Really great stay except the coffee in the morning availability. Coffee in the room is not great, consider setting up complimentary coffee station in the lobby. Most hotels do....otherwise the hotel charm was fantastic

The place was very historic, beautiful place with garden, and huge porch and patio to enjoy. Super friendly staff, and we decided to have breakfast in the dining room, wonderful meal.

Street side was awoken at 6:15am by the city street sweeper. Unplug alarm clock or it may go off unexpectedly! Pretty area. Great bagel shop and lattes in town at Native Bagel.

It’s a charming historic building and the location is lovely. That being said, it is in major need of a renovation. The bathrooms are falling apart. The grout in the bathroom is moldy and the sink nearly came off the wall when I leaned over it. I left in the morning and saw someone had left their room service tray outside. It was still there… two days later! The staff is unfriendly, apathetic and unprofessional- they just don’t care. If you do decide to stay there, bring slippers. The carpets are sticky and left my feet black. Honestly, they need to do better. It’s a real shame. And yes- I’ve stayed there on more than one occasion. And yes, so have my friends and family. Consistently disappointing, but as it’s one of only a few options in town, you don’t have much choice except this overpriced hotel.

The common and gathering rooms are lovely and comfortable and the staff is welcoming. The area has lots of little eateries and great craft shops. The room itself was a bit dingy with a very very strong mold/mildew smell, signs of water damage, cracked outer window, stained commode seat, extremely creaky beds. I could not stay additional nights because it triggered my asthma but the hotel was gracious about working with Hotels.com.

The room was cold. Even though we pushed the thermostat up to 72 , the room was 69 this morning. Small room. Paid for a queen bed that was more like a full bed. Checking out, I was told there is very little difference between a full and queen.

The stay was decent and we tend to put up with the funkiness because we like the area. The hotel went through some changes and the price doubled or tripled and we stopped going there. The price dropped again, and we made another venture and got a two bed single room. We found that the beds are so bad that you cannot sleep comfortably with two in one bed! However, this time, these were the worst beds we have had and even sleeping solo in a double was tough. Also, the AC was a bit mixed and the room was very stuffy upon arrival. There are no fans in the bath which likely leads to some of this. We do like the area, and the folks we have run into are always friendly. We just like the old hotel, but not at the ridiculous prices of $250 or more. We got our room for about $95 I think, which makes it a reasonable value. Also, the fridge was not working well, and some of the outlets were blown. Was able to work around it, but some may not. Will likely stay again, but only when prices are decent. 3.5 stars is likely appropriate.

Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. The restaurant was very good. The rooms were comfortable other than they were a bit warm. It was 84 outside and the bathroom doesn’t have a fan or vent to remove the shower steam.

Room was cleaned but some dust build up on one side of the nightstand lamp and a couple loose hairs around the sink. A/C was not working properly. Thermostat would show temp of 70 but it was warm in the room so turned it down to 68. Room then got cold but stat still showed 68 and A/C didn’t turn off. Raised set temp to 69. A/C then never came on although room was warm. Stat showed temp of 70. Turned set temp down to 66 but A/C never kicked on leaving the room too warm all night long.

Noisy Frank Sinatra party going on for hours, could hear it in our room. Front desk staff was blowing her nose while talking to me. Dining room staff was slow and didn’t know what some of the items they were serving even were. Meal was overpriced. Guest rooms are charming but very tired furnishings. The whole place needs a refresh and deep cleaning.

The hotel never got our reservation from Expedia, but Seth and Bill handled it beautifully and got us a room. Then, the lock was broken and we couldn’t get into the room, so Seth found us another room.

Overall, I was disappointed as I had heard very positive comments about the hotel. My AC in room wasn't working properly and I couldn't get it below 70 degrees. In addition, dinner was not great as chicken very dry and over cooked. I wanted to stay for breakfast but they only had one server and after waiting about 15 minutes I couldn't get water or coffee. So I left and got back on the road. At breakfast, lots of tables had dishes that had not been cleared. I have been in Berea several times but this was the first staying at the Inn. Sadly, I will not be returning. I shared these complaints with the front desk and hopefully things will be better.

It is a historical building with some old charms. The rooms are a little bit smaller, but overall not bad. The area is nice. Unfortunately the service didn't keep the standard. We were sent to a wrong room. A pretty embarrassing situation. The restaurant is very nice. The food was good, but again we received a very poor service during the breakfast. There was no one to refill our coffee cups, no water served. Just came back for the check. We like the place and the area and if we received a better service then our ratings would be definitely higher. We may stay there again, because it much different experience than staying in any of the chains hotels.

Lovely, historic property with outstanding service and super clean rooms. Beautiful newly renovated bar and restaurant with high quality delicious food. Just a minute or two from highway 75 for easy on/off convenience. Competitive room prices when compared with the chains. Definitely stay here instead! Highly recommend and this place will be our new stop over while travelling this route.

The historic nature of the property and the location are excellent. We had a road-facing room with a lot of road noise, but in a college town that probably cannot be helped. My family’s other two rooms faced the inner section of the hotel which was less scenic but much quieter.

Nice place. Great location to I-75. Our beds were super creaky which was annoying and loud. Would suggest they tighten or replace beds. We checked in at 6pm and left the next morning at 8am so we didn’t get the full experience. The surrounding area is pretty and quaint. Coffee shop next door has a great blackberry cream latte.

Traveling solo, and this historic inn was a perfect stop along my journey. Charming, great location in Berea, very clean and well-maintained, and most importantly for me, affordable. Wish I could've stayed another day or two.

The property itself was very nice and the room was comfortable & clean if a bit small. The restaurant was very nice to look at but the food was tasteless and I got very sick in the night (throwing up violently and repeatedly for 6 hours). This isn't something I suffer from - first time in about 40 years to be anything like that sick. Disappointing for such a historic and attractive place.

Make your dinner reservation even if they tell you you don't need to! We walked up around 7 for dinner and were told that they couldn't seat us. The front desk had told us not to worry about making a reservation! Luckily they created a table in the cafe.

This place exudes charm. Past that, it's clean and comfortable and a bit pedestrian, but a great value for the price. Just don't make the same mistake we did and eat at the very, very, very expensive restaurant on site.

Second time staying at this wonderful old historic hotel. It is located in a very nice area with several nice small shops in the same block. Very nice fudge shop a couple of restaurants and some very nice speciality shops. The night we stayed was the night of the local high school prom. It was a great evening setting on the grand porch and watch parents take pictures of their children in their beautiful dresses and tuxedos. However we did have a problem with the service in the restaurant. It was extremely slow. The food arrived cold. They were generous and replaced our meals not just warmed up but with new meals. The next morning the same thing happened. They comped the breakfast. The are in the process of remodeling the dining area I’m not sure if this caused the problem or if it is just poor restaurant management Will stay here in travels
