The location is perfect for exploring Singapore. Right in the middle of three MRT stations and you’re surrounded by bars and restaurants. That being said, it is a little loud at night, didn’t really bother us with ear plugs in. However in the morning there is a ringing from the temple down the road which can’t be helped by the hotel but if you’re looking for a lay in and a light sleeper, I’d avoid this area altogether! The room was basic, the bathrooms at this hotel are wet rooms but it’s fine. I would stay here again if we wanted to come back to Singapore!

It's not at all like the pictures make out. Inside you have no idea it's a historic hotel. Just feels like a cheap run down hotel. It's overpriced. No breakfast . No sitting area. Bed and shower are good. Location is fantastic in middle of Chinatown .They have a bar downstairs which is very noisy . I think there are better choices at this price point in that area

Nice hotel in a great location. Susan was an excellent host. Nothing was a problem for her. She organised a restaurant booking for us away from the touristy area which had great chilli crab and other tasty dishes at a reasonable price. There is also a cosy little bar attached to the hotel with comfy lounges. Plenty of restaurant and bar choices in the area.

Staff are very nice. From the cleaning lady to the reception. location is an advantage. The windows are not soundproof hence you can hear the people loud music outside. Affordability it is very good for budget conscious travelers.

The hotel is in a great location near to restaurants, bars and metros. Other than that very poor. Room was tiny even though we paid for a deluxe room. Mould on shutters and other areas, duvet didn’t actually fit the bed meaning we were fighting over it in the night!! Had a balcony with no seating and room was over the bar with music blaring out till the early hours and the cleaners start around 5 am and are cery nousy

Not for relaxing but if your backpacking like us and mostly stayed outside then I would recommend this place since it’s very close to food places like Chinatown complex and the MRT. Bathroom is moldy, comforter is moldy, and curtains are moldy.

Gute Anbindung an die MRT. Ansonsten ein ziemlicher Reinfall. Wir hatten 3 Zimmer. Die Sauberkeit war grundsätzlich ok. Der Reinigungsmitarbeiter war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Alle 3 Zimmer hatten massiv Schimmel sowohl an den Wänden als auch in den Badezimmern. Die Klimaanlagen waren extrem verschmutzt, die Luft roch dadurch komisch und auf dem Boden darunter fielen die Dreckpartikel aus der Anlage. Für ähnliche Preise kann man deutlich bessere Unterkünfte finden.

La stanza è più piccola di quello che sembra dalle foto, la doccia e il bagno sono uno sopra L altro e il materasso, i cuscini e le lenzuola non sembrano molto puliti. La sera c’è rumore fino alle 2. La zona però è carina e vicino a Chinatown.

Svært lite rom, doen er inne i dusjen og det var slitasje på vegg og tak. Vi fikk sjekke inn tidligere, men resepsjonisten var ikke særlig hyggelig. Også mye støy. Hver kveld er det full musikk fra baren ved siden av hotellet og hver morgen er det bjeller og trompet fra tempelet i nærheten. Det var sånn sett rimelig, men ville nok betalt litt mer neste gang for litt bedre komfort

Good budget hotel for one night stay but bathroom is extremely small you basically shower almost on top of the toilet lol , area is so noisy if you’re light sleeper be aware!!! bars close around 12-1 am and the noise is loud just use ear plugs ,i would only recommend if you’re really tight on budget since everything in singapore is very expensive

The room are incredibly small, it’s very har to move and I had difficulty also in find a place for my luggage (a small trolley). The shower is on the roof of the bathroom, so once you use it it flood all the bathroom. Unfortunately, my shower didn’t get the hot water (while the sink had it). The hotel is ok, it’s been renewed short time ago and it’s in a very good position. There was a strange smell in the elevator area.

One look and we ran! Bedroom little bigger than the bed. No wardrobe or chest of drawers. Copious stains on carpets in hallway. Shower hose over the toilet pan. Not a good area. Awful experience. Fighting for refund from Expedia, lets see if they can be decent about this awful, awful hotel/hostel.

Works for a cheaper stay in singapore, and it is nice to at least have a window for a decent priced room. We were there over the weekend though, and there was a lot of noise from the bars, and street. It was very, very loud. Also there were barley any electrical plugs that worked in our room, which was very annoying.

Convenient location with less than 5 mins walk to Chinatown food court and temple, 8 mins to metro. Susan, the owner, is super friendly and respectful. Room 403 is clean and sufficient with a king size bed, super comfortable pillows, and nice AC. Ensure to put out the sign for the staff to make up your room every day before you go out. They will also refill with fresh towels and 2 free bottles of water. Would recommend to others for a relaxing accommodation.

This was an atrocious excuse for a hotel - upon arrival the toilet seat was broken, there was brown water leaking from the toilet on the floor of the shower, there was black mold, flies and spiders in the room and on the walls. When asked to switched rooms, the staff said there were no other rooms and then proceeded to send a staff member to look at the issues who was completely high and incoherent, then she proceeded to come to our room and offer a measly 10% off of the stay for these issues. To make matters worse there was a full on DJ and club next door with music blasting through the hotel until the late evening and for the cherry on top, there was a crackhead slamming on the door down the hall from 3:00am to 6:30am - I had to call the front desk at 6:30am and tell them which is wild as there's cameras on each floor... which clearly are not in use. I'd recommend staying on a nice piece of cardboard on the side of the road before I'd recommend staying here again. Avoid at all costs!

Susan was very helpful in providing tips on where to eat which I really appreciate. The hotel is in a great location near metro transit and within walking distance to major attraction. Highly recommend this place!

The location is perfect for exploring Singapore. Right in the middle of three MRT stations and you’re surrounded by bars and restaurants. That being said, it is a little loud at night, didn’t really bother us with ear plugs in. However in the morning there is a ringing from the temple down the road which can’t be helped by the hotel but if you’re looking for a lay in and a light sleeper, I’d avoid this area altogether! The room was basic, the bathrooms at this hotel are wet rooms but it’s fine. I would stay here again if we wanted to come back to Singapore!

The room are incredibly small, it’s very har to move and I had difficulty also in find a place for my luggage (a small trolley). The shower is on the roof of the bathroom, so once you use it it flood all the bathroom. Unfortunately, my shower didn’t get the hot water (while the sink had it). The hotel is ok, it’s been renewed short time ago and it’s in a very good position. There was a strange smell in the elevator area.

The hotel 1929 is convenient for chinatown, and transportation. The area is nice but bedrooms are directly above a noisy street during evenings. I was kept awake for hours on a Saturday night, and wasn’t able to change room. I had requested a quiet room so the hotel staff did refund me for some of the cost, due to the noisy room.

It's not at all like the pictures make out. Inside you have no idea it's a historic hotel. Just feels like a cheap run down hotel. It's overpriced. No breakfast . No sitting area. Bed and shower are good. Location is fantastic in middle of Chinatown .They have a bar downstairs which is very noisy . I think there are better choices at this price point in that area

Super Hotel in Top-Lage (Chinatown, auf der Pub-Straße) und großartiges Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Das Zimmer war sauber und größer als andere Hotelzimmer, das TV funktionierte (mit Englischen Sendern, z.B. News umd MTV; privates Badezimmer mit heißem Wasser und genug Platz zum Duschen. Alle Fenster können geöffnet werden, was mir persönlich sehr wichtig ist. Früstück kann für 10 SGD hinzugebucht werden. Great area and super convenient to travel around the city from. The neighbourhood has lots of unique dining options. Cheap local eats are just a few minutes away in the Chinatown area. Room is decently clean. Small, but comfortable. But if you're out and about, then it's no issue. My bathroom was a wet bathroom, aka toilet and shower in one room. It is noisy at night since the sounds of the bar and restaurants come through. Keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper. All in all, a good budget choice for a short trip.

Nice hotel in a great location. Susan was an excellent host. Nothing was a problem for her. She organised a restaurant booking for us away from the touristy area which had great chilli crab and other tasty dishes at a reasonable price. There is also a cosy little bar attached to the hotel with comfy lounges. Plenty of restaurant and bar choices in the area.

Flur wie im Geisterkabinett Zimmer winzig, ohne Ablagefläche, ohne Sitzmöglichkeiten Bad bestand aus einer Toilette, darüber war der Duschkopf, somit hätte man sich beim duschen aufs Klo setzten können. Es war nach dem duschen alles komplett nass. Bloß nicht nebenan das Frühstück in Anspruch nehmen- Katastrophe! Lage des Hotels war gut. Man kann die Metro gut erreichen & zu Fuß Singapur erkunden

The room is very small and not much room to move around. No bed but only using mattress on the floor cocept. Washroom and shower in one small area, and the sink dripped water whenever you used water. Strong paint smell as they were doing renovation. Not impress at all.
