車で行ったのですが宿近くで駐車場がわからず戸惑っていたところ、送迎車で先導して案内していただき助かりました。館内は趣があり歴史を感じます。新しい設備も整っており非常に快適です。食事は私も娘も好き嫌いが多いのですが、どの料理も美味しく、夕食も朝食も完食でした。また、配膳してくださった方が、我々が猫好きなことに気づき地域猫ポイントを案内してくれたので、行ってみたら可愛い茶トラの猫に会えました。気配りに感謝です。 15年ぶりの宿泊でしたが、やはり最高の宿です！

Fantastic ryokan experience. Service was outstanding and kaiseki dinner delicious. We also booked the private onsen for one hour which is a short 5 min walk. The location is super convenient as it’s next to restaurant, shops and the bus station. It’s not a western hotel with various amenities, so know what you are getting into upfront.

こちらのお宿にずっと泊まりたくてイギリスから伺いました。希望の部屋風呂つきのお部屋はすでにいっぱいだったのですが、貸切温泉の予約サービスができて満喫できました。お宿の雰囲気は全てが好みで、陰翳礼讃の静かで豊かな時間、日本らしさが大変感じられました。温泉のお湯もなめらかで肌に大変よく、手湿疹が滞在中に綺麗になくなりました。残念ながらイギリスに戻ってきた途端に再発症してしまいました。湯の花など販売していたら買ってきたかったほど私にはあっていました。毎回一時帰国の際には伺いたいお宿です。

This was an amazing onsen experience and absolutely worth the higher price. The onsen is wonderful and very private. The rooms are traditional Japanese rooms, gorgeous and comfortable. Our room also had a massage chair. We opted to have the dinner and it was incredible. The atmosphere of the hotel is very quiet and peaceful. We had a very relaxing stay!

This is very authentic Onsen-Ryokan but has convenient electronic features such like room can be locked key-less. All remotes in the room are packed in disposable cases. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Inside courtyard garden is well treated. Bath tubs have natural hot springs which was we looked for this trip. I strongly recommend, and will come again for next chance.

Incredible place that gave our family a wonderful experience of traditional Japan. The property is pristine and museum-like. For our family with teens, one night was perfect. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We are very glad we booked this property and made the trip, even though it was off our path. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tocen Goshoboh yesterday and would highly recommend it! We arrived around 2:20 PM, which was over 30 minutes before the official check-in time, but the hotel kindly let us check in early. We booked the Japanese-Style Standard Room with No Shower Room, including breakfast for two, at a very reasonable price of AUD 500. This traditional ryokan has an incredible 800-year history, and you can truly feel the depth of culture in every detail of its design and atmosphere. The Kinsen (golden hot spring) was especially memorable – perhaps because we visited during the off-season, I was lucky enough to enjoy the communal bath all to myself three times during our stay. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated in a classic Japanese style. We also appreciated the traditional yukata robes provided – a lovely touch that added to the experience. Service was excellent. At check-in, the staff took the time to explain the facilities and house rules thoroughly and with great care. As for breakfast – while not overly abundant, it was thoughtfully prepared and reflected the elegance of traditional Japanese cuisine: simple, healthy, and refined. All in all, we had an exceptional stay. We’d love to return in the future and highly recommend this unique and historic ryokan to anyone visiting Arima Onsen.

大変快適に過ごすことができました。古い建物ですが手入れも行き届いており趣のある空間でした。初めての有馬温泉でしたが、鉄分の茶色とナトリウムの塩分でインパクトは最高でした。大変気持ちよかったです。宿泊施設の浴場はこじんまりとしていますが清潔で何度でも入りたいお風呂です。年頃の長い髪の娘3人にはシャワーの水圧が弱く長々とシャワー台を占領してしまいました。食事は器も味も素晴らしかったです。朝食の黒豆豆腐の湯豆腐は味も提供される器も大変趣がありました。

これまでに何度か利用させていただいたことがあるという前提でコメントします。あくまで主観です。こちらのお宿は金泉のお風呂もさることながら、施設の雰囲気やしつらえ、料理のもてなしなど、どれをとっても大変満足いくものでした。何よりも、玄関に入った瞬間からこちらからスタッフに声をかけるまでもなく、細やかな気配りと丁寧な対応で、こちらが必要としている以上のことを洞察し、対応頂いたことを今でも鮮明に覚えています。そのうえで今回の宿泊も大変楽しみにしておりましたが、入館してこちらに気がつくも特に何か声をかけるでもなく、目があっても何か対応するそぶりもなく、こちらが聞く事に対して一問一答でただ返してくるだけ。早朝にエアコンの効きが悪くなり、フロントに連絡するも温度設定を変えてしばらく様子を見てほしいとの対応(さすがに高齢の連れがいたため、その後にヒーターをお借りする事ができました)朝食の案内も慣れていないせいか小さな声でこちらが何度か聞き返さないといけなかったこと(決して混み合ったり慌ただしい状況ではありません)など、同じ宿泊施設でも人の対応がかわるだけでこんなにも印象が変わることを学ばせていただきました。なお、何かしらのご事情はあるのかもしれませんが、個人的には朝食の湯豆腐をとても楽しみにしておりました。以前は炭を炊いた木箱に丁度良い湯加減の豆腐を頂きましたが、今回は器に入った状態で頂きました。もしかしたら朝食のメニューが違ったのかもしれませんが、こちらも朝食をとるという所作のなかにもてなしが以前は感じられたのですが、今回は普通の朝食でした。なにぶん、以前のもてなしが良かっただけにどうしてもそれと比較してしまい、今回は残念に感じました。ちなみにシャンプーやボディーソープ、コンディショナーのボトルのデザインは直感的に区別する事がむずかしく、それぞれのアルファベットの初めの1字が側面にデザインされていることやボトルの上部にテプラで記されていることに気がつくまで時間がかかりました(ただでさえ浴場は照明が暗めに設定されていたこともあるかもしれません)。このあたりはもう少し利用者と物とのインタラクションがうまくいくようなしつらえになると良いかと思います。

We enjoyed our overall stay in this traditional onsen inn. The lady who showed us to our room and explained how to make use of the onsen was very kind and helpful. Dinner was a special experience as was the Japanese breakfast. Our servers were attentive and very polite. It was helpful how they explained the dishes to us. I’m afraid, however, that the lady who intercepted us upon arrival was not so charming. Her attitude was rather brusque as she demanded us to face the camera without explaining that it was a thermometer. In fact, the front desk check in experience was below the standard of service one would expect at this price point.

自家用車での宿泊でした、専用の駐車場がロープウェイの近くと少し離れていましたが送迎車もあり、また対応して頂いた方も話しやすく良かったです。チェックイン時も予定よりも早く通常は連絡を入れるべきでしたが、連絡を入れていなくとも快くチェックインさせて頂きました。料理は夕食と朝食でしたが両方ともとても美味しく大満足でした、娘が誕生日でケーキの追加注文も快く受けて頂き娘には良い思い出になったと思います。お風呂は半混浴と下調べ無くうかがったので聞いた時はビックリしましたが注意点を守れば気持ちよく入浴できる珍しい温泉です(通常のお風呂の先に温泉がある)、私が入ったのは21時頃と朝の３時頃だったのでほぼ貸し切り状態でしたので妻と楽く話す時間を過ごさせ頂きました。旅館の近くはすぐに土産物店が並ぶ場所なので早めにチェックインして散策するにはもってこいの場所です、ご当地ビールや食べ物がたくさん有るので夕飯まで時間がない方には目の毒かもしれません。

My hopes for this property was unexpectedly exceeded. Centrally located in the heart of Arima; friendly and courteous staff; spacious room with surprising amenities; great breakfast; fantastic onsen with steam room. I've been to many great onsen hotels & ryokans in Dogo, Nikko, Kusatsu and Beppu -- and this hotel is very worthy of 5 stars. I will come back again!

Wonderful stay, the rooms are beautiful and well appointed. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding; taste, quality and presentation exceeded our expectations. They provide a yukata as well as toothbrush, hairbrush and razors with shaving cream. The private onsen was a great experience, both the silver and gold baths are fantastic, very few people when we used it and one time was just for us. Very attentive and helpful staff at the front desk. Highly recommended.
