Ibis Styles Brussels Centre Rogier

I have usually liked Ibis-hotels: they are not luxury, but always good and value for money. However, in this hotel more than one thing went wrong. First, credit for the hotel that they had a room ready in the morning, as I had told to arrive early. And it was calm, as asked. But - the extremely strong smell of mold in the bathroom was not acceptable (room 602). Luckily they gave another room, which was not quiet, but thanks to earplugs I slept well. The shower was not working properly, waste of water to wait for 5mins to get a decent temperature for water. The check out day the cleaning lady knocked on my door at 9am to ask if I was already leaving. I didn’t confirm the check out time, but I assume it’s later, as everywhere. When leaving, my payment (paid at arrival) wasn’t in their systems, and the lady asked if I could find the receipt (somewhere on the bottom of one of bags). I showed then the payment from my banc account. Mistakes can happen, but these were just too many. The thing that was nice, the coffee machine and hot water at the lobby. And the location is handy. The elevator could be a bit faster..

newly renovated rooms smelled new location near shopping shops we forgot to ask about checking out early no information or just at least simple reminder mentioned from receptionist during check in we struggled to find the hotel mentioned where to check out in the message would suggest to give the instructions or remind visitors upon check in while reception area is being renovated otherwise Hotel is comfortable to stay

The hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment, thus the low reviews about cleanness. The room was good, but the way to it led through a dusty and smelly construction area on the ground floor. The corridors of the hotel on the other floors also do not smell the best and lack ventilation.

Stay quite regularly. Big improvements since last stay. Some work still ongoing in parts of the property but not intrusive. Staff friendly and helpful.
