We’ve been coming to Jakes over the past 15 years, probably 6 stays total. There’s really exceptional staff, Shermaine, one of the managers is amazing and made our stay absolutely beautiful. He really took care of us. We’ve bounced around from their Calabash villa to standard rooms staying over ten days. Love the laid back vibe and the community of Treasure Beach- one of the best spots in Jamaica. The people are lovely and sweet. The food at Jake’s is very good and changes regularly- the smoked marlin dip with fried banana chips was incredible. All their rotating menu items hold their own. This last stay we noticed a slight downgrade on upkeep and bartending staff hospitality. It’s subtle and at first we thought there might be new owners. There’s biting ants around the pool and restaurant and you’d think that’s inconsequential but they’re hateful insects that leave a long maddening itch. All in all it’s an outstanding place and we’ll be back. They got smashed with Hurricane Beryl and with luck they’ll use the opportunity to regain their full luster.

The property was an ideal getaway for total relaxation and rest. It would have helped to have a gym facility to add some alternative activity since the beach was closed.

Pros: Staff do the best they can and always have a upbeat attitude. Private beach area with ample snorkeling opportunities. Cons: Tree canopy above and dilapidated infrastructure has made it a breeding ground for mosquitoes and lizards. Rural roads and few transportation resources.

We really needed a vacation and this is a great place to get away from a hectic work life. The Octopussy (honeymoon) suites are fantastic, located right on the ocean. So we fell asleep to crashing waves every night. The staff is so courteous and friendly! The housekeeping team is A !! The only down side is that the beach is a bit rocky and there's no really good place to snorkel. Definitely not a place to bring snorkel gear, which we did. Otherwise a nice place. Oh and bring lot's of Jamaican dollars, the ATM on site never seems to work. The WiFi signal also is bad.

We stayed at Treasure Cot at Jake’s with our 1.5 year old for 2 weeks in November and had an amazing time. The house is old and rustic but that’s part of the charm. Right on the beach and a short stroll down the local road from the main Jake’s property. Our house team (Tracy and Oshane) were so lovely and welcoming to our family in every way. Tracy prepared 3 wonderful local meals everyday for us - making modifications for our toddler where relevant. They were happy to chat and entertain visits from our toddler throughout the day. We also had a nanny arranged through Jake’s, Carlene, who was an absolute delight. We’ve been home for a few weeks and our little one is still talking about her “Carly”. At Jake’s itself, we enjoyed the spa on a few occasions and loved the cocktails at the bar. A terrific trip - we local forward to returning in years to come.

Wonderful stay at Jakes (including the resident gecko or 2). Beautiful properties and facilities. Great food and lovely staff. Location is fabulous away from the busy tourist areas with plenty of good dining choices locally.

I want to start by saying Adrian and Tracy were exceptional representatives for Jakes. Tracy’s breakfasts are second to none and Adrian would go above and beyond to accommodate requests. The massages were like heaven Unfortunately Jakes was hit hard by hurricane Beryl and is being rebuilt. The accommodation we initially booked was still too damaged to inhabit so they upgraded us to Treasure Cot. At this point we asked if the site would be under construction and were assured it would not, this was not the case. The pool and bar were being rebuilt, you could not access the beach by Jakes, it was an actual building site. Treasure Cot had beautiful views of the ocean, but in much need to updating despite its recent refurbishment. Given the inconvenience we felt we needed to be upgraded not just in terms of space but facilities to mitigate the lack of amenities we now couldn’t access. Adrian acted quickly! He was kind and worked to find us somewhere, he took us to Seaweed Cottage. Seaweed Cottage I am sure when it has had a full turndown is gorgeous. However, in the rush to accommodate us we had ants on the towels, mites in the bed, ants on the toilet sea, a space that needed a good clean and extremely poor internet service. Even the villas next door was having work done to it while we were sharing facilities. We left a day early because it was clear that Jakes was not ready to host guests. It was a such a disappointment and a waste of money despite Adrian’s effort.

It's a magical spot. Beautiful, colorful, cottages and villas all with easy access to the beach, pool, activites. The staff is friendly and the vibe is laid back. You can easily do a lot or do nothing. It's a very special place.

Best choice in Treasure Beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is where they shine.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location is really nice. However the stay wasn’t without issues. The room was nice however it had an ants problem which ended up all over our clothes and us getting bitten. We complained about this multiple times to get resolved and were informed the room had been sprayed however we don’t believe this was the case. Some of the sockets didn’t work however after informing reception this issue was resolved. The pictures are very deceiving as it said there was a private sandy beach however that is next door and open to the public. Spiders had been killed on the walls but not cleaned up. The lighting on the path to the room was bad and hard to see at night. Generally liked the stay but for the price it wasn’t worth it. We did manage to get an incident report created.

The food was great -- we really got a taste of Jamaica! Very clean and easy to navigate. The location to surrounding beaches, restaurants and activities was central and walkable. We'll definitely be back!

Property is quiet and rustic which is good for people looking for quiet time. I would have loved an early morning coffee but the water in the fridge was icy and the coffee maker didn't work. No hot water in bathroom which is big negative. AC works.

My husband and I came for a few days and very much enjoyed the casual and laid-back atmosphere of everything. We only wish we could have brought that feeling back home to the US! Lol The room was very clean and always attendees to by the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. The bed was most comfortable, which is important to us. It is definitely a place we will add to our list of return visits.

Very laid back bohemian style hotel with a great array of rooms. Close to the beach and local restaurants. The hotel offers several excursions to nearby attractions such as Black River and YS falls. Very much enjoyed my stay off the beaten track

Rustic- peaceful haven!! This spot is a getaways getaway! Perfect for bonding, reconciling or just being in love. My husband and I wanted no tv, no cell, no fuss and we got that and more. We utilized the outdoor shower facing the ocean, the roof top deck looking at the ocean and the bed…facing the ocean (lol)! You wake up and open up the doors and you are literally feet away from an amazing view of the ocean. We loved this rustic spot! Walked down the road and tried the local restaurants and some local gift shop had beautiful items….I believe it was called Callaloo…loved this place

A bit disappointing. The rooms are really huts/challets. Pretty day. Showers outside. Not reaaly worth around USD 300 per night Treasure beach is a bit limited/quite. There many better beach areas (with more happening). Its also a nit out of the way. Transport is a bit expensive.

The bed is a little too soft but the staff, service were awesome. The restaurant was very good too You don’t have many options nearby Beautiful sunset

This is a beautiful resort made up of quaint cottages/rooms. Every room is it's own destination. Treasure Beach is quiet compared to MoBay and Negril, but there are plenty of walkable restaurants and nightclubs/bars.

Everything about Jakes was wonderful, but the staff made the stay wonderful and special. From the front desk to security and the dining staff ,was accommodating, sincere and caring. We lost our suitcase at MBJ airport, Chemarie went above and beyond and got our suitcase back. We will be coming back, this is a special place. Five stars for everything.

Jason and his team went above and beyond during our 2 day stay. The resort is just gorgeous. Great food. They arranged transport after our hire car was ran into and were very helpful and sympathetic. Recommend.

It's where Jamaican's go for a holiday, somewhat remote and away from the all-inclusives... Which is what we wanted. Check out Pelican Bar, very cool.

The staff was so friendly. The property was gorgeous and very unique. The people of Treasure Beach were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend! The roads are a little rough near the resort.

Beautiful little Boutique hotel in Treasure Beach. I would recommend to anyone. Food is expensive but for the location it is to be expected. Go to a local restaurant if looking to save some money.

Great place to stay if you want to get a true feel for the culture. Excellent beach that felt private. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They made sure we had what we needed for the villa to include cleaning, towels, etc. Staying out of season was challenging in that the available markets/grocery was limited so buying needed groceries to use with the unit kitchen was impossible for many items. The restaurants were limited with the property but the food was great and other restaurants are available nearby, although limited likely due to off season. Only complaint was that Jake’s restaurant unlike Jack Spratt restaurant, which I understand is also owned by the property, presented our meal tabs in US instead of Jamaican dollars which added in my estimation about $8 to $12 per sitting for 4 people. When asked they did show the Jamaican dollar cost on our tabs but when they tried to run the credit card charges in Jamaican dollars, many times the card readers at Jake’s would reject for currency mismatch. I did not experience this at any other venue in Jamaica and have not experienced this traveling anywhere else in the world. It was very frustrating, and we never got a clear explanation why certain card readers couldn’t process the charges in Jamaican dollars.
