Very handy location near to Samson Mall, local bus stops and Rider Express pick up point. Great hot tub/sauna. Useful boot drying racks in rooms. Good breakfast buffet and easy walking distance to welcoming eateries. Friendly and helpful staff.

Spacious, warm, comfortable rooms, breakfast to cater for all, free parking & very frequent complimentary ski shuttle. Large outdoor lockers accommodate all skis & snowboards. The hot tub is very relaxing. The village is minutes away, with several options for food throughout.

Our family of four stayed in a renovated room with a king bed and bunk beds. Our kids were very excited to sleep in the bunk beds. The room was very spacious and clean. There was a kitchenette with a Keurig coffee machine, an electric kettle, microwave, and a fridge. The hotel is very close to the village of Lake Louise. There are multiple restaurant options, gift shops, and a supermarket. The hot tub was very relaxing. The breakfast room is a bit run down as this hotel is pretty old but the food is decent. It’s great to have breakfast included. The restaurant staff very friendly. It’s not a luxury hotel but it has everything you need. Great location for visiting Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Highly recommended.

My family go to this Mountaineer Lodge every winter season for skiing and their service is excellent and the shuttle bus stops right in front of the lodge which is very convenient. Room has been updated (I think only main side), everything is exceptionally clean.

Loved the complimentary free cookies, breakfast was just ok Not impressed with the blood spot my daughter found on her sheets. The staff knocked on our door at 8:30 am while we were still sleeping!! 😩

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. I did let the front staff know that the shower curtain wasn't clean and had a really offensive urine smell...other than this I thought it was a cute little hotel in a gorgeous landscape.

This place is great if you want to see the sites at Lake Louise, as you can walk over to the few shops and restaurants around and take your bus up to see the lakes. At first they put us in a tiny closet room next to the laundry and vending but after complaining about that room, another guy was super nice and redirected us to a room more worthy of the high price. Our upstairs neighbors sounded like a herd of elephants but I think that was just unlucky. The hot tub was a highlight, super clean and relaxing after hiking or skiing. Overall, great location and nice rooms.

In a good location with shopping and dining nearby. The rooms do not have air conditioning. They do provide a fan. The rooms are clean and have been updated. Nice soaker tub in the bathrooms. However, we were in the rooms that you park in front of. So not much distance between your room and where cars are parking. It was fairly quiet and the included breakfast is a nice perk to staying here.

We could hear every single footstep on the upper floor. They won't stop banging until midnight. Our kids were startled, especially when we were trying to sleep and the noise kept us awake. We tried to call the front desk several times but always "busy". They offered to move us to different room but it was already 10pm and hard to move all our stuff. We stay here annually and this time was not a great experience.

Clean room albeit on the small side. Shops and restaurants nearby and within walking distance. Didn’t have WiFi/TV for the first 28 hours due to a village outage. This hampered our plans to some extent. Overall a very pleasant stay despite the issues encountered.

Room was great, we had the bottom floor with a door right by the car. There were plenty of towel hooks which a lot of hotel/motels don't have. Good counter space, charging outlets, even the motion activated night light was nice. Only addition I'd make, speaking as a senior, would be a grab bar in the shower. Check-in was easy. Breakfast was good.

Also, they ran out of food both mornings at breakfast. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for eggs, bacon and hash browns to be replenished. High end room rate with low end service and amenities.

We had an emergency & had to return to Australia. We spoke with Hotels.com & they assured us we should get a full refund even tho it was 6 days after the hotels date for full refund. Our other hotel booked fo 2 rooms for 3 nights in Banff did a full refund but this hotel chose to keep our money, $1641.00, & stick to their policy. Even after explaining the distress we were suffering they didn't care & refused to offer any refund. When we were sure we could continue our travel our companions tried to rebook the hotel but it was showing "sold out". They then had to book another hotel for 4 nights x 2 rooms. Very upset at their lack of care. We owned motels for over 20 years & we always tried to assist any guest whose travel plans were upset. We will never use hotels.com again after their not assisting us better.

Shiela at the front desk checked us in quick. Kevin did great refreshing our rooms. Centrally located to stay 3 nights to see YOHO, Banff, 7 minutes drive to Herbert Lake to see aurora lights and 8 minutes drive to Lake Louise parking for sunrise shuttle pick up. Full hot breakfast was really good too.

Good location with easy access to Village. Friendly check-in. We booked superior room through Expedia but were allocated a standard room, which was smaller and close to noisy trains. Disappointing. Also beds were not made while we were out all day (even though a sign in the bathroom said beds would be made daily).

A collision on the TCH unexpectedly and significantly delayed my planned arrival but, once I was able to get to Mountaineer Lodge, I was thoroughly impressed by the kindness and warmth of the front staff (Otilija and her colleague, whose name I did not get). They really went out of their way to be so welcoming and accommodating, which was greatly appreciated. The reception area also had a nice array of beverages, and freshly baked cookies. I had the fortune to stay in one of the beautifully renovated rooms, which was well-equipped with thoughtful touches. This room was close to the reception area and the loud music from there could be (faintly) heard in the room but, it was either turned down or off once it got late, and was not bothersome for sleep. Wifi worked well and location was very convenient to access the various attractions and shuttle/bus service. Thank you, Otilija and colleague, for your wonderful hospitality!

We had a great stay at the Mountaineer Lodge, staff was very nice, room clean, we also received some nice towel decorations with balloons as we were celebrating our honeymoon. Laundry is also provided at the hotel. Breakfast was good too. Good variety of restaurants near by.

Staff members are very friendly, attentive, respectful and hospitable. They assisted us even before our stay in the lodge, we called for help regarding passes and parking, information at Lake Louise were provided by Roldan (staff on duty at the front desk). The hotel manager, Marlon relentlessly asked if we require anything or any assistance in the hotel. He also helped us with the list of places to visit and how to get there. Thanks to the excellent service of the staff of Mountaineer Lodge. We highly recommend the place if you’re planning to see Lake Louise and Banff.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Free hearty breakfast every morning, hot tub and steam room, right across the road from a gas station and several restaurants and shopping, extremely close to Lake Louise, view of mountains within 20 steps outside our door. Easy check in and check out. The only thing missing from the room is air conditioning but I doubt there are many days in Lake Louise that get above 70 degrees. It just worked out for us that a couple days did get into the 70s so it was a little warm in the room. If you are hot natured, you might wanna ask for a room with AC. But otherwise perfect.

Convenient location - close to xc and alpine skiing, across the road from a small shopping center with all the necessities including food and ski rentals. The rooms are well equipped and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast and parking are included. Highly recommend.

We loved the stay here, it close to everything. There is a shopping complex across the road. The tour buses to lake Louise and lake moraine also stop in the hotel or the shopping complex across the road. The rooms were updated and spacious, the bathrooms were clean.

Great stay and great staff. A bonus was the lovely included hot breakfast we didn’t realise came with our booking. Not sure why it’s only 2 1/2 as it was way above that in that opinion. We’ll definitely stay again.

The people at the Mountaineer Lodge could not have been more friendly. That was the best part of staying here. But the free breakfast was the exact same thing every day. It was the same fried eggs and sausage for the full five days that we were here. We asked if they would be changing the menu at all and the response was That they would not be changing it. That was the biggest drawback! You’re looking forward to a variety of breakfast and the variety was just not there. Meanwhile, across the street, there was the lake Louise Inn that had a full breakfast buffet and menu ordering, which would really have added to the experience at the Mountaineer Lodge.
