長浜ゲストハウスミカタ Guest House Mikata

A very nice little guesthouse in the middle of the old shopping district. Perfectly situated by a canal so the view from my window was extra nice and relaxing. The rooms are traditional with sliding doors, tatami mats and futons to sleep on. A very relaxing room. The walls are thin so are you sensitive about noise when you sleep you should use earplugs (provided in the room). Bathroom, showers and a small kitchen area is shared by all guests but that is what you expect from a guesthouse. The host is a very friendly and helpful man who gladly give you advice about things to do in the town and good places to eat. He speaks good English so no worries about communication. The shopping district have the old wooden buildings and are very nice. You can easily walk around there and browse for hours or visiting the nearby Temple. For those interested in craft beer and whisky there is a nice Distillery/brewery/restaurant not far away that have excellent food and you can also try out all their own products for a fair price. I would gladly stay here next time I'm in the area. :)

My one night here became 3 nights. Judo is the most amazing person in Nagahama. He is very helpful and accommodating even though he was busy helping out with the festival. The property is well maintained, quaint and the area is very quiet at night. That’s when it turns magical. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

This was a very nice place to discover Nagahama. The owner, Judo, was super social and enthousiast about sharing the local culture, gave me good recommandations, and even took me to some rehearsal of kodomo kabuki. If you like to The rooms were very clean and confortable, especially the bed !

とても素敵な宿でした。 地元出身のオーナーさんが定番から穴場まで教えてくれます。 鮎の泳ぐ綺麗な川沿いのロケーションも良いです。

綺麗で親切でした。隣の物音が襖一枚なので気になりますが、まぁすぐ慣れます。居心地もよかったし、畳、布団も綺麗でした。
