The hotel was under renovation. They gave us a room right next to the site. They drilled walls in the morning while we were still there. We couldn’t use balcony due to all the stuff for construction. No facility - no fridge, no kettle, no curtain! I complained but no change whatsoever. Staff were all pretty nice but the decision to rent the room while still construction doesn’t make any sense.

We checked in lae night. Front desk service person did not informed us that wifi was not working. We asked lady to give us another wifi pwd she denied the request. For 2 nights wifif did not work at all. Everytime they keep saying it will work tomorrow and they are fixing. After 2 nights we decided to checkout and stay somewhere else for 1 night and property managet agreed to refund us that 1 night and some compensation for inconvience caused by no wifi service, contruction noise in hotel, safety issues in playground. My kid was about to fall down from broken steps of playground. Now, hotels.com telling us that hotel is not agreeing to give us any refund and compensation at all and offereing $20 one key cash which feels like insulting. We paid $1074 for 3 nights. Hotel is in construction and they are not making any effort to make your stay comfortable so stay away from this hotel.

We had a great time at Hotel Ermitage staff was very friendly and accommodating it was very close to hiking and rooms very clean. Breakfast was excellent as well. Hot tub was not very hot when we’re there so did not use it otherwise great location and experience.

It was very nice experience for us . The hotel was next to the cable car station with amazing view It was hidden gems Before going Switzerland we did home work where to go but there was a little mention of Oeschinen Lake where you can do hiking sight seeing Barbecue swimming many activities etc in Summer . It was arranged so convenient for Elderly and pregnant Woke up with snowcapped mountains and waterfalls in front of your eyes was amazing Staffs are very friendly Rooms were modern and very clean with Alpine features Parking is free But no lifts to top floor but they will take the luggage for you About 1 hour north to Jungfrau and Interlaken and south to Matterhorn Initially we felt quite remote but we fell in love after staying there We requested early breakfast before scheduled time due to our trip and they let us in . That was very kind We highly recommend

Hotel was located directly across from Lake Oeschinensee and a bus ride from Blausee. Restaurant was great and breakfast was delicious. The only issue I had was that there was no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor and after riding 3 hrs of trains/busses I had to then transport my bags up the stairwell.

Hotel is located in a very convenient place, right by the gondola for Oeschinensee Lake & the hotel allows you to park for free on the day of arrival or departure so you don't also need to pay for parking for the Gondola. The view is amazing from the grounds of the hotel overlooking the mountain. Check-in was quick, but they didn't ask if we had a car & it was only when I enquired that I realised we should have been given something to put in our car, otherwise we could have been given a ticket. There's extra charges for using the hot tub or sauna featured on the photos. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable and included in our room price, there was choices for all family members. On arrival, we were told we had booked a "budget room" whereas we had thought we had booked a comfort room. The room was in the basement with no view of the mountain & there was scaffolding right outside our room which wasn't particularly safe for small children. When we arrived, we realised the TV was damaged, we informed the management & they seemed annoyed but did not offer any compensation etc. the radiator was leaking in the hallway & the floor was raising up near the bathroom/toilet. It was however spacious inside and would have slept 6 people and a baby if required with a double bed and two sets of bunk beds. It was also clean. When staying at the accommodation they offer a guest card which gives you discount to the gondola and public transport, but we had already bought our gondola tickets

Perfecte ligging als je vroeg de kabelbaan naar Oechinensee wilt nemen. Gratis parking bij het hotel = gemakkelijk. Alleen deze 2 factoren bepalen wel een hogere prijsklasse, maar het voordeel woog erg op. Wij hadden familiesuite (2volw en 2 kind), die aparte ruimtes heeft (kamer met 2 stapelbedden; kamer 2pers bed, apart salonnetje, grote gang en bdk). Goed geslapen in goede bedden. Avondeten was heel lekker in gezellig kader. Ontbijt was uitgebreid en in buffetvorm. Een half uurtje hottub naast het bos en met mooi zicht op de bergen van Kandersteg was inbegrepen en zalig.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast has many options and kept up well, location is perfect for hiking and other activities in the area, parking was very easy, the room was a bit tight on space but all the other positive things made this not a problem.

Hotel Ermitage Kandersteg (chambre confort family): Je l’impression de louer une chambre de gardien pour ma famille. Chambre 1 étoile et pas 3 étoiles comme sur l’entrée : petits lits, on se cognait la tête. les mouches et les araignées, sale de bain sale en ces côtes. Internet et la télévision ne fonctionnent pas. il n'y a pas d'ustensiles (bouilloire, etc). Séjour très cher pour quelqu'un qui ressemble à un concierge mais payé 522€ pour 2 nuits. Je souhaite un remboursement en raison de fonctions réduites (internet, TV, toilettes super petit, vu mouches).

La chambre n'avait rien a voir avec la photo. Elle etait cependant spacieuse ce qui etait agréable avec des enfants. Le problème est le manque d'insonorisation et le fait que sur les 4 savons disposés dans la chambre, aucun n'avait été rempli donc pas de savon pour se doucher. Le staff est par contre exceptionnel et nous avons été très bien servis.

Perfekt beliggenhed lige ved gondolen og starten af vandreruten til Oeschinensee. Meget praktisk hvis man vil ud tidligt. Rene og pæne værelser, sødt personale og hyggelig stemning. Vi havde en skøn overnatning og kommer gerne igen.

We loved this hotel. The front desk staff were so kind and helpful - they guided us to great hikes and wonderful massages. We are on our honeymoon and they decorated the room special for us as a surprise - rose petals and champagne - so kind and thoughtful! The hotel is at a convenient location across the street from the gondola lift to Oeschinensee, so it can get a little busy during the day - great for people watching. Overall a very quiet and cozy location; we had a great view of the mountain and waterfalls from our balcony. Also, the hotel had the cutest alpine rabbits that reside on the property!

Très bon hôtel, parfaitement situé au départ de toutes les randonnées pour le lac d'Oeschinen. Le cadre est super, l'hôtel très mignon et le pêtit déjeuner très bon. Petit bémol il n'y a pas de frigo dans la chambre.

Når du bestiller et Comfort Room Family-værelse, skal du være opmærksom på, at det ligger i høj kælderniveau ved garagerne med egen indgang tæt på vejen, hvor biler kører til og fra Gondolbanen. Trafikken stopper dog omkring kl. 19-20. Vi ville have valgt et andet hotel, hvis vi havde vidst dette på forhånd. Vinduerne kunne åbnes, men folk kunne kigge direkte ind, og det føltes utrygt at have døren åben. Værelset virkede ikke som en del af hotellet og føltes mindre sikkert. Desuden var der meget lydt, både fra naboværelset, som fungerede som en hyggestue, og fra restauranten ovenpå. Vi forsøgte at få et andet værelse, men hotellet var fuldt booket, og vi fik at vide, at prisen afspejlede værelset. Rengøringen var heller ikke optimal; sengetøjet lugtede af karry, lampen på badeværelset blinkede uden at blive repareret, og der var utætheder ved vasken. Ved indtjekning manglede toiletpapir. Første dag efterlyste vi et skilt til at sætte på døren for ikke at få housekeeping og her fik vi at vide at der ingen housekeeping ville være i de 4 nætter vi var der. Det viste sig ikke at være korrekt. Vi havde housekeeping. Personalet var dog generelt venligt, og vi fik hurtigt rabatkuponer til seværdigheder i området, efter vi kontaktede hotellet. The room was in the basement with no view of the mountain & there was scaffolding right outside our room which wasn't particularly safe for small children. Perfecte ligging als je vroeg de kabelbaan naar Oechinensee wilt nemen. Gratis parking bij het hotel = gemakkelijk. Avondeten was heel lekker in gezellig kader. Ontbijt was uitgebreid en in buffetvorm. Een half uurtje hottub naast het bos en met mooi zicht op de bergen van Kandersteg was inbegrepen en zalig.

We don’t normally do reviews but this place deserves one. Just a gem of a find. Great location, beautiful and comfortable (alpine but modern), and amazing food! (Both the complimentary breakfast and we had a delicious dinner.) and everyone was so helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a lovely hotel in Kandersteg. This is located beside the gondola station and the walking path for the hike to lake. There was a nice restaurant at the hotel that we had a great dinner at and the breakfast was very enjoyable. My family really enjoyed staying here and we would come back again!

We checked in lae night. Front desk service person did not informed us that wifi was not working. We asked lady to give us another wifi pwd she denied the request. For 2 nights wifif did not work at all. Everytime they keep saying it will work tomorrow and they are fixing. After 2 nights we decided to checkout and stay somewhere else for 1 night and property managet agreed to refund us that 1 night and some compensation for inconvience caused by no wifi service, contruction noise in hotel, safety issues in playground. My kid was about to fall down from broken steps of playground. Now, hotels.com telling us that hotel is not agreeing to give us any refund and compensation at all and offereing $20 one key cash which feels like insulting. We paid $1074 for 3 nights. Hotel is in construction and they are not making any effort to make your stay comfortable so stay away from this hotel.

Additionally, no one from the property reached out to me, despite having both my phone number and email address. Someone from the front desk or management should have contacted me before leaving for the day to provide the after-hours check-in process. Please let me know the steps to file a claim through the insurance I purchased. I genuinely need your assistance, as this is the second or third time I’ve faced issues without any proper resolution or compensation. Der Check In war nicht so wie erhofft Die Dame und uns gleich mal gesagt: zu früh, Zimmer noch nicht parat. Danach gab es nur den Schlüssel ohne jeglichen Kommentar wo dass Zimmer zu finden ist geschweige wann und wo es Frühstück gibt. Das restliche Personal war aber sehr freundlich und zuvor kommend. Hat tolle Auskunft gegeben und es haben sich nette Gespräche ergeben.

Hotel was located directly across from Lake Oeschinensee and a bus ride from Blausee. Restaurant was great and breakfast was delicious. The only issue I had was that there was no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor and after riding 3 hrs of trains/busses I had to then transport my bags up the stairwell.

Perfekt beliggenhed lige ved gondolen og starten af vandreruten til Oeschinensee. Meget praktisk hvis man vil ud tidligt. Rene og pæne værelser, sødt personale og hyggelig stemning. Vi havde en skøn overnatning og kommer gerne igen.

Overall our stay was great! Our room was spacious and had great views. Breakfast was delicious with hot and cold options. Staff was friendly and hotel was right next to the gondola to go up the mountain. Beautiful walkable town. And thankful that parking was free for hotel guests. We also had dinner there at the hotel restaurant on our first night. It was pretty good. A little pricy, but comparable in price to other restaurants in town.

After a horrible experience in Interlaken. This hotel was a safe, healthy, clean place that was so worth it. Matina and Joshua were so kind! They say Americans are the people who respect them. We must always be that way as other countries do not hold our values. So book this place!
