Underground parking is across the street, but very secure and well lit. The gym is a block away which was a little inconvenient early in the morning and had to deal with inclement weather. The gym itself was quite nice. Otherwise front desk staff were very friendly, helpful. Would stay here again.

The building is really nice, the room is nice and the staff are friendly. It was disappointing being told that I’d be receiving “two free beverages” and it being two cans of sparkling juice. Having to pay $25 for off site parking was slightly annoying, granted it’s very secured. The gym is also off site. You have to request an ironing board and iron. It just feels like for the price you pay you’re really not getting a lot.

Nice boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Excellent restaurant. Good location for us but this downtown neighbourhood has declined. Easy walk to many restaurants and shops. Delicious cookies in the room. Small lobby, Unloading zone on busy street. $25/night safe clean underground parking but located across the street.

Clean room, espresso coffee machine and creamer in fridge...not that powder stuff. The cookies were nice too. The restaurant downstairs is top notch. Great bar and lounge. The owner of the Palms was personable and his staff were all amazing. Would stay again for sure.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rialto. The kids loved the hotel, and we were all impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. As a family that values cleanliness, the bathrooms were especially appreciated — spotless. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the city. We also found it convenient to have a restaurant and liquor store attached to the hotel. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which added to the overall experience. We had a very comfortable stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Victoria!

Hotel staff was excellent and extremely helpful, property tired. Needs tidying up. Bathroom fan system needs updating, no airflow. Supply lines in the bathroom sink installed backwards and the room lacked a towel rack near the tub. Neighborhood has become pretty seedy in spite of being across from city hall. Liked the ambiance and in spite of the shortfalls would probably stay there again as the location is an attribute.

The room was nice but well used. The couch fabric had a couple of rips in it and the carpet looks like it could stand to be replaced but the bed was good and the hotel itself was quiet. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Convenient location downtown, an easy walk to the waterfront, shopping, and restaurants. Front desk staff were great, really helpful. The hotel is older but nicely updated. Our third-floor room overlooked City Hall across Pandora. Large fridge, desk, dresser, armoire - quite spacious. The Lavazza machine was a nice touch and could deliver hot water, but wasn't a fan of the plastic espresso capsules. L'Occitane products were great, and appreciated that they weren't single-use. Carpet could have been a bit cleaner, and there were a few minor maintenance issues in the bathroom that should be addressed. On arrival we were able to pull into the loading area on Pandora (one-way) and unload, before moving to the hotel's secure garage in a separate building on the other side of Douglas a half block away. It was fairly quick and painless, and that's what you get for a historic downtown hotel. The self-park option was just over $26.

impeccable suite, huge bathroom which everyone hotel suite needs, love the Italian decor with a mix of metropolitan elegance. very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. very close proximity to Chinatown, the wharf and all the shops and sights. would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again

Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Good customer service. Our room was facing the main road and it was a bit noisy at night(didn't bother us). Only downfall was the parking. It was a block over, and pay parking was limited to 3 hrs. We got lucky as Sunday was free.

The hotel building is old and floors were creaky but it was clean and our room was quiet even though there was a bar and restaurant downstairs. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean with shampoos and soap dispenser. (I would have liked a hand soap dispenser in bathroom.)There was a microwave and mini fridge, and the hotel was walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants as well as to the marina area.

We took a float plane from Vancouver and wanted to stay somewhere that was walkable to all the sights. The Rialto was in a good location. Great restaurants and shopping nearby. We had a suite facing Pandora Ave and were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. The king size bed was a little too soft for us but everyone has different preferences. We had a small kitchenette that we never used, however, we could’ve used a few more glasses. Staff were both friendly and efficient with any requests we had eg more bath towels. We ate at the restaurant once on site and food was very good. The hotel is basic in its amenities and fit what we needed for the few days we were there.

Genuinely everything about the experience was great and I loved coming here but Arlene small older lady who works at the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive during check out and it was clear she was not having a good day.. everyone else was wonderful. It’s highly unnecessary to farewell someone with such a demeanor.

It was overall a good stay. however, i had some change in plan and needed to check out two days early. I asked the front desk if I can get a refund for the two days as I have also given them three days of advance notice. I was told I wont get a refund because it's not a personal emergency but a work emrgency; and also because I booked through Expedia. Front desk asked me to call Expedia..So I reached out to expedia, and they put me on hold to call the hotel. Then Expedia let me know that hotel refused to do a refund and it's only at the hotel's discretion. The front desk later called me in my room to say sorry and that she thinks even if I spoke to the manager, she would deny a refund. It was frustrating with this back and forth, and hotel saying expedia can help with refund, expedia says hotel can refund then hotels calls me to say even manager wont authorize it. So, anyways it was not a very customer friednly situation at that time for me. I paid over a $1000 for this stat and didnt want to get nothing back and check out. all this to day, if you think life might happen and you need to check out early for any reason, this is not the hotel to stay. The room was okay but had no views or any openenness about it..another builidng and windows just outside my window so had ro close the curtain all the time. felt very suffocated at times when I woke up at the middle of the night. But I think you can ask for a room with a city view etc.

The staff were always upbeat and helpful. It felt like our comfort was their priority! They were generous with their amenities holding our luggage before check in and extending our parking privileges. They moved us to a larger room because our assigned room didn’t have a bath. It is a very secure hotel. We would stay there again!

Wish we could have stayed longer than one night! The hotel is a short walk to the harbor and close to all main attractions & restaurants. We arrived early & were greeted by Arlene, who was so welcoming & helpful! She took our bags, marked a map with many great recommendations and even pulled some strings to get our room ready early. Great experience, we will return!

The staff were incredibly courteous and accommodating. They allowed me to check in early, and even offered me a quiet and private place to eat my breakfast. After an unpleasant experience at another hotel, the Rialto was a most welcome change. Beautiful, clean, and spacious. I will stay there every time I visit Victoria from now on.

I’ve previously left a harsher review on this property, specifically because of the noise. I mentioned this to the staff on a subsequent trip and they responded Immediately, adjusting my room to a space of complete silence. The staff are excellent, lounge is nice. The location, by no fault of their own, is challenging with drug use and homelessness. The rooms show their age (creaky floors under the carpet, old dated bathrooms, etc) but is clean and comfortable when not on street side.

Noisy! No reviews mentioned that. It's on the busiest street in town with semi's roaring by at 6 AM. On the other hand it was the most convenient of locations. I loved the hotel. I was not prepared for the street noise but am glad I stayed there.

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a good size and have air conditioning. If you’re staying here, it’s best to come out of the main door by reception and walk to Government Street to go downtown rather than going down Douglas. Sports bar onsite and complementary tea and fruit offered for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

We love our stay here a lot with how convenient to walk to Victoria tourist spots but with the homeless issues around the front of hotel and surroundings just kinda made the rating lower. Everything about this hotel is very fancy but too bad about the homeless issues. I know they do no harm but while a mom travelling with just her 13 years old son, I don’t feel safe walking back to hotel after 8pm.

This hotel was very updated and clean. The rooms were well appointed and the complimentary cookies and drinks were a welcoming touch. Central heating and air were amazing and the heated bathroom floors were very luxurious. While the location is further away from the wharf than others, this was a VERY good deal for the quality. The Palms restaurant downstairs was spendy but SO worth it. Very high quality service and the menu was amazing. They have two bars downstairs and the restaurant. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel!

Hotel is central downtown near shopping and nice restaurants. The Palms Restaurant and sports bar in the hotel have great staff and food. I would request an higher floor next time we stay as there are lots of city sounds at night.

Room and staff were excellent, one thing I wish was that they had free continental breakfast instead of just coffee and fruit at the lobby. The property is beside City Hall and is walking distance to Chinatown. A little bit further is the Empress and the waterfront.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Rialto. It is a boutique size and style hotel with all the expected amenities including an on-site restaurant and lounge. Front desk was very helpful in arranging for luggage storage and advising on transportation options. Lounge was very relaxing with generous happy hours and comfortable surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rialto and plan on returning. Very well located 5-15 minute walk to lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Room was ver comfortable. The surprise was the bar/restaurant downstairs. Great drinks, food and service! So nice on those evenings when you just want a little something since they open late.
