Cool old place. Bit worn out. Don’t believe google directions from the port, it’s wrong-you’ll get there but it’s round about and hard going. Veer left go up the old winding wide stone road below and just to the left of the hotel up on the hill Staff is very nice at front desk.

Toegankelijkheid hotel niet eenvoudig met wagen en koffers. Met kleine wagen lukt dat juist maar moet je door de souk gaan wat niet evident is.

An honest review of our recent stay. First look, we were disappointed as hotel is way dated , built in 1870 and seems nothing much changed since then. There are pluses and minuses ,here are few in our opinion: Pros : - Right at the edge of the port and close to main road, near old madina and Kasbah. - Kasbah museum is not more than 5 mins walk. Old Madina 10 mins. - Open top tour bus starts and ends right in front of hotel - Excellent staff , they work really hard to keep hotel clean and immaculate - Our room was spacious with a window looking over sea and streets. - Beautiful work on wall and ceiling, craftsmanship on display on every corner of this hotel. - There are two rooms in lobby with old dated seating, I find it fascinating. - Hotel terrace overlooking port , on a clear day you can see Spanish coastal line. - Our room has an air conditioner , not the best but it was working and keep our room cool in hot weather. - Delicious breakfast - Free toiletries Cons: - .There is no road access to hotel. Taxi will drop you at the edge of the hotel on main road. you have to walk all the way up to the reception. -Stairs , and too many of them Hotel has no lift , each floor has roughly 24 steps. If you are on 3rd floor like us , you will be climbing 72 steps each time. - no room service - dated wardrobe , we didn’t use them. They were actually were falling apart - no kettle and iron in room - tv never worked - no lamp in room

The hotel is a historic landmark, located right in front of the port and in the old town. For us, travelling by ferry and without a car, it was the most convenient choice. Close to the medina, the Kasbah and built on the city walls. The building is just like a museum - the tearoom and breakfast room are just incredible. We got a quadruple room on the third floor with great views. The room was comfortable and clean. As noted by others, the hotel does not have a lift, and furthermore access from the post requires climbing a few flights of stairs. Access by car is possible through the old city (a local taxi will get you there), but not straightforward. It may not be to everyone's taste but we were extremely happy of our choice and loved it.

This is a terrific, beautiful old hotel. My second stay here. The staff were very helpful. The small street up to the hotel was closed due to some building renovations, so getting a taxi was a little inconvenient.

This property is a fort built in 1800s, its unique and beautifull with great interiors, overlooking the city and the ferry terminal. Management is very bad, we had booked a room for 3,the beds were like you see in a motel, hair on the pillows, stains on towels,I went and complained about the room. They moved us into another room with same issues, stains on bedsheets hair on pillows,I had to go and complain again and get them change the sheets in front of me.The bedsheets,pillowcovers and towels also look like they were from the 1800s, I will never go back to this hotel. Expedia should give me a free 2 day stay as I had to suffer this situation.This is an insult to us,after booking through expedia and paying in canadian dollars. They do not have a lift, you have to climb about 50-60 stairs to get to the hotel and then another 20 stairs to get to your room if you are on the first floor.Climbing 2-3 times a day can get you exhausted.

Pas d’ascenseur il faut être tres sportif pour pouvoir y accéder et utiliser les escaliers de l’hôtel pas recommandé pour les personnes âgées ou qui souffrent de problèmes orthopédiques ou même des gens qui ne pratiquent pas d’activités sportives assez souvent ( on arrive a peine a respirer une fois a la chambre) L'équipement de l’hôtel est dans un état délabrant très ancien et PAS CONFORME du tout aux photos sur expedia Le personnel de l’accueil et les femmes de menages sont gentils et aimable Pas d'espace parking à l’hôtel car il est situé dans l’ancienne medina ce qui le rend difficile pour se déplacer de l’hôtel au parking le plus proche Le prix est largement excessif par rapport a la qualité de la prestation et du service

Mooi gelegen hotel met prachtige mozaïek beklede muren. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht te been zijn. Veel trappen en geen lift. Voor het hotel te bereiken vanuit de betaalparking zijn er 90 trappen.

I can't think of anything positive to say about our stay at this hotel other than it's convenient for the port. Our bathroom was dirty when we arrived, our bathroom door handle had been torn off and filled with tissue so couldn't close, the shower was freezing cold and completely flooded the entire bathroom. When we spoke to the hotel staff about this, they said that there was nothing they could do. The hotel was incredibly noisy- you could hear every voice/footstep/door opening/closing. We were also woken at 4.30am by excessive noise outside the hotel.

Hôtel à fuir très sale on ne peut pas rester dans la chambre tellement ça sent les égouts et une forte odeur d urine manque d hygiène chambre pas faite rideaux cassés toilettes qui fuit bac à douche degueulasse moisissures Clim fonctionne mal changement de chambre 4foismais toutes semblables petit déjeuner horrible café aucun goût lait frelaté viennoiseries pourries terrasse qui pue vraiment séjour horrible ne devrait pas avoir les 3 étoiles photos non conformes à la réalité ce fut un cauchemar personnel de chambre qui s interpellent d un bout d un couloir a l autre en parlant fort et faisant énormément de bruit sans se soucier de la clientèle armoire cassé miroir cassé tout est d un autre temps beaucoup d insécurité autour de l hôtel et beaucoup d escaliers pour y accéder tout en servant de pissotiere pour les locaux traînant autour on devrait revoir le classement de cet hôtel je ne comprends la note qui lui a été attribuée car c mensongère cet hôtel devrait devenir un foyer pour sans abris mais pas pour les touristes et expédia ne devrait plus le proposer sur son site surtout n y aller pas

Struttura esternamente e per posizione meravigliosa. Camera assegnata terribile: umidità sulle pareti, abbiamo spostato il letto dei ragazzi per non farli dormire attaccati alla parete umida e c’erano insetti morti. Tanta polvere, accessori del bagno rotti. La cosa peggiore è stata la puzza nella stanza dovuta all’umidità. Le camere dei nostri amici non erano meglio. Per fortuna siamo stati solo una notte. Un vero peccato perché ha grandi potenzialità

A colonial gem in the old town. I stayed twice, the first time in a large room, with beautiful furniture and the second room more of a modern feel. Both rooms were spotless. The breakfast was amazing. A huge variety of options for veggie and non vegetarian and you can have this on the terrace overlooking the harbour. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

You feel like you've gone back in time. The staff was great, room was clean, quiet, and the hotel is located very close to the marina and the old medina (market area). The combined environment makes you feel like you're in a movie at times. The breakfast was very good, having food a Westerner and a local would both appreciate. The seating area was also situated high in the hotel, and it had a beautiful patio which provided a picturesque, romantic view. I would definitely stay here again.

Great room, floor above the lobby with a little balcony. Looked recently repainted and decorated.

Lovely older property. Very walkable area with the Medina right there. Only issue was that we could hear our neighbors in the other rooms and it was noisy outside in the late pm and early am but i would stay here again. Very clean and staff is accomodating and breakfast was good.

A BAD EXPERIENCE, LACK OF PH0NIC INSULATION, LOTS OF NOISE, YOU HEAR EVERYTHING, IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP, POOR QUALITY OF THE BEDDING

The Continental is a very old hotel and it shows in every aspect. Don't trust the pictures for the room. The amenities are very limited, the room we were given had a Bed, nightstand with light and a tv with remote and storage for clothes. The bathroom was clean the room was clean. However there was no rug or carpet in the room or any chairs for sitting as pictured in the advertisement. If you will enjoy staying in a museum then this is a great place to stay.

A weekend trip to amazing Morocco. I chose the hotel based on the history and the location. The history aspect is there in full. Unfortunately this beautiful building is not maintained as it should. Its in many ways outdated and many things just don't work (electricity, aircondition etc). However, if one doesn't care the facilities but only needs a place to sleep, this a good option. The location of the hotel is perfect, just next to Medina ( the old city). The staff of the hotel is remarkable friendly and caring. Despite all the lacks and flaws I recommend this hotel to couples who are interested on history and the feeling of the real Tanger.

The first day after we returned to the hotel room, the towels were replaced and all our cash was missing, around 2000 euros. We know it’s the cleaners or the staff but they did steal our money and when I asked to speak to the manager, there was no help provided I’m still trying to fight this

Location is great, but stuff is incredibly sneaky. when we asked for a taxi to Tanger med for the next morning, the wana be concierge gave me a price of 450 dirham (45€), when I told him that we only paid 250dirham on our way to Tanger , he said no not from Tanger to the port of tanger med. When I asked the security guard what the usual price is to the port of Tanger med the guard told me max. 200 dirham and that the hotel even has taxi companies working together with them . The next early morning that concierge came to us and offered us a taxi for 300 Dirham, because I was about to take a taxi out of the hotel . My complain is not about the money, 45€ is not the world , but about that specific person , that tries to rip you off . I mean the hotel is already not the best , no elevators, old, stinky and on top you have someone trying to rip you off. It really gives a bad taste to you vacation. We stayed there from the 9-11th of September. This incident happened in the night of the 10th September. I just want to make the management of that hotel aware , what sidelines your stuff are having in that hotel.

Am Ende einer Reise durch Marokko hab ich mich für das Continental entschieden da es nur ein paar Gehminuten entfernt von der Fähre nach Tarifa liegt. Man merkt dem Hotel sein Alter an aber genau diesen Charme macht es aus im Gegensatz zu „Influencer“ Unterkünften. Der Blick aus dem Zimmer auf die Bucht war fantastisch. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Ich würde sofort wieder hier übernachten.

Bel hôtel historique qui reste "dans son jus". Bel emplacement. Calme. Chambres spacieuse et jolie vue. Petit déjeuner très modeste. Pas de frigo, ni de bouilloire/tasses/eau dans les chambres.

Es un hotel antiguo q conserva el glamour de lo q un dia fue y ya no. Pero me encanta, es de esos lugares q te da buen rollo☺️ El desayuno deja mucho q desear. Ni una sola pieza de fruta😞😞. En un país que tiene fruta para aburrir. Compramos 1/2 kilo de fresas por 0,70€. Buenísimas😋

What an amazing place. Where Winston Churchill also stayed and am sure it hasn't changed much. Fantastic service, a very big room and a quiet nights sleep a few steps fron the Medina. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic with a huge array of cooked and continental options.
