Elford House - Whitby

The Elford room was large and comfortable with a sofa and table with chairs. The bed was comfortable. Whilst this is one of the modern self access sites there was sufficient beverage condiments, and a fridge, to allow a decent start to the day followed by a walk to one of the recommended cafes for breakfast. The shower was strong and easily controlled with good quality soft towels. We'll definitely look favourably if/when we return to Whitby.

Very clean room ,property lovley and on site parking .

Stayed in room 13 Room was clean with plenty of storage . Bed frame very rickety and squeaky and poor mattress both need replacing as poor nights sleep .should provide fan as top room was very hot . Curtains need throwing away as badly stained and ripped also needs a darker set as was woke up as soon as it got light because white curtains .would be helpful to know which room you are in and the code for keys before you arrive instead of having to ring housekeeper for the room and code numbers .

The property was spotless ,room very nice bed comfy . The only thing missing was a fan as room top off house and very warm

On the whole, our experience was positive. The room was spotless, relatively recently decorated, and with fairly good amenities. We had some difficulty locating the kettle, which was in built-in wardrobe rather than next to the tea and coffee, cups etc, however those guests needing wardrobe space wouldn’t be disappointed. There was also a mini fridge. The beds and bedding were immaculate and good quality, and there were limited toiletries provided. Unfortunately though, I have taken off one star because of the abysmal - or should I say non-existent - customer service. I had a query regarding parking prior to actual check-in time. We knew we would be arriving earlier than 3pm so I contacted the owners to ask if it was ok to park in the morning, however received no response to messages sent through Expedia and left on their answering machine, and then once I’d found their email address on their website I sent another message asking the same question but all the response I received said was “thank you”. We parked there anyway and it wasn’t a problem. We will definitely be staying here again though, despite the lack of customer service, as it is extremely good value for money and very conveniently located in the town, around a 10 minute walk away from the centre/ railway station.
