The hotel in general was good but very badly designed when it comes to the pool and solarium area as the pool is in the shade almost all off the time and the sun deck is shaded most of the time. The areas are blocked by the Melia hotels own building due to the design of the structure.

On our last day in Alicante our kids had a BIG wish. A hotel with a pool. As parents we build anticipation and they were really excited. When we got to the pool it was closed due to a wedding. The kids were very disappointed, cried and felt their day had be ruined. Spotted many disappointed guests that also hadn’t been informed. * In general the hotel and staff were nice. We wanted a hotel with a pool and didn’t get that so I won’t be choosing this hotel again as I can’t be guaranteed the pool will be open.

Hotel is lovely. Spotlessly clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful and food and drinks were good. Only negative was that there is nowhere near enough room at the pool/terrace during peak season. Sunbeds are at a premium and despite being told pool opened at 10, we found most sunbeds had towels on them by around 0830. Very lax in keeping to the rule of minimum of half hour to reserve a bed. There were beds with towels and no people for hours every day.

Mkt fint hotell med bra läge i Alicante. Under högsäsong stora problem att få en solstol. Vidare är servicen vid barnestäälningar och i restaurang vid poolen mkt långsam och saker missas. Har varit här flera ggr och brukar vara likadant varje gång. Men själva hotellet är så fräscht och fint med fantastisk frukost, bra gym och bra läge för att utforska Alicante.

Pool & Sundeck • HORRENDOUS. Like a war zone. Sunbeds packed together like sardines zero space to move • People leave towels to "reserve" beds, then disappear for hours • They have some system? It absolutely doesn't work. No staff checking anything on one full side of the area • One half has a pool and lounge beds, the other side only beds and chaos • 4 umbrellas for 70 beds. Not enough shade, and many umbrellas don’t even work. • We saw guests arguing over umbrellas. One family left for a short swim — came back and their umbrella was taken • Towels are rough and overused • Very loud music at the pool • Small biting bugs/fleas on your skin — painful • Many pigeons everywhere, especially near the showers. They poop on everything Hotel & Room • Only one small bottle of water for the entire stay, even for two guests • Elevator broke and took ages to fix • Air conditioning not working on all floors • Room was cleaned well the first 2 days, then slacked off. Only 1 towel set for 2 people. No tissues for 2 days until I asked. Extra towels were never delivered • Level upgrade? Not worth it. Pool still overcrowded. Free drinks/snacks, yes, but still no space and same issues Check-in: • Check-in 4PM, and until then, you can’t use the pool, get a towel, or even go to the toilet without asking at reception. Early flight? Too bad — no hotel facilities until 4PM • Reception was very rude about the fact I booked via Expedia. • Tried multiple times to add my Melia account — they refuse

Hotellet og værelset virkede slidt og manglede noget renovering. Vores badekar var beskidt, der blev ikke støvsuget eller vasket gulv hele den uge vi var der. Når vi var i bad, løb der vand ud på gulvet fra et hul i afløbet. En elinstallation faldt ud af væggen. Internettet fungerede ikke på rummet. Alt i alt ikke en specielt god oplevelse.

We were very happy with our stay, and would love to go back again soon. The housekeeping was very thoughtful but every other day the shower drain would get clogged and the water almost spilled from the tray (the floor outside was also very wet) I don’t enjoy having my feet dipped in shower grey water, and its not hygienic. I would like to advise that the housekeeping routine include daily shower / bath drainage cleaning as well. Other than that the stay was very pleasant.

Not a great stay, slow check in on arrival. Concierge good and helpful. The hotel stinks of this perfume throughout like a car air freshener, even in the rooms it’s really unpleasant. Rooms ok, air conditioning is not that cold. The beds are comfy and rooms clean. Family swimming pool was rather hideous although my kids liked it, it’s not very clear or clean, bits and lots of hair in the water as you swim, really cringey. The outdoor pool areas looked dirty, loads of discarded glasses and bottles under each sun lounger. Barceló hotels so much better. Sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

L’hôtel est idéalement situé pour sortir à pieds en ville et à la plage. Pour info, hôtel.com indique 2 piscines mais 1 seule est accessible. Celle du roof est privée et réservée aux clients Level. Notre chambre Premium était une ancienne chambre avec douche cabine, bidet et déco passée… Notre ami lui a eu la bonne gamme de chambre qui n’a rien à voir en confort !! Donc demander les chambres rénovées Un gros problème de propreté et de service nous a fortement déçu: il ne mérite pas un 4 étoiles. Le coin piscine et solarium ne sont jamais nettoyés ni débarrassés. Nous avons déjeuné sur un mange debout à 13h à la piscine et qui a été débarrassé que le soir à 18h à la fermeture … De ce fait, les pigeons volent dans les assiettes vides et envahissent les lieux … Le lendemain matin nous retrouvons 2 tables de la veille encore encombrées… bref! Un manque de personnel, de ce fait, nous devons patienter très longtemps, et courir après le seul serveur pour passer commande. Le bar piscine, pareil… Ils sont débordé et on attend pas moins de 25 minutes pour 1 soda. Le ménage en chambre n’est pas plus satisfaisant. Et le Room service était débordé… ils ont oublié 2 fois notre commande donc 1h10 pour une ceasar salade. Il y avait un mariage ce samedi soir, de ce fait, nous avons dû quitter la piscine tôt et ce matin, à 6h ils faisaient le ménage et remettaient tout en place donc un séjour très très mitigé ! Si besoin de calme, ne pas choisir côté piscine mais Marina.

Väldigt bra service, vi fick rummet flera timmar tidigare utan kostnad för att min dotter skulle kunna vila efter resan... riktigt uppskattat! Frukosten var den bästa jag ätit, och då reser jag mycket i mitt jobb. Sängarna var lite hårda men sov ändå väldigt bra! Kosta på er havsutsikt, det var så värt det att vakna till vågorna!

Loved Alicante . Our room was great….unfortunately it was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in . We were on the Marina side opposite a bar that plays music until midnight…when you add the hotel events it becomes very noisy. Not many outside areas … pool was very small and compact and airless. We did half board but would not do again . There are so many great restaurants to eat at . Playa San Juan was lovely …

This is an enormous property, a bit sleekly commercial, but beautifully situated on the water at the foot of the ocean-front wave walk. I had a sizable corner suite with a huge wraparound terrace, great harbor, city, sea and mountain views.

The room was lovely but extremely noisy I booked the junior executive suite overlooking the ocean. I got that but also overlooked the noisy noisy pool. It was very difficult to enjoy the serenity

Bra läge på hotellet och stort fint rum med två balkonger. Obekväm bäddsoffa. Air condition känns inte som den fungerade och att man kan styra den själv utan även om man ändrade temperatur var det lika varmt i rummet ändå.

Front desk staff need better training in how to provide good customer service at check in . We requested higher floor with sea view . a week before our arrival and when we were asked to check in few days early before arrival their link was not working . When we arrived we were given first floor . Looked nothing like the photo from our Expedia booking .then we were given second floor much smaller room We tried to change the room since we had 5 more nights to go but the woman at the front desk seemed very irritated and sent us (with a staff member who didn’t speak a word of English )looking at two rooms the first one we found other guests looking at the room and decided to take it and the second room was in a construction zone are and extremely far form lobby . So we decided forget about changing the room. Lobby was ok and very few places to set . When the door open all the cigarette smells go to the lobby even the bar area is open to the outside making it hard to set their with all smoke coming in. Breakfast was excellent.

This was my second stay. Very good location near everything you need in Alicante. Nice room views, clean and good standard. Very good breakfast and a very good dinner restaurant. Service minded and friendly staff in housekeeping and restaurants. However, reception was a disappointment this time. Many different messages, bad follow up, misunderstandings and annoying blocking of door cards due to system errors and lost messages.

What a great break we had at this hotel, fantastic location and amenities. Their Staff however are their jewel in the crown. Nothing was to much bother, they were always smiling and attentive. Ricardo on the foyer bar was a very professional bar man. We attended the New Year’s Day lunch which was amazing, a special thanks to Alba. What a star, brilliant. I highly recommend this hotel in every way. And we will be going back in a couple of months.

Our six-night stay at Hotel Meliá Alicante was a mixed experience, with a series of unresolved issues overshadowing its potential. While the hotel has a prime location, great amenities like a gym, outdoor pool, and stunning views, our stay was plagued by disruptions, including multiple room changes due to maintenance issues, loud neighbours requiring an ultimatum to resolve, and relentless construction noise starting at 8 AM. Although the suite provided for the latter part of our stay was comfortable and Francesco, the hotel experience manager, made efforts to improve our experience, the cumulative stress, sleeplessness, and reactive management left us disappointed. The hotel had moments of promise, but the shortcomings significantly diminished our overall enjoyment.

Really good hotel, perfectly situated between the beach and the harbour and 3 minutes to the old town. Nice rooms and facilities. The only reason the hotel doesn't get 5/5 is the sometimes very slow frontdesk. The hotel should really consider implement pre-checkin for the guest to make it faster.

My stay at Melia Alicante was fantastic! Perfectly located next to the beach, my room had stunning sea views. The hotel is modern, with a beautiful pool, and is just steps from the charming Old Town and Santa Bárbara Castle. Highly recommend for a relaxing, convenient getaway!

The rooms with Marina views had plenty of afternoon sun, a beach view was morning sun. The Half Board buffet evening meal was only high season, Expedia didn't make that clear when booking, however the restaurant provided wonderful menu with lots of choice and really good food, (service was relaxed but friendly).

Great hotel well located in the marina the only reason I didn’t give it an excellent was the hotel restaurant for evening meals the service was poor and the seating manager was worse than useless promising the meal came with things it didn’t. Do not use this place

Very well situated hotel. Very nice clean room. Helpful staff. Downside is pool and annoying poolside music but the beach is very close. Stayed here three times and if in Alicante again would use this hotel again.

Stort udvalg i forhold til morgenmad, men der kunne gøres mere ud af sunde alternativer, fx grøntsager som ikke var så spændende. Svært at finde yoghurt naturel, og en dag var det slet ikke at finde på buffeten.
