Although the description said there was an elevator, it isn’t in all the buildings . The person at the desk worked hard and found a room on the ground floor that we needed since one of our party couldn’t climb steps. In the first room we had, there was no battery in the smoke detector and it kept beeping.Maintenance did fix it. Also, the bathroom window wouldn’t stay closed. In the second room, it appeared that the insides of the smoke detector were missing - Food in the restaurant was very good ! All the staff members we dealt with were very nice and helpful

This was by far the dirtiest hotel room I have ever seen. Mold in the bathtub. Greasy handprints on the headboard. FILTHY carpet that wasn't vacuumed prior to arrival or after the room was cleaned during stay.

The room was big and for the most part clean but for the floors. Floors were very dirty just by looking at my socks and after a bath, walking to the bed my feet turned brown!! I wiped my feet with a towel and the towel became very dirty. A good mopping would have made this review excellent. Lastly we had neighbors upstairs who woke at 5am and made so much noise for over an hour which was very frustrating. They must have been room 329

Bathroom dirty, floor left feet and baby hands all black. Pubes on towels, tub dirty and bathroom over all dirty. Tv didn't work and lights. Only one light by the balcony worked. I told the receptionist and all they said was "oh sorry".

Not a great stay to say the least. Room was so outdated and walls were dirty. Bathroom wall had speckle falling off with mold behind it. Remote control did not work and one of the outlets did not work. Room had terrible musky smell when I arrived. Less than basic accommodations at a price too high for what the room is worth.

Liked the pool...it was clean and (I think heated....) And the courtyard was nice with lots of trees and plants. The tap water tasted terrible...but I think that is the city, not the hotel. The wait staff was kind enough to fill water bottles with filtered water from the restaurant. The floor in our room seemed rather dirty. My socks were gross looking if I walked around the floor at all.

A great quiet place to stay. We were in the back where there was no traffic. Our room (125) had a patio and faced the pool and the grounds looked like you were in Hawaii. Seriously. The room was clean and big, we also enjoyed the fact the bathroom had two sinks and one in the bathroom and the one outside which is more of a large vanity counter. We came for our daughters college graduation, so the prices were high but they are cheaper any other time.

The Lemon Tree Inn has is in a great location, with very pretty grounds. The outdoor area is beautiful, with a really nice patio with table and chairs, overlooking a well kept garden and pool area. The room was nicer than expected, particularly for an older hotel/motel. The bathroom has been somewhat updated, but it was still a bit old. However, the carpet was awful. It was damp to the touch. We had to put towels down on the floor in order to walk on the carpet. It could be that the room was just very humid as there appears to be no air conditioning, but it was so off putting, we wouldn't walk on the carpet without shoes or without stepping on towels or blankets.

Outdated rooms, no microwave, low quality TV, VERY low water pressure for the shower. Paid for a poolside room that ended up being on the 2nd floor. I asked about it and they responded that it’s poolside you just have to take stairs down. I expected poolside to be a walkout from your balcony like the pictures show.

Lemon Tree Inn exceeded our expectations for our stay in Santa Barbara. Spacious room with balcony overlooking lush, well kept garden and swimming pool. Free onsite parking a big plus. Located at the top of State street is only a short walk to theain historic sights, shops, restaurants and bars and the beach. The biggest surprise was the Lemon Tree's restaurant. Meals can. Taken inside or in the courtyard garden. The selection of dishes was impressive and the food was fresh, very good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Waiting staff were attentive, but not intrusive and very friendly. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at the Lemon Tree Inn and if you manage to find a room.then you should not hesitate to book.

Rooms really need updating. Carpet ripped, bathroom door wouldn't close, no USB ports any where. But, the staff was amazing. The restaurant was wonderful with the best service ever. Our TV wouldn't work & someone came right away to fix. Very friendly.

For the price not worth the stay and made me sad because I liked the front desk and staff immediately. The rooms are stark, lampshades broken and dirty, balcony full of bird mess and the sidewalks and stairs are dirty, paint chipping and exterior needs major paint work. No outlets near beds, loud walking in the Hala’s and rooms around. So bummed because location is super cute.

This is a hard review. My room was old and disgusting. A friends' room, newly remodeled was lovely. All the staff were amazing. The grounds around the pool had a lot of broken items (heaters, tiki torch, chest pieces) and my bathroom was almost not usable, old, mold looking bath tub and floor. The room smelt like a nursing home. Friends room was remodeled and very nice. Both rooms cost over $350 for the night.

Room 210 = no internet. The internet doesn't reach to this far end of the property. Simply stated, no internet. Also, Room 210 is next to State Street. Zoom, zoom noise from the traffic.

The room was miles away from reception and from the lift. The man who checked us didn’t explain things properly and we ended up having to carry our suitcases up stairs. There were full rubbish bags all around the site. No information regarding breakfast or holding deposit. Man on reception sullen and didn’t seem to know what he was doing.

Front office staff was very helpful in assisting with a request. The property grounds are green and well manicured. There is a balcony or patio (ground floor) for units. I did not use pool although it is in the courtyard. The area is convenient and relatively quiet but with many restaurants close by.

Supermarkets and shops are walking distance, also a variety of food options. The people at the front desk could be trained better, and the online system that offered to check out virtually was not good. It still required me to go to the front desk and talk to the grumpy woman to finish the check out process.

Check in was easy and the people working at the desk were friendly. We were originally placed in a room that was not up to par but it was a mistake and they fixed it quickly. The room we ended up in was off the pool courtyard and it was very clean. The cleaning crew came in each day to freshen up and make the bed which we haven’t seen in a lot of hotels lately. Overall it was a great stay!

When checking in we were told our room was ready but when we went to our room , house keeping was still cleaning the room. I was not upset at all because I understand these things happen. The house keeping women told us that it would be about 5 more minutes. So I waited another 15 minutes before checking again. However, she was still cleaning the room. Again I was not upset so I went back down to the lobby to wait. As I was waiting, the front desk attendant offered to upgrade me free of charge to a better room that was ready. I took him on his offer. Later that evening my wife and I went out for dinner only to return and our key card not to work. When I went to the front desk , the attendant interrogated me as if I wasn’t the person who checked in to the room. He proceeded to tell me that he previously checked an older couple into our room and they said that their were people’s stuff already in the room and “a man with a gun” was in the room. The front desk person thought the old man was joking but wasn’t sure. When I asked to speak to a manager, there was no manager on site. He was on the phone the entire time. This place is extremely unprofessional but has great potential. Also there were dirty towels and bedding in the room.

Pretty grounds, actually has lemon trees. Love that we had a balcony and could open the doors at night and have a nice SB breeze. However there was a very bright misdirected light shining into our room. I asked to have it corrected in the morning but it was not addressed. The location is not great, near east Roque- nothing up there, so have to drive for everything. Nice stay, but mostly because of location, likely wouldn’t stay again. I would try the orange tree sister location.

We asked for the two room family suite - a king in one room and 2 queens in the connecting room. The rooms were very spacious and had a large shared balcony overlooking the central court an pool area. The pool was olympic size, great for laps at the end of the day. Located on upper State Street, it was very close to the Santa Barbara Mission. The downtown restaurants and shops would be a bit far for most to walk, although I enjoyed the two mile stroll through the lovely neighborhoods.

We stayed here the night before a procedure at Sansum clinic. Our first floor room opened on to a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The pool and outdoor restaurant/ bar were busy but not disruptive. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious. It was less than a mile from the clinic and traffic was not an issue. I would definitely stay here again.

This was an absolutely beautiful room for the price, it was large, clean and had a beautiful balcony. My husband and I ordered room service and some drinks. The food was delicious and the staff was beyond friendly from check-in to the staff that brought the food. Would definitely recommend.

On the first night of my stay, we went to dinner. I ordered soup, And it was brought to me Luke warm at best. The waiter never came around to check how things were, And when he did come around with the bill, I mentioned that I had had this soup in front of me, which is now cold as it was never actually hot. He did offer to reheat it, but I am not one to send food back to the kitchen, Since the server acknowledged the issue, I would’ve presumed that he would’ve credited the bill for the cold meal that I did not finish, But I was charged regardless. Needless to say for the remainder of my stay there, we chose to eat offsite for every other meal.

Hotel is nice, clean and in a great location. The tiki bar set in the garden area of the hotel has a tropical feel to it, a great place to relax and have a few drinks, happy hour not to be missed.

The morning clerk had no idea when the restaurant opened for breakfast. He told me 9:30 am which as it turned out was clearly wrong. People were eating when we checked out at 8:15. Ended up spending money elsewhere. Decent hotel; big room.
