Guest rooms, pool area and location are great! The lobby needs a complete refurbishment. The lobby is uninviting, dark, unwelcoming and old. It is the only reason why I did not rate it five stars.

When we booked we asked for a room with bath and they accepted our booking. On arrival we were given a room without a bath and were informed that all rooms had no bath except for 3 in the entire hotel which are booked long in advance- we booked over 6months ago. Hotel looks tired and rooms very small. No toiletries were available in the room. Staff were outwardly friendly but totally matter of fact and not helpful at all. Was not told that parking was included by reception and the porter asked me why I was paying for parking since I was a guest. He directed me to reception where happy to then stamp the parking ticket but were not forthcoming as to why I wasn’t offered the same.

Great location. A very good tidy clean hotel with a good breakfast. Rooms small'ish but good comfortable bed and clean Staff are helpful but unfortunately I did get my Bose Headphones stolen from my room during my stay so be careful with leaving valuables.

This hotel is in a safe and accessible location within Melrose Arch. The retro decor takes a while to get used to but don’t let that put you off. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast’s spectacular. The best part of the hotel is the people. From the front desk to the restaurant to the laundry facilities, everyone is incredibly friendly and efficient. I have stayed here multiple times with my family and alone, and will keep on coming back. Very good value for money.

I like the location of the hotel , close to shooping center and lots of good restaurants around it. what I didnt like about the rooms, three wasn't enogh sapce to store your clothes and in the bathroom no room to leave your toiletery which made it very inconvenient.

The staff is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment you enter the hotel every single person no matter the position is ensuring you are well taken care of. The front desk was so amazing. The dining room staff could not have been more accommodating. The servive was top notch and the food was incredible. The omelets were my favorite, cooked to perfection. The chef remembered my order the next day Impressive!!! The bellhops were very efficient and friendly. Try this hotel you will not be disappointed. Also the decor is straight out of a architectural magazine, very beautiful.

The exceptional staff - they were friendly, well trained, and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The area is one of the best in Johannesburg. I can't believe this Hotel currently only gets an 8.6 on Hotels.com it deserves a 9.0.
