I’m not going to slam the hotel rather tell you about my experience there. Location is decent, 10 minutes to the train station and mall. The front of the hotel looks like a homeless shelter. The reception area is a drive through window which is open from 7am-630pm. You get a key for the room not a card. Our lock was falling off of the door. Opened the door to a smelly box of a room. The tops of the curtains were covered in a black substance, not sure if it was mold or dust. The bed was hard and the pillows had no support. Went to bed but didn’t get any sleep as the elevator room was next to our room. Sounded like 2 pieces of metal grinding into each other all night long. Asked to move but was told the hotel was sold out. Contacted hotels.com and they were able to get our room changed. Second room had a separate bedroom but still had dirty curtains. Kitchen was postage stamp size. No air but we did have a fan, noisy but it worked. It also smelled so we got air freshener to cover the smell. Bathroom was old but ok. The property does not look anything like the pictures on the website. It seems to be a dormitory for the college across the street. I’m not telling anyone what to do, but I would not suggest spending a penny at that place, find something better. The staff seemed friendly enough, but I would not stay there again ever. This property has been neglected for a long time and it shows. They offer breakfast but only if you tell them the night before that you want it.

I paid very little for the room, and while it suited my needs, it would not be ideal for many. Firstly, it appears to be beside a student residence, which some may find off putting. In fairness, I had bo issues on the contrary, everyone was friendly. The second issue is that while the property is close to the main train station, it is actually about 2-3kms from the main tourist area (Vieux Lyon).

Small apartment located close to Part-Dieu station and within 25 minutes walk from Parc de la Tete d'Or. Facilities, including those in bathroom and kitchen, worked fine and the apartment was clean. Fans provided for some cooling during hot summer. Working lifts helped with bags and pushchair. Wifi worked throughout stay. Good value considering location and close to shops to help keep down costs.
