We had trouble finding the parking garage! One phone call and Jennifer got us there step by step. Very helpful to say the least. We were given a warm greeting upon arrival. The staff were all friendly and pleasant to talk with. Our room was very clean and inviting. There were beautiful candles lit in the bedroom and bathroom. A table was set up with fresh fruit and a pitcher of water. Elegant napkins and tableware were provided. Our two day stay was really wonderful.

This is an INCREDIBLE hotel...from the initial communication, arranging our ground transportation, being met by Jennifer and given a history of Matera to the stunningly beautiful cave we slept in, this was a perfect place. The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. The setting of Matera is stunning. My only regret is that we only had one night there. I am already trying to plan a return trip.

Helt fantastiskt hotell, med ett fantastiskt läge i Matera/Sassi. Rummet beläget i en grotta var väldigt trevligt med unik spartansk inredning som matchade läget och hotellet perfekt. Personalen var oerhört trevlig och hjälpsam. Frukosten och frukostmatsalen var även de av mycket stor behållning, med ett lokalt matfokus på högkvalitativa råvaror i säsong. Möjlighet till säker parkering på annan plats (Valet parking koncept) med tillhörande transfer till hotellet. Rekommenderar stark detta hotell som en lite annorlunda men helt fantastiskt pärla!

We stayed in Le Grotte della Civita #8 It was incredible! It truly is a cultural, restoration project. The caves are cozy, well lit, candles, soaking tub (I miss). Their afternoon Aperitivo is lovely. The breakfast is phenomenal. The staff goes above & beyond to assist you. Definitely recommend parking at their recommended parking area (they will come & collect you & your luggage). Thank you Sara, Paolo, Brunella Emilia, Pasquale. They will assist you with tours, actives as well

Séjour exceptionnel ! La chambre était parfaite , nous avons été accueillis avec un plateau de fruit et une bouteille de vin, l’ambiance était parfaite avec des bougies allumées dans toutes la chambre ou plutôt la grotte , l’expérience était incroyable, tout est restée naturelle , Le petit déjeuner est parfait , avec beaucoup de choix , on peut déjeuner à l’extérieur avec une vue magnifique ! Nous avons été accueillis par Christina ! Qui parle très bien le français 😁, elle nous as fait une petite visite avec l’histoire de l’hôtel ! Parfait ! Il y a un parking à l’extérieur du centre historique qui travaille avec l’hôtel et ils mettent des navettes à disposition ! Je recommande a 100% pour un voyage romantique !

Minha expectativa era maior, embora a vista e a autenticidade do projeto são lindas. Achei o banheiro muito pouco funcional, mesmo que a intenção seja conceitual. Tomamos banho e molhou banheiro inteiro. Saímos para jantar e ao retornar percebemos que entraram para limpar o banheiro, o que, mesmo sendo bom neste sentido(é necessário), é ruim, pois não é comum, então deixamos tudo nosso exposto. Café da manhã maravilhoso. Acho que faltou alguns itens mais sofisticados para a proposta e também não tem climatização no quarto. Também acho que o site deveria informar sobre o custo do estacionamento (50 euros a diária) e você depende da disponibilidade do transfer para combinar horário pra se deslocar até hotel. Enfim, quando a gente investe num padrão de hotel assim, normalmente sentimos a vontade de nem sair do hotel, o que não ocorreu. Mas é lindo!

This property deserves a big thumbs up. Cave rooms were very well designed with a lot of attention to detail (lights, candles, custom shower gels). Breakfast was one of the best I had recently with a lot of local cheese and fruits instead of banal buffet items. Ricotta was simply amazing. Staff was polite and helpful. I would definitely stay again. The only recommendation I would give is that since each room is unique I would put each room and its images separately instead of room category.

It is a very special hotel. Very unique you will never stay in such a place with so much history and so well kept. If you’re a bit of a claustrophobic, I would suggest you to take a Palazzo room rather than a cave room.

Great property and staff. Would suggest having some type of basic sundries and a mirror in bathroom with lights, tough to see when shaving or wife doing hair etc. Breakfast is amazing, location is perfect in the Sassi. Highly recommend!

The most beautiful and unique hotel. We were taken care of with their excellent concierge before we even got to Italy. The room was exquisite, the food beautiful and I would recommend the candlelit dinner for two. It was the most wonderful and romantic experience.

Sextantino was fantastic. Staff and services were incredible. Entire staff was amazing , very polite, accommodating and going extra mile to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We had 3 rooms and each was so cozy with great futures ( cave shower was my favorite). And I have no words to describe our special private dinner , that was delicious and the most amazing dining experience. Thank you everyone who mad our trip so special. We definitely be back.

We had trouble finding the parking garage! One phone call and Jennifer got us there step by step. Very helpful to say the least. We were given a warm greeting upon arrival. The staff were all friendly and pleasant to talk with. Our room was very clean and inviting. There were beautiful candles lit in the bedroom and bathroom. A table was set up with fresh fruit and a pitcher of water. Elegant napkins and tableware were provided. Our two day stay was really wonderful.

This is an INCREDIBLE hotel...from the initial communication, arranging our ground transportation, being met by Jennifer and given a history of Matera to the stunningly beautiful cave we slept in, this was a perfect place. The most beautiful and unique hotel. We were taken care of with their excellent concierge before we even got to Italy. The room was exquisite, the food beautiful and I would recommend the candlelit dinner for two. It was the most wonderful and romantic experience.

Everything was outstanding - property, condition, staff, food, response to questions and follow-up communication. We strongly recommend this - certainly worth every cent. The parking in town with the shuttle is expensive but there is no other easy way to do it.

Sextantino was fantastic. Staff and services were incredible. Entire staff was amazing , very polite, accommodating and going extra mile to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We had 3 rooms and each was so cozy with great futures ( cave shower was my favorite). And I have no words to describe our special private dinner , that was delicious and the most amazing dining experience. Thank you everyone who mad our trip so special. We definitely be back.

I wish that I could give 10 stars to Sextantio! The property is stunning, the town is wonderful, the views are breathtaking, and the staff is incredible. If you are visiting Italy, Matera is a must. We stayed in Le Grotte della Civita #8 It was incredible! It truly is a cultural, restoration project. The caves are cozy, well lit, candles, soaking tub (I miss). Their afternoon Aperitivo is lovely. The breakfast is phenomenal. The staff goes above & beyond to assist you. Definitely recommend parking at their recommended parking area (they will come & collect you & your luggage). Thank you Sara, Paolo, Brunella Emilia, Pasquale. They will assist you with tours, actives as well

This property deserves a big thumbs up. Cave rooms were very well designed with a lot of attention to detail (lights, candles, custom shower gels). Breakfast was one of the best I had recently with a lot of local cheese and fruits instead of banal buffet items. Ricotta was simply amazing. Staff was polite and helpful. The hotel is incredible and the staff is as well. We absolutely loved our stay. It was truly a unique experience. However, guests should know that because the hotel is literally incorporated into the caves, it can be physically demanding climbing all the stone stairs. People with mobility issues will definitely struggle at this hotel
