Small, prívate, quite place with excellent access to beach. No swimming pool. Small restaurant and bar at the property with excellent menu and service. Very enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Staff was great. Restaurant only has about 4 tables. Food was great. Beach area is extremely small. If you’re looking to relax by the beach hope that no one else is there, other wise you’ll have to go someplace else because there’s no space. All beach chairs are made of wood, which makes it very painful after 10 minutes of laying down. Beds are really comfortable. Location is great since it is walking distance to every restaurant. Only about 10-12 minutes walking from the ferry pier, if you do not have big or heavy luggage. Orherwise, you’ll need to take a taxi because the sidewalks are practically nonexistent and make it very hard to walk with luggage.

We loved our room with ocean view deck. Great staff and very beautiful property. The restaurant was a great feature that provided beach service too. Long walks on the beach. Great location. Loved Holbox!

Nice hotel on the beachfront and well located vis-a-vis rstaurants. Internet service was good. The staff is nice and friendly, in particular in the restaurant. The only negative point I could make is regarding the restaurant which closes around 6 or 6:30 pm, whoch means no possibilities to have dinner.

Das Hotel liegt perfekt! Zentral am Ort und direkt am Strand. Der Strand ist zwar privat aber leider sehr klein. Insbesondere bei Flut ist da sehr wenig Platz. Auch gibt es (zu) wenig Sonnenschirme und somit wenig Schatten. Einen Pool gibt es auch nicht. Und leider auch keine Strand- oder Fuß-Dusche, so dass man immer Sand mit in die Flure und das Zimmer trägt. Die Flure werden allerdings ständig gekehrt, so dass es immer sauber ist. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, gut eingerichtet und sauber. Klimaanlage und Deckenventilator haben prima funktioniert. Ebenso die Dusche. Die Flure sind im Freien (überdacht). Vor unserem Zimmer hatten wir einen privaten Flur mit Tisch, Stühlen und Hängematte. Und mit Blick auf das Meer und abends auf den Sonnenuntergang. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert!

I had a nice stay at La Palapa. The food here is delicious! I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were yummy as well. I loved how close it was to all the restaurants/bars and the town center. Very convenient. They didn’t have as much shade as I’d like. You need to be up extra early to grab lounge chairs with tiki coverage. Aside from that, great place to stay! Thanks to everyone at La Palapa!

The Beachfront Hotel La Palapa was very well maintained and all the staff was awesome and friendly, from the reception to the bar and restaurant all provided excellent attentiveness and customer service. The rooms are well maintained, clean, and quaint. Don’t expect five star amenities in the rooms (although a TV would have been nice for nights when you don’t feel like going out or when it rains) but what they do provide suffices, after all you are there for the beaches and to relax in the sun. Chefs put together a small but very delicious menu, one could tell they put pride in what they do because it all looked and tasted awesome! My only suggestion is that they put in an ice machine that one could use for a small cooler or to make drinks in your room to chill in the balcony hammock. Especially since the bar closes around 930 pm. Little shops very near by only sell 5 lbs. bags which are too big and go to waste. Overall kudos to all!!

We had an excellent stay at La Palapa. Hotel is right on the beach in a great location. It is just on the edge of the main beach so you don't get lots of noise but it is only 2 mins walk away to the beachside bars and main town restaurants. Rooms are lovely. The beach is raked daily to ensure it is free of seaweed. Breakfast was delicious as well. Communication with the hotel is excellent over whatsapp too. Very happy with our stay.

La Palapa has a good location and it’s very quiet if you enjoy quiet . Unfortunately, the beach area is an eye and nose sore of sargassum. It is extremely damp and smelly preventing anyone from enjoying the restaurant or any lounging . It’s best to walk over to other beach clubs $$$ … the hotel staff tries to clean the sargassum daily but it’s never fully ok for views or to swim through. I would NOT stay here again . There are so many better options. The hotel staff will play it off as it’s seasonal but it’s simply not .. they are in a nook that is surrounded by piers, jetties and/or rocks, making the sargassum problem inevitable. I felt really bad for the guys trying to keep it clean bc it’s endless.

This is a great hotel. It is closer to the sea than any other hotel so the beach views and experiences are superb. The grounds are kept extremely clean and the sand is swept and any beach debris is removed daily. The staff is very friendly and helpful in organizing trips and taxis. The bar and restaurant have very good food and drinks with reasonable prices. Our room was clean, well furnished and had a great ocean view. We will stay here again when we return to Holbox

The ocean view from the room is exceptional and the in-room hammock is lovely. The bar/restaurant employees were incredibly friendly and took great care of us. However, the beach was disappointing. There was glass from broken bottles, broken floor tiles, large rocks, and other debris on the shoreline. Once you get past that, the beach sand is soft and smooth. Sleeping was a struggle. While ear plugs were provided, the bass from surrounding nightclubs was challenging to drown out. If you’re looking for a room with a view at a great price, try it out.

The hotel is pretty and they try to keep it clean. The included breakfast is nice. There is no beach and the smell from the water was horrible. They try to hide it with incense but it's really strong. The location is great but just don't plan on spending the day at the beach.

We just got back from our stay. Let me say this place is amazing! The staff was top notch. The breakfast is fantastic and the rooms are always clean and stocked. We will be back

The hotel itself was nice. However, the area around it has lots of construction that made it smell like sewage most of the time, due to the construction it was also really noisy and there was lots of garbage on the street. The water can be cloudy at times but 5min walk away from the hotel the beach is really nice, which is where we ended up spending most of our time. The staff was really attentive and happy to recommend places to go.

What an amazing place to stay. The staff are excellent. Especially the restaurant and bar team who are incredibly warm and welcoming all the time. Breakfast choice were fantastic and delicious breakfast juice choices too! The reception staff were also on hand to answer all the questions. The rooms were very comfortable with excellent views of the sea. Great location too. I wish we were still there!

I would have given this resort 5 stars but while it’s location to night life is excellent, the resorts soundproofing is awful and getting to sleep after midnight is almost impossible even with the supplied ear plugs until after the nightlife ends which was 3am every night we were there. This alone will prevent me from returning unless they invest in double glazed glass windows and soundproofing doors

It’s conveniently located on the beach, but there are many other hotels that are located on the beach. It’s clean and the staff is pleasant. Free breakfast is a big plus, since it’s really good. We were surprised that the room we were initially given had no AC and no balcony. The staff graciously agreed to transfer us to the second floor to the room that had a balcony and AC. Just prepared to see the substandard aspects of it: chipped counters, broken stair treads, etc., Overall it was an ok stay

The resort is right on the beach. The staff is excellent, and the breakfast was very good. The low tides tended to make the beach a little mucky, but it is hard to help that. The staff did their best to ensure it was clean. The rooms are a little dated but adequate. The transportation that we opted for to and from the airport was very good.

Beachfront view was amazing. It’s close enough to walk to all types of attractions but not too busy. The rooms are nice size, but TV is very small and very dated. Didn’t travel there for the room amenities so it wasn’t a problem, but worth mentioning.

This is a great beach location convenient to everything. The grounds were impecable with comfortable lounge chairs on the beach and inviting room porches facing the ocean. Very helpful, smart and friendly staff. Comfortable bedding. The rooms could use a dresser, however, there was insufficient options to keep clothes, etc. Stored and organized.

I was disappointed in the quality of the rooms and conditions. Granted, there were some problems with infastructure on the island when we were there, but the toilets wouldn't flush and the urgency of the hotel to correct this problem was lackluster. I had to ask multiple times for a worker to come fix broken toilets before they came. I felt like the overall energy level of the staff was lacking. People watching youtube at the front desk when my toilet keeps breaking and then not responding. The condition of the property was good and breakfast was nice.

Vi havde et afslappende ophold på hotellet, der har sin egen lille strand (kun delvis sol) og morgenmadsrestaurant. Personalet var meget venlige og gjorde opholdet til en fornøjelse. Værelset er en smule lydt, men hotellet havde ørepropper. Eneste minus er, at selvom der er egne solstole og strand, er det meget begrænset med sol, og vi måtte derfor finde andre steder at leje solstole.
Vi havde et afslappende ophold på hotellet, der har sin egen lille strand (kun delvis sol) og morgenmadsrestaurant. Personalet var meget venlige og gjorde opholdet til en fornøjelse. Værelset er en smule lydt, men hotellet havde ørepropper. Eneste minus er, at selvom der er egne solstole og strand, er det meget begrænset med sol, og vi måtte derfor finde andre steder at leje solstole.

Love La Palapa, it’s great place to relax, enjoy the beautiful water and sun. The staff was super friendly and check in was easy. The room is perfect, no TV, A/C works awesome and the room has a balcony facing the water. On the balcony you will find a hammock and table perfect for chillin. The beach is a little rough from the shells. The temp of the water is perfect, if you walk off the property you will find tons of options for food and clubs. I would stay here again.

What an amazing place to stay. The staff are excellent. Especially the restaurant and bar team who are incredibly warm and welcoming all the time. Breakfast choice were fantastic and delicious breakfast juice choices too! The reception staff were also on hand to answer all the questions. The rooms were very comfortable with excellent views of the sea. Great location too. I wish we were still there!

Perfect location on the beach. You can watch pelicans dive bombing for fish all day long. Sunsets are amazing. Included breakfast is very tasty. Staff is friendly and accommodating. There are a couple of good restaurants nearby within easy walking distance. We did have some confusion around payment. The resort sent us an Expedia message (and email) that said the 1st night would be charged to our credit card. I trusted this was correct but when we arrived we were charged for the 1st night at the check in desk. I used my online banking app to double check that I wasn't being double charged. I wasn't so it all worked out. I recommend the resort take this statement out of their pre check in communication if they are not going to do it. Other than that it was a wonderful stay.

I booked a shuttle through the hotel. When I got to the meeting spot there was nobody there. I tried calling the hotel and no answer. They told me that the driver contacted me through WhatsApp! They never told me that is the way they would need to contact me! I got another taxi and when I got to the hotel they informed me that I needed to pay for the other taxi. I paid $400 to get to the hotel. The manager talked to me like a little kid and when I refused to pay another co-worker jumped into the conversation and then the maid jumped into the conversation to get the money! I finally said if I don't have to talk to you anymore I will give you the money! They were satisfied and went back to puffing on their vaporizer cigarettes!!! Don't get a shuttle with them! I cancelled my taxi back to the airport and got a shuttle back which was way cheaper! Other than that the hotel was great and wait staff at the restaurant was very professional and friendly!!!

The cleaning lady cleaned out all the cash and valuables from our room. Management had no interest in finding out what happened and instead belligerently pointed me to a waiver I signed at check-in absolving them of responsiblity for theft. It should also be noted that, interestingly, they encourage guests to bring cash because "almost nowhere on the island accepts credit cards", however virtually every place on the island accepts credit cards. Hmmmm. We lost hot water for one of our 4 days. The beach isn\'t a beach, it\'s completely taken over by the ocean, there is no sand left and the daybeds are submerged in water half the time. Also, there are way too few of them to accomodate hotel guests.

We had an excellent stay at La Palapa. Hotel is right on the beach in a great location. It is just on the edge of the main beach so you don't get lots of noise but it is only 2 mins walk away to the beachside bars and main town restaurants. Rooms are lovely. The beach is raked daily to ensure it is free of seaweed. Breakfast was delicious as well. Communication with the hotel is excellent over whatsapp too. Very happy with our stay.

The hotel is next to the beach and the views were amazing from our room. Friendly staff, very helpful every time we reached at them. Included breakfast was great and the hotel location is perfect, easy walk distance to all the restaurants, shops and bars in the town centre. I highly recommend it

This is a very nice property. It is centrally located. The beach is small and there was a lot of what it seemed to be sea weed . So we were not able to enjoy the private beach. We went to a public one close by and it was pretty nice.

You really can't find a much better property location wise... This is right in the center of "town", right on the beach, and right next to plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. The property itself is a little older, but timeless and clean. Make sure that you get a room with a window facing the ocean, it was great to fall asleep with the waves crashing against the shore. The staff was great. They let us hold our bags in their office while we waited for the room to be ready, and you get a welcome drink that is either a fresh daily juice or a Beer... The restaurant RIGHT next door (away from the beach) has some great Aguachiles, highly recommend.

The hotel itself was nice. However, the area around it has lots of construction that made it smell like sewage most of the time, due to the construction it was also really noisy and there was lots of garbage on the street. The water can be cloudy at times but 5min walk away from the hotel the beach is really nice, which is where we ended up spending most of our time. The staff was really attentive and happy to recommend places to go.

Nice hotel on the beachfront and well located vis-a-vis rstaurants. Internet service was good. The staff is nice and friendly, in particular in the restaurant. The only negative point I could make is regarding the restaurant which closes around 6 or 6:30 pm, whoch means no possibilities to have dinner.

Love the location and the staff. The property is a little old and rundown. A/C won’t run cold, beds are new but as hard as concrete. Breakfast was horrible and most people didn’t even eat it so the fruit bowl is a must.

I had a nice stay at La Palapa. The food here is delicious! I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were yummy as well. I loved how close it was to all the restaurants/bars and the town center. Very convenient. They didn’t have as much shade as I’d like. You need to be up extra early to grab lounge chairs with tiki coverage. Aside from that, great place to stay! Thanks to everyone at La Palapa!

The Beachfront Hotel La Palapa was very well maintained and all the staff was awesome and friendly, from the reception to the bar and restaurant all provided excellent attentiveness and customer service. The rooms are well maintained, clean, and quaint. Don’t expect five star amenities in the rooms (although a TV would have been nice for nights when you don’t feel like going out or when it rains) but what they do provide suffices, after all you are there for the beaches and to relax in the sun. Chefs put together a small but very delicious menu, one could tell they put pride in what they do because it all looked and tasted awesome! My only suggestion is that they put in an ice machine that one could use for a small cooler or to make drinks in your room to chill in the balcony hammock. Especially since the bar closes around 930 pm. Little shops very near by only sell 5 lbs. bags which are too big and go to waste. Overall kudos to all!!

Les photos de l’hôtel montrent un endroit paradisiaque mais la plage devant est pleine d’algues avec l’odeur d’œuf pourri et les chambres sont vraiment d’un style vieillot. Le petit déjeuner est le plus cher que nous ayons eu au Mexique et le moins bon. Je déconseille cet hôtel .

This Hotel is located on the right spot for my expectations. Near the center of the main island spot. But still able to enjoy a good night sleep without any external noise. It's right in front of the beach. My room was on the first floor and I was still able to see the beach, not fully, due to the Palapa's setup in front of my room. Although, it was a nice view. The breakfast, which was included, was great. The Chef's food taste amazing. I will recommend this Hotel to my family and friend's.
