We were met by the nice lady, who works at the restaurant, from Denmark. Free parking; delicious breakfast; rooms are clean and but very outdated; the pillows need to be changed as they are very soft and worn out. Very convenient location.

Great location. Family owned who work very hard to please everyone. Our room was big, quiet and had a terrific view. Bathroom was dated but everything worked well. Free breakfast was very nice. Good food and bar.

You're in Lauterbrunnen for the scenic views and the hiking, and if you're doing it right - you shouldn't be hanging around in your room too much! That being said, this hotel is extremely outdated. I was a little taken aback at how old the carpet, bathroom fittings and furnishings are. I paid $350 CHF (close to $700 AUD) for one night, and to be honest, I expected more. This is bare bones, no-frills accommodation. The room was musty, so I left the balcony doors open all night (and I'm not usually sensitive to smells). The bathroom is insanely tiny, you can't open the door more than halfway before it hits the toilet. The shower was straight-up 1970s. There is no lift (understandable, this is an old property in a little Swiss mountain town!), but after long travel days - pulling my 30kg suitcase up 4 flights of stairs was a complete struggle. All in all, I had a good stay, I slept well, and I appreciated the location and beautiful view - but I would pick a different property for next time unless they commit to a serious renovation.

Understanding the wonderful and unique location it is ok to charge a bit more, but honestly the price was very high. The hotel should offer better room facilities and service. The carpet and bathroom smelled old or humid. The restaurant was close so dinner options were limited. Parking in site for an extra fee was a plus.

This is truly a 2-star hotel with virtually no amenities — no tea, coffee, or basic comforts in the room. The balcony is shared across the entire floor, meaning other guests can walk directly outside your room, which felt intrusive. Unfortunately, some very noisy guests lingered on the balcony for long periods, disrupting the stay. The restaurant was a big letdown. Breathtaking location. Perfect for exploring Lauterbrunnen. The view from the balcony will stay with me forever! Clean, comfortable, although there’s no elevator for anyone who might struggle with their luggage, and the bathroom was a little old and small. The location more than made up for any small shortcomings.

Ich habe mich in dem Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt :-) Der Service war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das angebotene Menü im Restaurant oben war auch sehr lecker. Zum Frühstück gab es alles, was das Herz nur begehrt und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und ordentlich. Auch Parkplätze gab es genug und die Anbindung zur Bahn oder zum Bus war super. Für den günstigen Preis mehr als perfekt für mich. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen und werde bei einem weiteren Besuch in Lauterbrunnen wieder das Hotel buchen!

Amazing location and an even better price. I had a single room and it was very small, but it was clean, everything worked and I had an incredible view out my window. The other reviews that mention flies at breakfast aren't wrong, but this is a dairy region. There are flies all over. It isn't a disaster, but if this is going to wreck your trip maybe stay in Interlaken.

Close to everything! Convenient to the Falls, WENGEN, GRINDELWALD, MT. SCHILTHORN etc. Friendly, helpful staff especially Linda. Very good breakfast and coffee ! Room was cleaned daily, and towels were changed. Would come back and stay here again !

The property was very nice and clean..location was perfect..the view from our room was absolutely stunning. The front desk ladies were amazingly kind and helpful and very patient and friendly answered any questions about the area a food recommendation.

Excellent breakfast and restaurant is also very good with excellent menu and nice roadside patio seating. Property is right by the water fall, but it needs total renovation, you can hear people talking upstairs or next room, price is high compared to places we stayed around the area, charged 75 francs for rollaway bed !!!

We stayed for 2 nights in October. Hotel is a short walk from train and is centrally located. Our room was a corner room with a balcony overlooking the street, and the waterfalls were literally a stone's throw away. The view over the countryside was lovely. The room was a bit dated, and on the small side, but the washroom - I laughed out loud at how small it was. You could barely get inside the room and close the door behind yourself. Not a deal-breaker, but be warned. For the price that we paid to stay here, I honestly did expect a bit better of a room, but in all honesty, I'm not in Switzerland to stay in my room.

Was a bit disappointed to be put in a different building from the one advertised, which didn’t have the same appeal and coziness as the pictures for the advertised rooms. The staff we friendly and plenty of choice at breakfast.

Close to everything! Convenient to the Falls, WENGEN, GRINDELWALD, MT. SCHILTHORN etc. Friendly, helpful staff especially Linda. Very good breakfast and coffee ! Room was cleaned daily, and towels were changed. Would come back and stay here again !

The Hotel Oberland was the perfect place to stay in Lauterbrunnen. We stayed here on the recommendation of Rick Steves and it was perfect for our three days. We stayed across the street in like a mini apartment down the steps towards the back of the building. We had plenty of space with 2 beds, a kitchenette, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. The Coop grocery was a 5 minute walk down the road if we needed anything. The room was extremely clean, warm and plenty of space to move around. The women at the reception desk, especially Milka and Sundra were great. They spoke English very well and were helpful with any question we had about transportation and recommendations on what to eat or how we should spend some of our days in the city. They were both amazing. It was extremely helpful that our hotel had breakfast everyday for all the guests. They had a selection of fruit, cold meats and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, a delicious bread assortment, cereals, porridge and an amazing coffee maker. I would stay here again if I was in the area. You are close to the bus station and a nice 40 minute easy walk to Trummelbach Falls and right down the street from Staubbach Falls. You are truly right in the middle of everything and you can hear the bells from the cows which is such a serene experience in itself.

Excellent breakfast and restaurant is also very good with excellent menu and nice roadside patio seating. Amazing location and an even better price. I had a single room and it was very small, but it was clean, everything worked and I had an incredible view out my window. The other reviews that mention flies at breakfast aren't wrong, but this is a dairy region. There are flies all over. It isn't a disaster, but if this is going to wreck your trip maybe stay in Interlaken.

Understanding the wonderful and unique location it is ok to charge a bit more, but honestly the price was very high. The hotel should offer better room facilities and service. The carpet and bathroom smelled old or humid. The restaurant was close so dinner options were limited. Parking in site for an extra fee was a plus.

This is truly a 2-star hotel with virtually no amenities — no tea, coffee, or basic comforts in the room. The balcony is shared across the entire floor, meaning other guests can walk directly outside your room, which felt intrusive. Excellent location. Staff were friendly and helpful. No Elevators. Views from our room were Epic. Rooms had thin walls and ceilings, we could hear the people above us walking around and it sounded like Elephants.
