Quiet, modernized rooms in traditional building. Limited secure car parking under the building. About 10 minutes walk to the restaurant/business district, a bit farther to the historic district. Overlooks a nice park, which unfortunately was under renovation when we visited, but should be great when it reopens. Friendly helpful staff.

Hotellet ligger i øvre del av sentrum - i en gammel bygning som er veldig smakfullt renovert - dette gjelder både fellesområder og de enkelte rom 😀😀😀 Rommet og badet har god størrelse, er komfortabelt og har alle nødvendige fasiliteter; AC, TV, WIFI og vannkoker med kaffe og te. Frokostbufet er tilgjengelig (ikke inkludert - 8,5 Euro / pr pers) Parkering skjer på hotellets lukkede eiendom (ikke inkludert - 13 Euro / natt) I nærområdet er det lite intressant å oppleve - den gamle byddelen (ved sjøen) kan enkelt nås med Metro eller til fots (ca 30 min), men det er en LAAANG oppoverbakke tilbake til hotellet 😅😅😅 Det er matvarebutikk innen 100 m gåavstand fra hotellet. Personalet var meget hyggelige og serviceinnstilte 😃 😃 😃 Alt i alt meget god verdi for pengene 👍 👍 👍

The room was really nice and clean and vary spacious. Really feels like a boutique hotel. For the people that have limited mobility, it's important to know that there are sets of stairs ( 8-10) to get to the lobby. Since our room was the first room up the stairs, we could hear the noise from people talking outside. It didn't bug me however, if you're a light sleeper it's something to be aware of. The hotel was in a more "quiet" area being roughly 25 min walking distance from downtown. We only stayed one night, and left really early so we didn't have breakfast. It did look nice enough. The typical spanish/Portuguese continental breakfast with ham & cheese. I felt like I was annoying the person check-in us in but apart from that I would definitely stay there again. 8.5/10

This property was built in the 1850’s as a home. In 1982 the property was converted to a hotel. It is very quaint. The rooms are somewhat small but the bathrooms are new and wonderful. It has an elevator to get you upstairs to the 3rd floor. They offer a very good continental breakfast that has a variety of options. We enjoyed our stay at the Rex

Sauberes Hotelzimmer, jedoch roch das Bad nach Abfluss. Das Zimmer etwas klein. Das Personal soweit freundlich, aber doch etwas eigen. Das Frühstück ist etwas dürftig. Der Eingang zum Hotel ist nicht behindertengerecht.

The location is very good for walking around historic parts of Porto & accessing the Hop On Hop Off bus tour. It is a lovely old hotel with a lot of charm. The only complaint we had was that the cleaning staff did not vacuum the rug in the room before or during our 3 night stay.

Our room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large, modern and everything worked. As other reviewers have commented, the carpet is old, stained and dirty-looking though, judging from the rest of the hotel, I'm sure they vacuum and clean it. Breakfast was good, coffee so-so. The main drawback for us was that the free hotel WiFi didn't reach our room, though it was good in the "lobby"/dining area. The property is a good walk to tourist attractions, but close to a Metro station. We like to walk, so that's what we did. We saw parts of the city that we would probably have missed if we had stayed in the heart of the old city.

The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect it was at the top of every sights, everything was i walking distances. Though you di need to like walking and up hill a lot. For me it was perfect. Standard breakfast, nice bed and room. The roof in every room is gorgeous. The staff was really lovley! The only minus is the cleaning goid be better, but it was ok. As a solo traveller i felt safe.

Si hubiera sabido que la categoría “Confort” era en un semisótano, no la habría reservado, pero en Expedia no vi dicha información. No obstante, creo que es un poco lotería y a nosotros nos dieron la peor habitación de todas las del semisótano. Daba a la calle, por lo que se escuchaba a todo el mundo pasar junto con el ruido constante del tráfico. Además, la habitación tenía humedades en el techo y olía bastante a humedad, cosa que era inevitable porque la miniventana solo se podía abrir una rendija. Al pasar cuando estaban limpiando otras habitaciones, vimos que tenían mejor pinta, con un ventanal grande que daba al patio interior y no parecía que tuvieran humedades. Por otro lado, por lo general, el personal es bastante amable salvo el señor de las tardes de la recepción sábado y domingo, que parecía que no le gustaba que le preguntásemos nada. El desayuno bastante bueno y como cortesía dejan en recepción todo el día pasteles y fruta. La comunicación también es muy buena. En definitiva, creo que la experiencia habría sido mejor simplemente si hubiéramos tenido más suerte de que al menos nos hubiese tocado la habitación de enfrente que daba al patio interior.

Hotel com boa localização e bom atendimento, porém o quarto que fiquei era no subsolo oq o tornava um pouco barulhento para quem tem dificuldade em dormir com barulhos. A rede de wifi no subsolo é bem fraca, por muitos momentos nao consegui conectar.

Ein sehr zentrales Hotel mit kleinem, aber feinem Frühstück. Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr schön hergerichtet und gemütlich. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein – wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer –, aber vollkommen ausreichend und Sauber. Alles ist fußläufig erreichbar.

Foi uma excelente estadia. O hotel é muito bem conservado, a localização torna tudo muito prático e o fato de ter estacionamento na propriedade é muito conveniente. O ponto que mais se destaca, sem dúvidas, é a cordialidade do staff, em especial, do Sr. Jorge e da Sônia que não pouparam esforços para tornar a nossa estadia com um bebê de 1 ano muito mais agradável.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rex. The hotel is in a beautiful heritage building, but the facilities are modern and comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming. It's located in a quieter area, but a very short walk to all the action. We will stay here again.

The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect it was at the top of every sights, everything was i walking distances. Though you di need to like walking and up hill a lot. For me it was perfect. Standard breakfast, nice bed and room. The roof in every room is gorgeous. The staff was really lovley! The only minus is the cleaning goid be better, but it was ok. As a solo traveller i felt safe.

Beautiful little hotel right in front of Porto's Plaza Republica, far from the heavy touristic river area, but near the Cedofeita shopping and dining area, metro stations, and the Bolhão market. Personnel at the front desk were very helpful and accommodated all of our needs. Breakfast was pretty good. Overall, a great place to stay in Porto.

Si hubiera sabido que la categoría “Confort” era en un semisótano, no la habría reservado, pero en Expedia no vi dicha información. No obstante, creo que es un poco lotería y a nosotros nos dieron la peor habitación de todas las del semisótano. Daba a la calle, por lo que se escuchaba a todo el mundo pasar junto con el ruido constante del tráfico. Además, la habitación tenía humedades en el techo y olía bastante a humedad, cosa que era inevitable porque la miniventana solo se podía abrir una rendija. Al pasar cuando estaban limpiando otras habitaciones, vimos que tenían mejor pinta, con un ventanal grande que daba al patio interior y no parecía que tuvieran humedades. Por otro lado, por lo general, el personal es bastante amable salvo el señor de las tardes de la recepción sábado y domingo, que parecía que no le gustaba que le preguntásemos nada. El desayuno bastante bueno y como cortesía dejan en recepción todo el día pasteles y fruta. La comunicación también es muy buena. En definitiva, creo que la experiencia habría sido mejor simplemente si hubiéramos tenido más suerte de que al menos nos hubiese tocado la habitación de enfrente que daba al patio interior.

O hotel é em frente à praça da república e tem estacionamento pago à parte. Custei a localizar porque o waze errou a entrada. O atendimento é muito cordial. Brasileiros na recepção e servindo o café. A lovely place to stay if you have a large room. Very efficient, polite staff at reception, helpful and warm. Nice building, amazing bathroom amenities and a well preserved continental breakfast. Also the fruit and pastries offered in the lobby a very nice touch. About five minutes walk from the metro station, about 20 mins walk to the main sites and a supermarket a couple of minutes away.

This property was built in the 1850’s as a home. In 1982 the property was converted to a hotel. It is very quaint. The rooms are somewhat small but the bathrooms are new and wonderful. It has an elevator to get you upstairs to the 3rd floor. They offer a very good continental breakfast that has a variety of options. We enjoyed our stay at the Rex

Beautiful old hotel with a lot of character and very well restored. The downside is that it turned out quite expensive. Price is much higher on this portal than if you book on hotel's website, parking adds € 13 a night, a very small breakfast € 9,50 a person and + tourist tax. Other than that, the staff is very polite and helpful and the atmosphere great!
