Great staff and the main pool was the main attraction. We were a group of 20 people staying in a mix of 2 bed apartments. All the rooms were good, clean and had everything you needed. We didnt need to fight for loungera in the morning but most people were quite quick to place towels. Some of the pool area had tiles that could do we replacing and some of the bridges needed attention. The Cool Bar by the pool was great for drinks, ice creams etc. The breakfast was always good, attentive staff. They offered various eggs too but no sign to say that so found out by seeing other peoples food. The nearby town of Carvoiero was great to visit too. Easy to get around in cabs and Ubers.

This resort has great bones. It has the potential to be great and, I think, was once, not long ago. It’s let down by the condition of the rooms/apartments. The location is good, it’s possible to walk to a few restaurants and Carvoeiro is within striking distance. Our apartment was a good size, but just needed some maintenance and updating. The dishwasher didn’t wash dishes properly. The rail on the balcony was warped, “splintery” and needed painting/staining. The fittings in the bathroom were, in some cases, missing or broken. The mats in the gym are worn thin, the floor of the gym is stained and damaged. The TV service was good in terms of choice of channel, signal was patchy though and could benefit from providing access to Netflix, Prime etc. Would I go back? Yes, right after a renovation.

We really enjoyed our stay at Monte Santo and would happily return. Our room didn’t have enough blankets or towels and when they were replaced they often weren’t replaced equally (no bath mat after cleaning, missing face clothes). Otherwise, it was a great stay

Har vært mye i dette området. Dette har 5 stjerner det må være sol bleket disse stjerner. Litt slitt hotell. Renhold elendig var kakerlakker på rommet som dukket opp etter en dag, var i resepsjonen og sa i fra da ble det litt sure faktisk. renholder dårlig var flekker over alt. Ble heller ikke bedre. Hadde litt troen på dette hotellet men veldig skuffet. Men er mange andre fine plasser i dette området som faktisk holder stjerne standaren. Legger ved bilde av litt udyr og flekker.

On the first night of arrival we informed reception at 8pm there was a problem with ants in one of the bedrooms when we were leaving to go out for dinner, on our return at 12am nothing had being done about same only for the ants to have completely covered the beds, it took over 3 hours to get the matter resolved and moved to another room/villa. I note from reviewing previous comments another traveller had a similar problem in July 2023. Breakfast was poor and limited chose for what you would expect from a 5 star resort. Staff appeared to be indifferent to customers needs

The breakfast was really good with lots of options such as fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and coffee. The gym was good however it only opened at 9am which wasn't convenient if wanting to do exercise in the morning before breakfast as breakfast buffet closed at 10am. We stayed in a suite and it was really spacious with a nice outdoor area.

The location is perfect, but for a five star resort unfortunately it falls short especially in the properties. We stayed in a two bedroom Town House which on arrival looked fantastic, but soon noticed the poor condition internally. The living room had several loose floor tiles large chunks of plaster missing from walls and the skirting boards in an awful condition. The handrails for the stairs was a worry though they had definitely been coming away from the wall at some point and silicon had been used to try and hold the rail in place which wasn't working and clearly this is something they should address for safety purposes. Jacuzzi in each bathroom didn't work shower fixings broken or missing in each bathroom. Main bedroom balcony patio door lock was broken and the outside light didn't work.

Unfortunately we had a number of maintenance issues , lots of broken things in the 2 bed townhouse air conditioning after a number of attempts could not be fixed , door was Broken , button to flush toilet and more they definitely need to be maintained better . Staff are great it’s a lovely resort but I can’t say it’s 5 star due to those issues I would say 4 stars and unfortunately won’t return .

We loved it at Montesanto, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, we were there to celebrate my husband 50th birthday and they surprised him with a bottle of wine and cake. The facilities are very accessible for someone with difficulty with mobility for example, lift to the restaurant and pool and walkable paths around the property. We are definitely coming back!

This is a nice property that is convenient for families that want an apartment and kitchen but some of the hotel facilities issue we had was with the check-in team. They were not helpful at all and even though there were properties available as it was not fully occupied we had to wait until 4 o’clock to get our room on our first day even though we arrived at 11 am we were offered anywhere to change which was not ideal with children after a flight. Breakfast staff are friendly. Housekeeping was a bit hidden miss sometimes shower gel and towels would be replaced and sometimes not. We had an issue with our dryer, which was the only option to dry clothes after they had been washed. We did report this but it was not fixed.

Our stay at Monte Santo Resort started well but quickly turned into a series of frustrations. Upon arrival at our 3-bedroom villa, we found an external door that was unable to be locked and none of the phones working. Reporting these issues to reception was futile, as the phones were apparently on back-order – a claim I found hard to believe. The pool area was another disappointment. Despite a policy against reserving sunbeds with towels, this was ignored, making it impossible to find a sunbed during peak hours unless you joined in the same practice. The villa had significant maintenance issues. Two bathrooms had baths that wouldn’t drain, and the third lacked a plug entirely. Maintenance eventually fixed the drains, explaining parts were missing – a baffling oversight. The worst issue came two days before checkout when a plumbing leak caused the downstairs bathroom ceiling to collapse, leaving two bathrooms unusable. Despite reporting this early, the response was slow, and a villa change was only offered late in the day, which was impractical as we were attending a wedding. Other issues, like loose bannisters, added to the disappointment. Overall, Monte Santo Resort fails to meet 5-star expectations. Poor maintenance, lack of attention to detail, and inadequate handling of issues made this a stay we wouldn’t recommend or repeat.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Portugal. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and especially great with the kids, which made a huge difference for us. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The space was clean, well-equipped, and perfect for our family. The breakfast offered a great selection each morning – something for everyone – and really set us up for the day. But honestly, the highlight for the kids was the pool area. Sejour agréable. Petit bemol sur le check in. Nous avions appele en amont pour prevenir que nous arriverions tot , on nous a indiqué que si la chambre nest pas encore prete nous pourrions au moins utiliser les équipements de l'hôtel (piscine et autres). Cependant quand nous sommes arrivés on nous a informé que l'on ne pouvait pas prendre les serviettes tant que le check in n'a pas été fait. Par ailleurs , aucune bouteille d'eau de bienvenue alors qu'il y avait une pancarte indiquant qu'on aurait de l'eau . Pour un 5* , on s'attend à un service de meilleure qualité.

Sehr sauber, tolle Poolanlage, Indoor Pool beheizt, sehr schöne weitläufige Anlage. Im Restaurant ist die Speiseauswahl sehr begrenzt und für das was geboten wird zu teuer. In den Restaurants außerhalb ist man besser aufgehoben.

Etablissement tres propre et espaces verts tres bien entretenus. La demi pension décevante avec peu de variétés et de choix dans les plats, rapport qualité/prix élevé et petit dejeuner au nescafé! Par contre serveurs très agréables! Le SPA fermé alors que des soins avaient été réservés. A l'accueil peu de communication, donc plutôt décevant par rapport à ce qui était annoncé.
