Convenient location, close enough to where we needed to go. Very clean. Lots of parking. Breakfast was decent. Housekeeping knocked on door every morning at random times asking for our towels, which was a little odd. But overall good place to stay.

Parking was convenient. Staff are very courteous. Room was ok but there were small cockroaches.

The staff were rude during check in and even when we went to ask general questions during random times throughout the day. The pool didn’t work and I advised the website did not state the pool was not working, they quickly said with attitude it was not their fault since we booked through Expedia and they never update their website with any information. We were told of this information after checking in so we could not change our minds of cancelling and looking elsewhere. They advised the next day the pool was going to be fixed and it never was. I believe the manager stated they will clean whatever is in the pool so guests can get in but the pumps will not be on since they do not work (which meant we will be swimming in dirty water). The breakfast was alright, the pancake machine was also not working. The restroom looked like it had mold on the ceiling with the black specks and the bathroom sinks had black between where the sink met with the counter which also looked like mold. Beds looked clean as well as the rest of the room. The tubs have no sort of lining in them which were super slippery and slipped while getting in and during my shower. We bought the insurance in case anything were to happen, if it was not met up to our standards or cancelling last minute and they had no information and said we could not get refunded. Overall their information was a mess and we still stayed but kept to ourselves for four days.

It's an older building but has had updates done, some not so well but they're trying. It's clean, staff friendly/helpful.

We had a good 1 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Houston-Alvin. Breakfast was great. Areas to improve - room had a musky smell, only provided 3 shower towels when I booked for 6 people staying in the room, and pool could be cleaner.

The woman who checked us in was very Kind and helpful. The gym has a nice selection of equipment for the hotel size. The room has great space and the beds are very comfortable.

The staff were great, and the hotel was clean there was limited space in the fitness center and the elevator needs some updates.

closer proximity between houston City and Galveston. Though some part of the building looks renovated, pool and other areas looks dirty and unclean. Breakfast options could be improved with more refills. Smaller rooms and TV/remote doesn't work together.

We booked this hotel since we were coming into town for a wedding. It was close to where we needed to be. A pool was part of the hotel description. Easy check in process lady at front was nice and friendly I go to our room and instant smell of stail air and musty smell, I turned around before my husband could even get to the room knowing the smell we would not be able to do. This room was on the bottom floor so not sure if it had flooded at some point and their was a mold issue!

The room had a mildew smell and the carpet was very dirty. A bed was also very squeaky and would not let the whole party sleep at night. Shower tub was outdated and stained.

We arrived an hour and 45 minutes before 3 and was charged a $50 fee for early check in. We had just come from Oklahoma City, Waco and San Antonio. At each place we checked in early with no charge and they were cleaner and updated hotels. Our room smelled so musty that I requested to change rooms and the staff graciously helped us out. Unfortunately, there was a musty smell in the new room but not as bad. All staff were friendly and helpful. The facility is in need of a deep clean and remodel. When we left, we could smell the mustiness on our clothing.

I wanted to share our experience since we are back home from our vacation. We had to change rooms due to the shower not working yet leaking water. Which means if the shower did not work, how was it cleaned? Second was the smell. The halls and rooms smelled like mold. Really bad. Lastly, for the price of the room. It was not up to standards by any means, besides the smell. Everything just seemed really dirty. 10/10 would not recommend.

I truly like the Holiday Inn Expresses but this one was truly disappointing. There was mold all over the restroom walls. The phone did not work. The ironing board was broken and the towel rack fell on my husband. This is by far the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in.

Quite hotel (other than the losers loud cars on 35 but not hotels fault and calmed down about 8 pm). Great & thoughtful comfort and design. Love the luggage shelf plus micro, frig and coffee/tea choices in room. Highly recommend!

The room smelled like mildew as soon as we walked in. The shower had mold and looked gross. The cover smelled musty even though we hadn’t used it. It really looked like we were staying at a motel or something. Probably will try somewhere else if I ever come back.

Great place to stay and really clean

The key did not work during my first night. Then after getting in bed, I find that my room phone does not work. The attendant said it could not be fixed, but I needed a wake up call for a very important event. He said an employee would knock on my door. well, you guessed it, no one knocked. Came down at 715 for breakfast and the food was sparse and already cold and dried out. The A/C is set so one cannot go below 66 and the blower was set to low. Coffee in the room was not replaced with new ones. Staff kept confusing what room I was in. I will not be staying there again.

The room was great but we were on the first floor by the lobby and other guests were being loud without care for others and noone was at the front desk - this was at 3 am, and we heard the elevator everytime it would move (room 101 was not the best location).

rooms were cleaned everyday with new towels put out. nice spacious updated clean rooms. very nice view as well

The rooms were fine but the TV was a older module and the controls were hard to control the tv. For any Holiday Inn to have this kind of equipment is like I was in a motel 6.

Was put in room 101 which was an adaptable room for disabilities. This was not needed but it was nice, clean, and big. Only downside was it was literally right next to the elevators and lobby and was very noisy. Breakfast was included and had many choices. Would stay here again but in a different room.

Pretty clean hotel wifi was a little slow

It was great. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really good during our stay.

Checkin was easy. Mahogany was very friendly and helpful during our stay.

Staff was amazing and very helpful

The only thing I didn’t like is that I was over charged for checking in a little bit earlier. I do understand that some places require an extra charge but paying almost what I payed for the whole night is a little bit too much .

Interesting stay. Had to keep asking for toilet paper and towels. On second night of stay was told I had to bring dirty towels before any clean towels would be given to me. This was at 11 o’clock at night after being out at a softball tournament all day. Never had this issue before and we stay at different hotels all the time.

The place is very nice, very clean and its surroundings, all the staff are very friendly, it does not have a lot of variety of restaurants nearby, but we asked for DoorDash and everything was excellent.

Easy access and great location. Sits very close to stores for shopping, Walmart and restaurants. Only complaint is water pressure from shower head.

This is a clean and comfortable hotel near Galveston. We stayed here for one night en route to the cruise terminal. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Very happy with our recent 10 night stay . We were originally booked into a room with an ajoining door. Unfortunately on the second night there was a lot of noise coming from the next room. The following morning we asked if we could move rooms.. and we were given another room at the back of the hotel... which was lovely and quiet (no noisy neighbours or freeway) and overlooking a river / bayou which had loads of wildlife. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay and hotel nice and clean. Would definitely recommend.

In an industrial area No stores around except a Walmart. Just not a nice area. Staff was great. Hard to get a taxi out there.

It was horrible. Breakfast was cold and nasty we got down there at 7.15 am and everything was soggy and cold I guess she cooked everything an hour before because it was definitely not fresh and hot. The lady that ran the front desk in the mornings was hateful and rude and had a attitude about everything when we went to check out I waited 30 minutes in the lobby for a cart I was the only one in the loading and un loading spot I ask her when they might have some it's been 30 minutes she said oh a lady took both carts this morning about 2 hours ago and hasn't brought them back I said are you kidding me there are other people needing them 😒 but did the lady up front care nope. And the worst part is no one but her in the hole hotel spoke English which was really annoying tried to ask several house keepers for towels not one of them spoke English just smile and said sorry dont know English then would giggle to other house keepers are you kidding me this is America how is anyone supposed to have a nice stay in your hotel when you can't talk to no one will definitely never stay hear again trust me save your money dont go hear

HIExp is predictable and consistent with some locations recently updated or just new. In line with what I expected. If you are used to it, it is recommended. Comfortable, safe good breakfast. Some less sugary options could be made available but overall very good with some hot items.

Holiday Inn Express in Alvin was a beautiful property. Check in was a little slow, but mainly because I changed my room from 2nd floor to 1st floor and receptionist took two phone calls from call-in customers during my check-in. Room was spotless, bed was so comfortable, price was reasonable although I was charged $25 extra for a one hour early check-in. Breakfast was outstanding and staff was super friendly. Would definitely stay again when in the area.
