Sadly, the property has been allowed to deteriorate significantly. The swimming pool is dangerous, with cracked tiles, and filthy on the bottom. The so-called sun deck is dirty and shabby. Yes, the wonderful art work remains - and that's about all.

Great hotel with unique atmosphere. Was a bit noisy during the early hours of the morning with some people thinking it was party time for everyone. Only ‘negative’ slowest lifts I’ve ever encountered. With that off my chest I’d stay again next week.,,

Lovely hotel in convenient position. However I booked parking for one car, when we arrived no parking available, told very limited available. We were told to use the Como car park across the road, fortunately it was the weekend and parking was not so expensive, but had it been during the week would have been VERY expensive. So would not choose to stay at the Olsen again.

The hotel is lovely with a small gym. The major problem is the parking. The hotel seems to provide more access than spaces. this meant that on a few occasions and both nights there was no parking. We were able to find street parking during the day, but at night there is a problem. In the end the person on duty stack parked the car and we had to leave our key with them.

There was no parking available and if it was the car could not be moved once parked. The area does not have adequate parking upon arrival told car park is full find something yourself. Poor service hotel is tired and noisy as room was next to a sports field and residential apartments

This property was a waste of money. It was so dirty; there was a used bandaid in the bathroom. The room was small and generally felt dirty. And the curtains had holes in them. Generally gross. Customer service was also bad. Took ages to bring breakfast and food was just ok. I do not recommend.

Really liked this hotel - room was compact and comfortable. Throughout the hotel had lots of art on display. Modern TVs you can stream from your phone on. Location is great and minutes walk to lots of good restaurants or shopping. Staff were friendly although an issue with my bill did take nearly 2 weeks to rectify, but does not change the overall positive stay.

Was really excited to stay at The Olsen but our room was near a lift so it was very noisy. We could hear every time the lift would move and strange noises through our walls. I would recommend asking for a room that is not next to the lift well.

I like the Olson as the room we get is big to accommodate four of us and we love south Yarra. However, there are issues that don’t get addressed. The shower has very low water pressure and the hot water runs out quickly. Also, the air conditioner is very noisy and you have to turn off at night which means the nights get very cold in Melbourne winter. Otherwise, the stuff are lovely.

I attended the Olsen on the day of my booking and provided my ID at reception. The person working mentioned there was no booking under my name and that there were no rooms available. I called the following day after reviewing my booking to see if a mistake had been made on my end and the girl I spoke to said that she had found the booking and would arrange a refund to be processed. She said she would call back the following day with an update after speaking to the manager. No one had contacted me and I followed up one week later and the next person I spoke to said there was nothing they could do. She said that I would have to contact Expedia directly to arrange a refund. I was disappointed as I had fully paid for the booking and it was due to their mistake that I was left without a room for the day and they seemed unwilling to assist when I followed up.

Property was great. We stayed new years and the hotel was full and an elevator was down and couldnt be repaired due to no fault of the hotel. The staff did the very best they could and even though the hotel was overwhelmed we still managed to get checked in early and a late check out. Loved the lolly station in the lobby and the balcony on the room. Gorgeous hotel.

Fabulous stay. Great service at reception, easy parking. Difficult to reach by phone, difficult to connect to housekeeping and room service via phone. Having said that reception did eventually call me back. I would stay at the Olsen again. Great location.

Due to flooding at the Olsen we were moved to the Mantra on Russell Street. The communication was terrible to find out which Hotel we would be staying at. We didn’t get parking as it was full and had to pay $100 more in parking. I wouldn’t recommend the Mantra on Russell Street the customer service was terrible

Such a lovely hotel, great location, however stayed on the 3rd floor and you could hear all the noise from the street. There’s a rooftop bar across the road and you could hear people leaving and being rowdy. You could also hear all the trams going past.

Very well designed studio room. Very quiet. Restaurant serves an awesome breakfast & coffee. Would like to see a dedicated elevator for the hotel staff. It could be a long wait when the housekeeping staff was going to their floors w/ the carts. More hooks & towel racks needed in the bathroom if you’re participating in the towel reuse program.

Convenient to be near our daughter’s apartments . What I didn’t like was having to pay extra for things on the breakfast menu !! Also pictures deceiving on the pool as it looks a lot bigger , also it showed there was a jacuzzi but guessing that was just for penthouse !
