The hotel was quite cute, in a very old style, but was not run down. The lifts had doors you need to manually close, which was pretty cool, although if someone forgets to close the doors when they leave, the lift will not operate until someone closes them, which could mean climbing 4 flights of stairs to your room. The location is superb, next to a 24-hour Carrefour and the subway station, so it was quite convenient when travelling by subway. There is also a vehicle stop area right outside the hotel, which makes it super convenient to wait for Ubers. The room was decently clean, and it had aircon, which was a god-sent in the BsAs heat. There is not much by way of amenities, but it was comfortable enough. The staff were really unfriendly though, and didn't smile much and were not very helpful. The front door is always kept locked and you need to catch the attention of the receptionist to open the door, but they're not always at the front desk, so you may have to wait and knock on the door for a while before the receptionist appears. That wasn't great when we were rushing back to grab our bags to go to the airport..

Hotel muito bonito, com instalações e decoração antigas. Tem um museu no subsolo. Bom custo benefício. Os quartos tem 2 andares, então quem é pcd ou tem mobilidade reduzida deve se informar primeiro se tem algum quarto acessível. Para quem não tem restrição, recomendo muito. Localização ótima.

This property is very charming. It doesn’t offer all that much but the charm makes it memorable. This part of town is great for tourists, nightlife, food. It’s actually very safe to walk at night you see kids and families walking past midnight. Police are around as well. I don’t like having to be buzzed in and out every time but I understand since it is on the corner of a busy street. But sometimes you might have to wait a minute or two to get let in. One time saw a family locked out late at night and the receptionist was asleep. I haven’t seen him since though. Probably a good thing because we were worried we may be locked out one of these days if he falls asleep again every time we went out late. Fortunately it didn’t happen to us. That being said I’d stay here again.

This is a good place to stay. Clean and nice, 24 hrs front desk. Pros: location, big rooms and luggage storage. Cons: Old building, no food allowed in the room. Walking distance of the microcentro, nice restaurants and the subway.

Interesting quirky old building. Old cage elevator was fun. Bathroom was modern, but shower was in main room. Bed was up a narrow steep set of stairs in a loft. I liked it and would stay there again.

Minha primeira viagem para Buenos Aires e estava em busca de uma hotel com preço razoável e com significância e o La Fresque trouxe essas duas coisas. Primeiro que é extremamente bem localizado, dando muita acessiblidade a diversos pontos turísticos. Funcionários atenciosos e que resolveram as situações que ocorreram. Serviço de quarto impecável, mantendo sempre tudo limpo. O hotel em si é um espetáculo, dá pra sentir a história por lá. O formato e estilo são espetacularmente bem pensados e podemos sentir-se numa típica moradia da Buenos Aires antiga. O banheiro com banheira é algo muito bacana também pois não é tão comum em casas tradicionais no Brasil. Além disso, vale destacar a preservação da antiga fábrica que fica no subsolo tornando o lugar um verdadeiro museu onde se pode ter estadia. Como pontos a melhorar eu chamo atenção de que não tinha frigobar no quarto, então não tínhamos onde deixar água ou alguma comida para alimentar-se enquanto não estivessemos na rua. Também o fato de que para ligar/desligar ou mudar temperatura necessitamos ligar para recepção para que isso seja feito, visto que não fica controle no quarto.

A localização do hotel é o maior ponto forte, fica num ponto bem movimentado da Av. de Mayo ao lado da 9 de Julho e na frente do metro. Na 9 de Julho tem restaurantes, fast food, farmacias, supermercado 24 horas. Andamos a pé por ali sem nenhum problema. Do outro da 9 de Julho é um pouco pior. Sobre o hotel, tem uma boa equipe, arrumaram o quarto todo dia e trocaram toalhas de 2 em 2 dias, mas a limpeza em si não é boa. O local onde estava os sabonetes está cheio de manchas de sujeira, o teto e as paredes são de reboco e tijolos, então cai bastante sujeira no quarto quando tem pessoas andando, inclusive na cama. Não pega muito sol, então é naturalmente mais frio, só que fica úmido também. O chuveiro é muito bom, a cama é boa, os travesseiros são bons. O controle do ar fica na recepção e tem que ligar para pedir eles para ligarem. Muito válido para quem quer apenas dormir e conhecer a parte histórica de BsAs. Mudamos de hotel no meio da estadia porque fiquei com a garganta ruim a questão umidade/poeira/falta de sol não estava ajudando. Não iria com pessoas com problemas respiratórios/bebês/idosos, mas é um bom hotel se você vai ciente de tudo e com um bom custo.

When I arrived, I paid extra to check into my room before 2 p.m. However, the bathroom was dirty, so I had to request that it be cleaned. After that, I consistently felt that the room was not clean. To operate the air conditioning, you have to call the reception; there is no way to control the temperature yourself. Additionally, several electrical outlets were loose. I would not return to this hotel, which, by the way, it should be considered instead a hostel.

Overall this was a good experience. The only thing is that we didn’t get new towels the whole 5 days we were there. We had to re-use them. The maid just arranged the bed sheets each day but she didn’t sweep nor mopped the floor because we found the same pieces of garbage around the room every day. We didn’t pick it up just to see if she did and she never did. Sadly, we suffer of hair loss and the hair was never picked up in the room nor the bathroom. We had to do it ourselves The staff was great specially in the front desk, the only thing to improve is the room cleanliness

La habitacion en persona no luce como pinta la foto, todo viejo con olor a humedad. Wii fi no funciona. No podes manejar el aire acondicionado. Te lo prenden si lo pedis pero lo dejan en una misma temperatura y debes llamarlos para apagarlo o modificar la temperatura con control remoto. La luz del baño parpadeaba, era muy molesto. La ubicacion es excelente pero deben mejorar la infraestructura.

Rooms were very basic. The bathroom had very little space on the sink to put things. No shelf and no door in the shower. Water went all over the floor and became slippery. Only one chair on the first level, which you couldn’t even sit in because it had a hole in it. Bed was tolerable and sloped a bit on one side. Most of the lights didn’t work in the room. Room was noisy. The person upstairs sounded like they were moving furniture in clogs. Location was great. Sube right outside the door. Walk ability to many places.

After a 9 week holiday in South America and Europe I rate La Fresque as my favourite accommodation stay. I love "oldy worldy" and this hotel has been beautifully and sympathetically restored. The lift alone is an experience but without a doubt this whole hotel has character with a capital "C". The suites have so much room and the bedroom is located on a mezzanine level above accessed via a spiral staircase. The vaulted and arched ceiling was very special and appears to be a feature of older buildings in this city. The city is very walkable and La Fresque is in a prime location for sightseeing, restaurants and cafes. We found a delightful wine bar about 200 metres from the hotel on the other side of the street. Turn right and head in that direction. You won't be disappointed. The bed was quite comfortable and there was little street noise considering the proximity to the main street. The downstairs museum is well worth a visit and appears to be at capacity. There is old stuff crammed everywhere. So that's it. If you like quirky, unusual and prime position in Buenos Aires at a very reasonable price then look no further.

This property is frighteningly dangerous. Stay there at your own risk. It is very old. All the windows except 1 in my room was bricked off. Most rooms have 2 levels with stairs waxed slicker that a luge. The bathroom is downstairs. I knew the stairs were going to be a problem because I slipped and caught my balance several times until the last day where one foot flew out forward and the other went behind me and i fell down the entire staircase. Obviously, that injury put a serious damper on the rest of my trip. I had to buy a cane and foor brace. The front desk girl was very nice but clueless as to how to help. Definitely not a place for older people. More of a hostel than a hotel. The bathroom is beyond tiny. They have no iron in the entire hotel. Also, they advertise laundry which was the main reason i chose it but there is no laundry and nothing close by that you can do yourself. False advertising.

The location is excellent. Many restaurants and sights are in walking distance. There is a metro stop at the front door. The downside is the 2 storey room. The bed is in a loft area, and we did not care for that. I liked this hotel a lot. I do suggest being careful to choose a room that does not have the loft.

The location of this hotel is ideal! We loved being within walking distance of so many area attractions, restaurants and shopping. The building is interesting and artistic, very trendy. There are no exterior windows, which is a bit unnerving, but manageable.

This heritage property was in good repair but very basic. With a little extra attention it could be a very nice accommodation. It is in a very central location, with only a bit of city noise. Based on our research, we anticipated the staff being more fluent in English but this was not the case. The staff were very pleasant but not as helpful as other reviewers experienced. We were unable to get an extra pillow and not permitted to bring food to our room. We wanted to stay somewhere with a bit of character and Le Fresque certainly fit the bill.

Many, many options for restaurants and shops within a short walk. There is a subway entrance literally 20 steps from the front door. The Obelisk is nearby, too. Great location. The real star is the front desk staff. They were so very help with luggage storage. Great stay.

The hotel was quite cute, in a very old style, but was not run down. The lifts had doors you need to manually close, which was pretty cool, although if someone forgets to close the doors when they leave, the lift will not operate until someone closes them, which could mean climbing 4 flights of stairs to your room. The location is superb, next to a 24-hour Carrefour and the subway station, so it was quite convenient when travelling by subway. There is also a vehicle stop area right outside the hotel, which makes it super convenient to wait for Ubers. The room was decently clean, and it had aircon, which was a god-sent in the BsAs heat. There is not much by way of amenities, but it was comfortable enough. The staff were really unfriendly though, and didn't smile much and were not very helpful. The front door is always kept locked and you need to catch the attention of the receptionist to open the door, but they're not always at the front desk, so you may have to wait and knock on the door for a while before the receptionist appears. That wasn't great when we were rushing back to grab our bags to go to the airport..

This property is very charming. It doesn’t offer all that much but the charm makes it memorable. This part of town is great for tourists, nightlife, food. It’s actually very safe to walk at night you see kids and families walking past midnight. Police are around as well. I don’t like having to be buzzed in and out every time but I understand since it is on the corner of a busy street. But sometimes you might have to wait a minute or two to get let in. One time saw a family locked out late at night and the receptionist was asleep. I haven’t seen him since though. Probably a good thing because we were worried we may be locked out one of these days if he falls asleep again every time we went out late. Fortunately it didn’t happen to us. That being said I’d stay here again.

A localização do hotel é o maior ponto forte, fica num ponto bem movimentado da Av. de Mayo ao lado da 9 de Julho e na frente do metro. Na 9 de Julho tem restaurantes, fast food, farmacias, supermercado 24 horas. Andamos a pé por ali sem nenhum problema. Do outro da 9 de Julho é um pouco pior. Sobre o hotel, tem uma boa equipe, arrumaram o quarto todo dia e trocaram toalhas de 2 em 2 dias, mas a limpeza em si não é boa. O local onde estava os sabonetes está cheio de manchas de sujeira, o teto e as paredes são de reboco e tijolos, então cai bastante sujeira no quarto quando tem pessoas andando, inclusive na cama. Não pega muito sol, então é naturalmente mais frio, só que fica úmido também. O chuveiro é muito bom, a cama é boa, os travesseiros são bons. O controle do ar fica na recepção e tem que ligar para pedir eles para ligarem. Muito válido para quem quer apenas dormir e conhecer a parte histórica de BsAs. Mudamos de hotel no meio da estadia porque fiquei com a garganta ruim a questão umidade/poeira/falta de sol não estava ajudando. Não iria com pessoas com problemas respiratórios/bebês/idosos, mas é um bom hotel se você vai ciente de tudo e com um bom custo.

Excellent choice as a base for exploring Buenos Aires. Close to everything ... hop on hop off bus stops, tango dinner show, San Telmo market, Buquebus if planning to visit Uruguay. The room we stayed in was next to the main road, we can hear sirens, etc., but didn't bother us at all. We still got a restful sleep. Might not be suitable for everyone. However, our stay was trouble-free and staff were all helpful and kind. Happy to stay here again.

Fomos muito bem recebidos. Todos os dias eram trocados os lençóis e toalhas. Tudo bem organizado. Extremamente satisfeitos. A localização é excelente, sendo em frente à estação de metrô, próximo à kioscos, mercados, lanchonetes, cafeterias, restaurantes, casa de câmbio, pontos turísticos e facilidade de locomoção.

A experiência foi exatamente como mostrada nas fotos. A localização na Avenida de Mayo é excelente, com cafés, padarias e restaurantes a poucos passos do hotel. O hotel esta em um predio antigo, mas cheio dr historia....hotel de instalações dos quartos simples, mas ganha e muito na localização...recomendo quem irao fazer os tours a pe e de transporte público...nao tem cafe da manha, na na regiao a diversas ofertas, jnclusive um carrefour proximo.

It was a great stay, awesome location, just a few steps from the subte (the subway) and many landscapes a quick ride or bus away. Raúl at the front desk was amazing and super helpful. The only bummer was that there was no breakfast as stated on the listing.

Hotel bom, com custo benefício condizente ao preço. Estrutura boa dos quartos, não possui café mas você consegue comprar café r capuccino na máquina da recepção por um valor simbólico. Acabou a luz por um período durante a estadia e rapidamente eles providenciaram um gerador para não prejudicar a hospedagem. Recomendo

The loft room was a little smaller than expected but it fit three people and several bags just fine. The elevator, downstairs museum, and overall vibe of the hotel were great. And location was easy to walk to several areas.
The loft room was a little smaller than expected but it fit three people and several bags just fine. The elevator, downstairs museum, and overall vibe of the hotel were great. And location was easy to walk to several areas.

This is a no frills hotel with lots of old world charm at an amazing location, which was perfect for my first time in Buenos Aires. What I loved the most was that the subway was right there in front of me as soon as I stepped out of the hotel. The area is totally walkable with tons of restaurants, shopping, and grocery store nearby. What I liked the least was the fact that the hotel had no iron or ironing board. I had to buy one. Overall my experience at Hotel Fresque was exceptional for my first time in Argentina.

The hotel was clean. The loft area might not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues. I thought I reserved a room with sitting area thinking there would be a love seat or something but just had a small wooden chair. I asked staff and they said all the rooms were like that. I’m not sure what I paid extra for. The hotel felt safe as well.
