just some place for us to store our luggage and rest while we explore the city, though it would’ve been nice to know we were coming back to a comfortable and quiet space to get good rest.

Lobby furniture dirty, stained, smelled like weed and cigarettes, room was extremely dirty, roaches by the sink in the room and room smelled like weed and cigarettes. Should be advertised as a motel. Bedding had stains and looked really run down.

The room was spotless.

The building is so old and they have been trying to do very awful repairs. Mirrors are stained all over. Toilet seat is so old and crappy you feel awkward seating on them. They are only $12 a piece. Night stands are not being wiped out. List goes on and on and on and on

Ants in the room, on the desk, my personal belongs and in the bed. May daughter has bug bites on her legs and back.

Room was clean. Whole hotel stunk like urine. Pretty sure there was urine in the elevator. Clerk argued that i wasn't 21 multiple times, even when she looked at my id.

The room was nice and big but many things were in poor condition. The lamp base had rust on it, when I tried to open the fridge it came out of its nook. I asked housekeeping to clean my room when I left to go out and they didn't. It took 4 tries and one room change to get keys that actually opened the door. Also they were in the process of renovating.

This room was okay, however our deadbolt did not work to lock the room.

The internet was amazing. The mattress was not comfortable at all. The lobby was just toooo hot. Breakfast was good but one lady there was trying to control the quantity in a buffet breakfast. That was too bad of her. Gym was ok. Price was good. Pls note you. Annot plug anything like game into their tV. Bad also

I have only one complaint. The property should install new windows. Noise from the street (traffic, train, etc) is loud.

Room was good, but the room was not “soundproof,” as advertised, with sirens and traffic noise penetrating the room. While the room AC was good, the hallways were not air conditioned at all and leaving the room was unpleasant. Parking is unsecured and liability for damage explicitly denied in a neighborhood that does not look great. Not terrible, but could be much better, even at this price point.

The room was spacious with comfortable beds. The front desk and staff were nice and professional. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Staff is always amazing

The hotel was beautiful and well-maintained, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, upon arrival, we encountered an unexpected $700 charge on our card despite having already paid in full. A few days into our stay, we were charged an additional $300 with no explanation. When we inquired at the front desk, they were unable to provide any information. Another traveler in our group also faced an unexplained charge of over $300. While we were assured that these charges would eventually be reversed—and most of them were—the experience caused unnecessary stress and put a damper on our trip. The manager, however, was incredibly helpful throughout the ordeal and truly salvaged our stay.

We started by being impressed with Wanda during check in. Our room was comfortable and clean. Any interaction with the staff was impressive. All of them were courteous, helpful and polite. This was by far our best hotel experience in years. Very impressed with this property and the staff here.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The front desk staff were unfriendly and unhelpful throughout our stay. Our keycards stopped working every single time we left the room, and when we asked for them to be reactivated, the receptionists gave us attitude—as if it was our fault that all three keys constantly malfunctioned. It felt like basic hospitality was missing, and we were made to feel like a burden for needing access to our own room.

Room was clean and workable. Checking in was a nightmare. First room given was already occupied and I walked in on a couple. Second room was not what I’d reserved. About 45 minutes into arriving at the hotel, I got my room. Scary how they don’t know what rooms are occupied or king/double queen. Certainly worried about security of the joint when they give me keys to an occupied room.

The front desk held $445 on my account even though my room was paid in full before I got there. This hold was for three days, then after they fixed that they held $100 for incidentals. When I got there the front desk girl told me there would be no hold, they just needed my card on file as protocol for damages. I checked out today and the rep could not fix my account, she told me to wait for tomorrow……Very poor customer service… do not recommend. The room was ok, the area sketchy….

I booked two nights at this hotel but told the front desk manager at check-in that I would only stay one night because many attractions in Washington, D.C. were closed that weekend and the surroundings of the hotel felt less safe and convenient than expected. The manager kindly agreed to adjust my stay and even asked me to sign a form confirming the change. I appreciated his understanding and believed everything was properly handled. However, I was still charged for two nights. When I later contacted Hotels.com, they were very helpful and tried several times to reach the property, but the hotel refused to acknowledge the agreement. It’s disappointing that the hotel did not honor what was agreed upon at the front desk. I hope management improves communication and billing transparency so that future guests won’t experience the same issue.

Easy access to buses. Clean room. Great service.

The staff was extremely friendly, kind and helpful, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet but it was too far from downtown (most times a 20 to 30 minute drive), the neighborhood was a bit sketchy and there were no decent restaurants or grocery stores close by.

Breakfast the first day had a person who shouldn’t have been there who could have had a little better hygiene. Food was left uncovered so it was cold on the top. Otherwise the room was clean and comfy. Water pressure was perfect. Neighborhood was a little noisy but I expect that from DC (sirens at night). Hotel is a little far from all the historic stuff so we Ubered every day an it was $15 - $20ish each time. Hotel staff friendly. Plenty of food. Comfy beds. Safe building. Clean room. Would stay again.

Sean in the breakfast area was fantastic! It’s a shame not all staff were as friendly and accommodating. The main reception were more interested in their personal phones than the customers at the desk/ The area is rough, only a checkers and McDonald’s to eat at. The bus service is accessible but hugely inconvenient as then you have to catch the metro too. Washington itself is a good 30min drive away from this location. Don’t go outside at night in your own, it’s a scary part of town. I would recommend this hotel for a family

Website says there is a shuttle to the Capitol building. Upon inquiring, the front desk clerk informed us that that was old and the site hadn't been updated since they were previously under a different name. The area was also very noisy! There is a police station nearby, and the area clearly gets a lot of attention! Between honking and sirens, it was hard to get much rest.

We had a bad experience during our stay. The hotel was undergoing renovations and we weren't notified in advance. Breakfast was very limited in terms of options. The hotel's location is far from the city's main attractions. The below-average price doesn't compensate.

We had a great stay for a great price and the parking was very reasonable. The front desk staff was so nice to us and answered all our questions. They even let us check in a little early which was very helpful. It was easy to Uber to the places we wanted to go. If you’re looking for a luxury place this is not it but if you’re looking for a clean, reasonable place to stay this is it. I wouldn’t go out walking around in the immediate vicinity but the hotel is a good place to stay.

This is a great hotel. however, if you are coming to DC for the national museums, be aware that it is not close to the National Mall. There is a Metro bus stop close to the hotel and the the Metro system is very reliable. Just be aware that you will spend a significant amount of time traveling to and from this hotel to your destination.

Staff was excellent! Location was a bit farther from the tourist sights than it seemed on the map.

The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was really good. Parking was convenient but seriously overpriced. It’s a long ways into the city if you are in DC to see the sights. The location did not feel safe to walk around off of the property.

It was a nice hotel and it was clean, but the biggest downside for us was the surrounding neighborhood. There just wasn’t anything worthwhile walking distance and just not a great area to be walking around.

Staff are all great. Especially Sean who does the breakfast. Very courteous and attentive.

Overall a good stay. Check in was a little long due to new employee but ok. Room was clean. I didn’t like the breakfast at all. Just wasn’t eatable to me and my friends.

The hotel was under construction, which was not advertised when booked. The breakfast bar was not as advertised. They ran out of muffins, and some of the other items that were advertised were not there at all..

Breakfast was limited and no milk both days for cereal. The breakfast attendant was rude and nasty.

Breakfast “buffet” was not a buffet. It was just eggs sausage and toast or a bagel. No griddle foods like waffles or pancakes. Only 2/4 parts of the four slice toaster worked. There’s no coffee maker and complimentary tea/coffee in the rooms. The shower curtain is too small for the shower so water gets all over the floor. Front desk service was lackluster. And you have to pay for parking. I’m not a fan of any hotel where you have to pay to park there.
