Miyajima Seaside Hotel

The property is dated but the view is breathtaking. The staff is courteous, helpful with welcoming smiles. Yoshino is so polite and courteous. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Great staff, great hospitality, great quiet location and super convenient bus system. The onsen was also relaxing and peaceful.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce ryokan avec diner et petit-déjeuner, tout deux excellents. Le diner est servi en chambre. Le onsen est agréable avec vue sur un mini-jardin. Le personnel a été au top. Le service de navette vers l'embarcadère est rapide et pratique.

We stayed a night at this lovely hotel during our Japan vacation. We felt so welcomed and well cared for at this Miyajima Seaside. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us and answer any questions. The hospitality was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Other features we loved: the shuttle service was perfect. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for it. The onsen was terrific and exactly what we needed after a long day. Dinner and breakfast were a fun adventure and very immersive. We loved our stay at Miyajima Seaside Resort.

Wir hatten zwei wunderbare Übernachtungen in diesem Ryokan! Ja, es ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und ihm würde eine kleine Renovierung gut tun, allerdings ist das Essen und vor allem der Service excellent! Top Organisation! Da merkt man die Liebe ins Detail! Vielen Dank für die tolle Gastfreundschaft! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

5/26（日）に一泊しました。こちらのホテルの口コミを見るとスタッフの対応がすばらしいと言うコメントが多かったのでそれを信じて予約しました。 宮島に渡るフェリーから電話をして荷物を取りに来ていただけたので、日中の宮島観光は身軽で楽しめました。 建物は新しいわけではありませんが、手を入れてキレイにされていましたし、やはり何よりスタッフの皆さんが全てにおいて親切で温かい対応をして下さいました。 「ハートフル」という言葉がピッタリだと思います！ ただ、お風呂のシャワーが時間が経ってもぬるくてここだけが残念ポイントで設備の欄を☆４つにしました。 後は満点です！ 立地は少し中心地から離れますがお部屋はオーシャンビューでしたし静かで良かったです。 ロビーの外にあるハンモックもゆっくりできました。 また行く機会があればぜひまたお世話になりたいお宿でした。 スタッフの皆様お世話になりましてありがとうございましたm(__)m お陰様で宮島を楽しめました♡

Imagine you’ve picked up a yellowed copy of National Geographic from 1972. You see an article titled “Serenity by the Sea: Discovering the Timeless Charm of a Seaside Ryokan in Miyajima”. The photos show a traditional hotel with the fashionable colours of the 70s: brown, beige and yellow. That’s what the hotel looks like even today, with almost no updates: including to the furniture and bathroom facilities. I feel a little guilty criticizing the place, since, as other reviewers have said, the staff try hard. The shuttle service was good. The view was okay at sunrise. Also, the other guests (almost all non-Japanese) looked happy with their yukatas and the traditional food. However, based on the price and marketing (which almost makes it sound like a resort), I expected the standards to be higher. As others have said, the bath facilities are really mediocre and outdated. The futon was nothing like the comfortable ones at other ryokans. The food would be impressive for your first meal in Japan, but not for your 10th. Also, the room stank. It should be aired out between visits, at least. So if you want to do a little time travel, come here, but don’t expect too much. I’m only posting this because if you only look at the most recent reviews, you may get an inaccurate image of this place. Look at the one and two star reviews as well: things haven’t improved since then. This was our only poor experience in a Japanese hotel, and it was way too expensive for what it offered.

They picked up our luggage at the ferry port. That allowed us to do some sight seeing before the check-in. When we were ready to go to the hotel, the tourist information center helped to call the shuttle again. The place was absolutely clean. Our room was spacious with a view. Dinner and breakfast service was awesome. Dinner was served in the room by a very nice lady who explained all the courses in the multi-course menu before leaving us to enjoy the meal and returned just in time with the dessert. We also enjoyed the onsen. It was next to a small garden. We were given yukatas on arrival. Overall a very relaxing and memorable experience.

This hotel was as advertised: at a distance from the ferry, secluded from the tourist sites, and an authentic Japanese experience re: meals, onsen, and sleeping setup. The facilities are somewhat dated, but the onsen was great and tolerant of tatoos. The food was plentiful and the on-site store had a lot of souvenirs at the same price as elsewhere on Miyajima. It was definitely the least comfortable night we had in our three weeks, however. Having access to the anticipated dinner and breakfast menu during booking would also help manage expectations.

ホテル自体はフライが大浴場なども清潔で快適でした。 接客も細やかで感じが良く、ベビーグッズ(シャンプーやバウンサーなど)もあり、乳幼児との旅行にも適してると思いました！また宮島に滞在する機会があったら宿泊したいと思いました。

客室もロビー等も清潔で快適、スタッフさんたちは皆さん気配りがありサービスが良く、良い滞在になりました。

Excellent staff and service. Food was delicious. Facilities were as expected at this price point. It was great that they provided transport to and from the pier. WiFi was a little weak and unreliable. Main issue we faced were insects in the bathroom when we first checked in. Had a kill 10 of them and a couple more showed up later.

清潔で過ごしやすいホテルでした。 閑散期でしたが暖かい接客で再来したくなりました。

Everything was amazing. The staff are very kind and friendly. Food was delicious. Futons were comfortable. Transportation into town was top knotch. Everything was awesome. I fell in love with this place. It is very special and I hope to return for a longer stay.

The staff at the hotel were very attentive and friendly and the food was great. We especially enjoyed having dinner served in the room. The hotel itself is showing a little wear but the room was large and I liked the sitting area overlooking the water.

Wonderful property. Listed as a hotel but definitely more a ryokan. Meal served in room…staff came in to set up bedding. Attentive and friendly staff, from greeters to front desk to housekeeping, restaurant and drivers. Arigato!

Very nice traditional hotel in Miyajima. We liked the overall experience and being able to stay on the island overnight. It is a bit isolated and the shuttle to the ferry and the main tourist area runs every 30mn. Quality of Wi-Fi was not great. The rooms could ask gain from being renovated.

Stayed overnight whilst on Miyajima and had the Kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast included. The room was a traditional Japanese style with the futon beds made up for you after having dinner in your room. We had an ocean view room with large windows allowing you to enjoy the view. The staff were superb, friendly and very attentive. The dinner was beautiful and delicious, we were lucky to visit during oyster season, the deep fried oysters were particularly nice. A very handy shuttle bus is provided to and from the ferry terminal.

Beautiful hotel on a beautiful island, my family only stayed one night but it was enough to fully enjoy the traditional japanese style of living; The futon beds were very great!!! And the traditional dinner and breakfast provided was a unique experience for us all, we loved it!

Convenient shuttle for getting from the ferry to the hotel or simply sending luggage ahead to the hotel. Also came with a free dinner at the hotel which was pretty awesome. Hotel staff was very accommodating!

The service at Miyajima Seaside Hotel was the best we have ever experienced! We stayed in a traditional tatami room. Dinner and breakfast was included. Our beds were set up while we were at dinner. The food was fresh and amazing. The attention to detail was impeccable. The staff were so helpful. Highly recommend at least one night here!!

It is ryokan on the sea, which is ráér. Overall, a well-run establishment. Excellent shuttle service between Miyajima and hotel, friendly, but dinner space had a stark ambience, property could benefit from renovations.

We really enjoyed our stay in Miyajima Seaside Hotel. Its our first time taking our 1 year old on a true vacation with just us and picking this hotel made a big difference in our enjoyment. The hotel felt like home we almost stayed an extra night. Thank you to everyone who helped made our stay wonderful especially the ladies in the banquet hall who took time to talk and play with our little daughter. Definitely would recommend.

Great property. Loved that the shuttle picked us up from the ferry and back. Breakfeast and dinner was delicious and my husband and I loved the view from our room. There were so many deer around the property !

Fantastic service, great food for dinner and breakfast, and a great location! It’s very close to the center of Miyajima but it’s just far enough away to be quiet. This is a great spot and a great way to have an authentic Japanese inn experience.

Friendly staff, lovely dinner, a bit remote but the shuttle bus runs frequently. Rooms were a bit dated and could use a refresh.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. The staff were incredible and very accommodating. The shuttle service was very convenient and made sure to wait for everyone. The dinner and breakfast were both amazing, it was really great getting two meals full of local foods. The view out the hotel window was fantastic, we could sit and just look outside for hours at the deer walking around the beach. It was a perfect mix of traditional Japanese hospitality with modern comfort and convenience. Our favorite hotel we stayed at during our two weeks in Japan.
