Hot tubs were nice and hot.

We were very happy with our stay in the 4-bedroom house. The hot tub was lovely and the included breakfast was especially nice.

The rooms are in houses. Each hose has 3-4 big rooms that shares common area, kitchen and hot tub. It’s excellent for group of friends and Families.

Lovely hotel in the highlands near Selfoss. Incredibly stylish in an understated way. Highlights included the individual outdoor hottubs with water pumped from underground and the breakfast, which was the best we had at any hotel in Iceland. Dinner at the restaurant was also good, but pricey. The location is perfect for easy access to the Golden Circle sites.

We enjoyed our stay at Grimsborgor. They have hot tubs you can use in the evening. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was nice too. They have a bar, but it is part of the restaurant and you are served by staff when they are not delivering food to tables. This may change depending on the number of guest staying at the hotel.

Lovely hotel. Chalets based around a central reception. Near a lake but we didn't notice till we left. I was expecting a private hot tub but it was shared with 3 other rooms in the chalet. Breakfast was good.

We had the most wonderful stay at hotel Grimsborgir! The rooms were spotless and very roomy. The hot-tub was also a great addition and lovely to be able to use it in the evening after a busy day of exploring. The staff were extremely friendly and the food (both the included breakfast and paid dinner) was amazing with lots of options. The location was excellent in a nice quiet part of Selfoss. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights from our room!!

Hot tub is useless. Didn’t turn on. Water was warm not even hot. Room has cheap ikea furniture which doesn’t reflect the price. There was hair stuck in the shower curtain. Only thing was the buffet a bit far and hard to reach area so if you need things make sure you buy nearest grocery store is like 1hr away.

Nice hotel but room was not clean. Needs to be better managed

Great hotel for visits to the golden circle. Close to Selfoss so easy to drive there for meals and visits. Rooms are very clean and proper. Very good breakfast.

Beautiful hotel with several cottages. The cottage we stayed in had several standard rooms, other cottages were suites with several bedrooms. Check in was easy. Room was clean and modern. Rooms have a covered patio and access to a hot tub. Breakfast was amazing and served in the main cottage. Elegant room and lots of breakfast options.

Hotel room was nice, daily housekeeping not so great, missed lots of items. Mini bar expensive. Location is ok. Breakfast as per other reviews really good.

Stayed for 2 nights in August and was very impressed. The rooms were modern, clean, spacious and comfortable. The whole place feels brand new. The hotel is not the cheapest in the area but it was worth the extra money for some extra luxury on our wedding anniversary. We had hot tub access and it was lovely to sit outside in the hot water on a cool and windy day. Grimsborgir is a great location for visiting Thingvellir national park. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day. We'll stay here again when in Iceland.

Our stay was mostly pleasant. The room was spacious, clean, and conveniently located. We appreciated the accommodating staff and the complimentary breakfast. The restaurant offered decent food options as well. It's a great choice for families or larger groups of friends. To enhance the guest experience, we suggest considering a few improvements. The room temperature regulation could improved since the thermostats do not completely shut off and it could be warm at times. Sunlight block out curtains during the summer months would be helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We never heard other guests. It felt really private. The staff was all friendly. The food at the restaurant was great. The breakfast buffet was very good but was the same everyday. The location was perfect. We had a rental car, shout out to Sixt, and hit so many beautiful sites. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Hotel Grimsborgir.

It was wonderful overall. We were exhausted and in need of sleep. However, you could hear everything through the walls of the adjoining rooms. Everything else was good.

The hotel is secluded which I like but there were no food options unless you drove for 10-15 minutes. The room was unbearably hot. We slept with the balcony doors open as we could not cool the room with the thermostat.

Staff and Restaurant were very nice. Our only issue was the pillows on the bed were very small and uncomfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel and dining were the best we experienced during our two weeks in Iceland. Staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and proficient.

Excellent friendly staff

We arrived to be told the restaurant and bar was closed for a party so no facilities available. Given the location, we found this completely unacceptable. We were told we had been emailed 2 days in advance to be informed of the situation but I had not received the communications. After a long day of travelling our only option was to drive away to find food. The staff were unhelpful in this situation, we got offered a box to take from the party buffet. The rooms were quite basic and the breakfast was poor. Way over priced and over stated in quality.

1- menu needs to add some more simple choices like: Hot dogs (Icelandic hot dogs are awesome!) Grilled cheese sandwich -fancy 3-cheese with tomato would be great 2-the male desk person was lovely & accommodating 3-there was a female desk person with no manners, or empathy for customers, sharp & rude. Ie: I was confined to bed with Covid for 3 days & went without a meal because she didn’t allow my order of bread (which was the only thing I could keep down) to be taken to the room by my husband. What was that? Only allowed to have bread in the dining room, she said.

We had a snafu with expedia after our flight was changed and we needed to move the reservation, but the hotel was so kind and accommodating. Switching the date for our non-refundable room. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was super friendly. We didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant but it looked amazing. Centrally located and easy street parking.

Staff was great, they let call us to the room, to let us know when the Aurora Boreal was present. The best! Room Deco, quality and amenities were awesome. Loved this place

Hotel Grimsborgir is located near the kerid crater. It was my intention to visit the crater as soon as it opened in the morning, but I got a little impatient and couldn’t wait (it didn’t open until 10 am). That’s on me, though, for being the way that I am. The location is perfect for those who are traveling along the Golden circle and wish to further explore the area. There is also a lookout/view point nearby that overlooks the river, along with a beautiful view of the hills and beyond. It is absolutely worth the stop. I wish I had booked more than one night at this hotel. The rooms are situated in small buildings, around a loop, with every room/apartment getting a beautiful view, regardless of which direction it faces. The biggest bonus for me was that the bed was absolutely, amazingly comfortable! Traveling around Europe for the past few years, I always dread how firm the beds will be as they tend to be on the very firm side throughout Europe. The bed had the perfect amount of firmness and fluffy cloudiness and I slept wonderfully! The room came with a wonderful bathroom that included a nice-sized shower. The only negative here is that the shower curtain could use to be a bit heavier to prevent it from attacking you while showering. This, of course, only happens when you take a hot shower and it’s colder outside the shower than in. I just happen to be one of those females who takes a shower the temperature of hades… (I write too much and it got cut off. )

About 15 minutes outside of Selfoss. Rooms were bright and comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast and the hot tub. The dining room appeared to be busy but I didn't eat in it.

This is a country hotel with its own restaurant but close enough to Selfoss (11km ) for more dining options. The room was clean and modern, the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definately stay again.

Hótel was modern and attractive with comfortable bed, however thought hotel was in town but was rather 10-15 minute drive to town, also no coffee maker in room only hot water with herbal teas. Breakfast was delicious with large variety of breads etc

Wonderful place to stay near selfoss. It was a great location for all the sites we planned to see in the golden circle. Breakfast at the restaurant that was included was excellent. Bonus hot tubs at night. Room was spacious and pretty. Best part was we saw northern lights!

We liked the piano player at dinner, although the meal was very pricey for the food served.
