The Capistrano Coast House

Bad experience. When we arrived at 7:30 pm, we had to wait 10 minutes for a desk clerk. When she arrived we were told our room wasn’t cleaned yet and we’d have to wait 30 minutes+ for cleaning and that she would help them clean. When our room was “ready” the tile floors were all wet and really slippery. Worst yet, it was as cold as a meat locker and the thermostat didn’t appear to work. After calling the desk and getting a full voicemail box, we went to the lobby and the desk clerk came up and notified us that it was broken. There weren’t any other available rooms. The clerk was polite and did what she could. We couldn’t sleep in a freezing room, turned in our key and found a hotel down the street. We reported this to Hotels.com and asked if we could get a refund of our $212 One Key Rewards. They spoke to the management and they declined. We were offered a $50 One Key Reward for a future stay. We would never go back.

I really enjoyed my stay, the room was very cozy and well maintained. Breakfast was very tasty and the coffee was good.

Lovely room and stay! The staff was super helpful and friendly too. Beds are very comfortable. Loved our patio with an ocean view.

The rooms are nicely remodeled. There is great character and charm to the entire property. Parking was limited and we had to park on street. Staff were very attentive to any needs we had and were prompt in helping us. Our room had double doors adjoining our room to the neighbors so we could hear conversations and their tv. The view of the ocean is nice and despite being on PCH traffic noise was minimal.

Great location w parking, steps from the beach, but not getting much luxury more than that.
