Really great place. The setting is beautiful. A horse farm. The service was excellent. Didn't have dinner there but I should have because breakfast was amazing. Maybe 50 different items. Will hopefully stay again.

Beautiful property and great cabin! We will stay here on future trips for sure! Loved the view and all the horses. Cabin had little kitchenette, but they also offered an breakfast option at the main building. Staff was very friendly. I do wish the hot tub was located closer to the cabins as it was too cold to shower, head to the main building, get in the hot tub, then head back to the cabin while in wet swimming suits.

No AC. Shower did not have shower lip to contain water. Water went all over bathroom while showering due to slow drain. Was unable to squeegee bathroom completely, even with multiple tries. Sulfer smell throughout room due to water not draining in bathroom. Was unable to use hot tub due to it not being warm. Decent breakfast - good yogurt bar. No shoes in hotel.

Great guest houses. Main office has a dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Must reserve before the meal so they know how many to cook for. It’s a horse ranch and you can watch the horses or book a horseback trail ride. Hosts are very hospitable and units are clean and convenient for a family or a couple.

I enjoyed our brief stay here. The hot tub was an especially nice feature. The property has a shoes off policy at the front door just to be aware.

It was amazing, super friendly staff, we took advantage of the laundry service and breakfast. The laubdry service was quick and all our clothes were neatly packed. Breakfast was good, with several options to choose from.

Nice property. The only issue was that we were asked to take our shoes off when entering which made it quite inconvenient if we had left something out in the car. The cost to have laundry done was quite high so we opted not to have it done. The rooms were well appointed. I wanted to take advantage of the hot tub but the weather prevented using it.

Our family of five had a great night at Hestheimar. Even though it was -10C we braved the hot tub and had a wonderful evening. The staff provided us each with bathrobes to use at the hot tub and showed up with wool hats to keep our heads warm - which we definitely needed. The cabins were compact but had everything we needed. Thank you for a memorable stay!

The staff were very friendly! Signage was easy to follow. The cottage was very spacious and had a great view. We had a cat visitor during our stay. They have a hot tub which was clean and easy to access. Overall great experience and value!

Prima plek voor één nacht. Goede bedden, prachtig uitzicht, heerlijk rustig. De finishing touch kan net wat beter. Een stoel met veel vlekken, een krom mes, een scheef gordijntje voor de keukenplank, erg veel haren overal, reservedekens in de badkamer. Maar prima voor een rondreis.

This is one of the best accommodations we stayed in Iceland during our weeklong trip. The cabins are located on a beautiful hill overlooking a neighboring horse farm. Horsing are roaming around. When weather is good, it looks like a dream. The cabins are simple and basic but kept very clean. Check-in was super smooth. Be sure to pre-book your dinner or breakfast to enjoy the family style meals provided by the hotel. My group thoroughly enjoyed the stay here and our teens wanted to go back again.

The property is ideally located and on a gorgeous farm. We loved seeing the horses (with foals!) and the cats who visited our cottage! We enjoyed the dinner on-site. The cottage was clean and basic. There are no extra frills here, but we found it to be charming for our family.

Walking around the property and petting some of the horses completed the experience. The guest houses were beautiful, clean, and secluded from the daily hustle. Highly recommended lodging in Iceland.

Great property to see the northern lights in winters. The property recently built a new wing with very modern, clean and practical rooms. You can't go wrong with this property.

Nice place, particularly the common area which is very nice with a nice view. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are simple, two single beds so not very comfortable for couples. Also the food is very overpriced dinner is 8K which is too much for what is very simple food, breakfast is 4K and is not included.

This was our second stay here - We love it. The cabins are comfortable and in a great location.

Vi var tre jenter på tur og hytta var helt perfekt for oss. Hytta var nært Reykjavik og attraksjoner på sørkysten, og var en fin størrelse med alt vi trengte. Favoritt delen vår med hytta, og det som overgikk forventninger, var utsikten og området. Hytta var omringet av hester, og det var utrolig idyllisk og de utover horisonten og de dem løpe og kose seg. Det var også noen gårdskatter som vi fikk besøk av. Eneste klagen er at kjøkkenutstyr ikke alltid var helt rent, men vi går ut i fra at det er pga. folkene som bodde der før oss. Ellers var alt supert!

We stayed in the single cabin room/suite (of which there are 8 on the hillside). You take a nice paved road in from highway 1 until you reach the guesthouse area. Everyone is super friendly and the rooms are comfortable and quaint. We purchased the breakfast add-on and that was delicious. It was a great experience as part of our travels.

The view from the cabin was nice. It was quiet and peaceful stay. Cabins had kitchenette and we enjoyed spending time with the family.

I stayed at this hotel in February 2025 for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Starting with the bad: Broken heater in Room 6: Upon arrival, the host, Stefano, explained that the individual thermostat in the room controls the temperature, and that it takes about two hours for the room to adjust. Despite following the instructions and increasing the temperature on both nights, the room remained cold and uncomfortable. It became clear that the heater wasn't functioning properly. I informed Stefano, who came to check the room, acknowledged the coldness, and apologized for the inconvenience. Cold and humid room: The room felt damp and uncomfortable, which made it difficult to relax. Outdated amenities: The value for money was disappointing. The hotel charges high prices for rooms with outdated features, including a leaking sink in the bathroom, which made the overall experience feel far below expectations. Ending with the good: Cleanliness: The hotel places a strong emphasis on cleanliness, which I appreciated. Guests are encouraged to use slippers within the hotel, ensuring a higher standard of hygiene. In conclusion, I had high expectations, but the combination of a broken heater, cold and damp room, and high prices made this stay incredibly disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel unless these issues are addressed. and Staff is gaslighting you after presenting excuses for the discomfort.

It was very difficult to find the hotel. We were calling to the hotel for directions several times and were very patiently guided. Eventually the staff member drove to meet us and escorted to the hotel.

The owners were so friendly and welcoming…they want you to feel like family. It was genuinely a wonderful stay!

The AC did not work at all and we could not sleep both nights. The owners response was to leave the windows wide open. We did not feel safe. The food is terrible. They would not even give me coffee to go. Bad property. Would not stay again.

That was much more than an equivalent meals elsewhere in the country. There were no options as the food was prepared for the group and served all at one time. The food was okay, but not worth the price.

A wonderful horse farm on a beautiful country road. Cute private cottages with a porch and adequate kitchen. We were there in the winter and lucky enough to see the northern lights from the porch. Easy to drive to nearby towns for sightseeing or groceries. Best breakfast buffet of the three places we stayed in Iceland.

Beautiful location and very convenient if traveling between south coast and golden circle. Adorable cottage perfect for a family and super clean. Only thing to beware of is decision about dinner. They offer a set menu which comes out to $60 usd per person (even children). After reading other reviews, we decided to try it expecting something really amazing and Icelandic. While the food we received tasted good and there was nothing inherently wrong with it, we were absolutely shocked at the price point for what we received... chicken curry with rice (like we make in slow cooker at home) along with some basic mushroom soup and average salad. While Iceland is known to be expensive, when we spent this amount of money at restaurants all over, it was for wow-factor food and alcohol included. This was by far the most underwhelming meal of our trip and one of the most expensive. I'm sure some of their meals are sure to be worth it and taste excellent, but if you are going to commit to that amount of money on a meal (the price per plate of expensive fine dining), then it would probably be best to know what it is ahead of time. I know we would have never chosen that meal and price had we been told. Overall, this is a lovely spot and I highly recommend as a place to stay as long as you plan ahead for dinner :)

We got a 2brm unit. I was really nice and staff were great. Being honest our son showered for 10mins a then the next person got a minute and it was arctic water. The three of us left had to boil pots of water and bathe. It was an experience. You need to book ahead if you want dinner on site at 7pm as there is nothing else in the area to eat or shop before you arrive and there is a little kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal. The breakast/dinner which you have to drive too is beautiful, cosy hall and the breakfast food was great. Overall a really nice experience.

This was our favorite stay on our entire journey of 8 nights and 6 different hotels. The food was amazing! When I got home I cooked lamb goulash and scalloped potatoes. It wasn't as good as yours, but reminded me of our wonderful stay. Thanks.
