Hotel Lancelot

This is a beautiful old hotel with classical decor and furnishings. Double aspect windows in our room letting in lots of light, but with security shutters to keep it safe & dark for sleeping. It is in a great location for walking to the main tourist sites- Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Forum etc Staff spoke excellent English and were friendly and very helpful Very secure with locked gates entry.

Excellent hotel, lovely friendly staff, nice roof terrace with view of colleseum, garden area, with nice bar. Quiet location but 10 mins walk to hop on hop off bus stop 3. Lovely clean room. This hotel is a must, 5 min walk to bars and resturant and colleseum. 10 mins in a taxi ftom central rome 12 euros. Excellent price for sray as well nice breakfast. I would totally recommend this hotel a great find. Would go back definitely.

Hotel Launcelot is a green oasis in Rome, which often presents a buttoned up, locked down face to visitors. The garden patio, bar, common rooms and appointments are welcoming and calming.

Great secure parking on site for a fee, walkable distance to Rome city centre.

We enjoyed our stay at Lancelot. It was clean, the staff were polite and very helpful. There was a cute courtyard but the chairs were kinda uncomfortable. There was a small bar although we did not drink there. The breakfast was ok and they served dinner w wine that you could sign up for. The dinners were good. 8 minute walk to Coliseum. Enjoyed our stay and would return. Thanks for the nice stay!!!

Had a long journey in from US. Was very hot outside. The air conditioner was exceptional for a comfortable long sleep to recoup. Comfortable bed. Excellent service. Beautiful bar and Breakfast was delicious

The hotel was lovely with very authentic European look/feel rooms, terrace, dining and sitting rooms. We had the chance to visit with the owner at length, he was very kind and shared many stories from his family ownership of the hotel. The bar was wonderful, as was the breakfast each morning. Very close to wonderful family owned restaurants, you can literally see the Coliseum, palentine hill from the terrace. It is a little noisey in the early morning, but for us, it added to the real Romanatmosphere and our expereince of Italy. Well priced, comfortable beds and excellent service. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Lovely property very near the Colosseum, bus and metro stops, and lots of outside dining options. Hotel has a simple, but nice breakfast, dinner (must reserve the day before), and a bar for late night drinks and relaxing. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel rooms were clean and neatly maintained. Staff was courteous and ready to help anytime. Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lancelot.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely hotel! We give the highest marks for the wonderfully helpful and very kind staff! The hotel is lovely with beautifully decorated calm common areas to relax in. Our room was spacious and extremely clean and quiet and we were so very delighted to have a view of the colosseum in the distance! The bed was extremely comfortable. The heat worked perfectly during our chilly stay and our room was very cozy. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, towels were thick and soft, there was excellent water pressure, toiletries were renewed daily. Daily cleaning of room and bathroom was excellent. The breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room. There was much to offer: hard boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, lots of fruit, pastries/cakes, yogurt, juices. Also teas, prepared coffee or coffees by request. The location of the hotel is wonderful - a quiet spot in the Cielo district, at the end of a street which in opposite direction leads to the coloseum. Nearby are two grocery stores, a pharmacy, small restaurants. From this location one may walk to many of the historical sites or take the metro near the coloseum or choose taxi or bus service. It is evident that the hotel owners and all the workers take pride in Hotel Lancelot - it is run impeccably. We were delighted in our stay - the second time we have stayed at this gem of a hotel. We thank you for wonderful holiday memories! Thank you for the lovely room and lovely view! We hope to return!

We have been to Rome a more than a few times over the years and find ourselves always returning to Hotel Lancelot. It is located on a side street within walking distance of restaurants and the Colosseum. It is a lovely clean hotel with excellent service!

Atrocious! Room was tiny and the standing shower was cramped with little room for an average person. Ants in the bathroom and the door would not close. Poison powder sprayed in the balcony. Shower head not working properly. Advised the front desk and they assured me that they would take care of it but nothing was done other than screwing a new knob on the bathroom door. Place is not well-maintained and needs a major renovation. Breakfast was elaborate with a good variety to chose from.

Very charming, clean, clean and great location.

It was a cute little hotel that me and my daughter stayed at for 5 days. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was well balanced and always delicious. There isnt really any parking but for us it disnt matter since we arrived by taxi. Overall it was a nice hotel.

Very friendly staff, always willing to assist with questions, concerns etc. The location is perfect, well centered for anyone wanting to see all main attractions by walking. The room was very clean, well maintained and temps were easy to control. Will stay again next time in Rome.

The HARDEST beds we have ever had to sleep in!! Horrible for comfort! Hotel is quaint. Rooms very small which is fine for one night and service was quick - kind and efficient. Only complaint is we didn’t sleep much at all due to the beds.

I was only there for one night, but room was small and bathroom even smaller. Also not a fan of communal dining. Front desk staff was very pleasant though. Location was out of the mainstream but still noisy.

Charming hotel just a few meters away from the Colosseum. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, decent size single room and great breakfast. The only negative point was the shower which is really tiny and the drain doesn’t allow the water flow down properly. Overall a nice stay in a nice location.

The weather was unusually warm and wished the AC were cooler for sleeping. Couldn't open windows for air during the night because of traffic noise.

Lovely boutique hotel near the Colosseum. Unfortunately our room was street side and very noisy as we needed to keep the window open for cool air. Small room but adequate for our needs. Would definitely stay here again if in Rome.

Great location. Rooms were a bit tired and lacked electric points. Bathroom was dated and very small. Air conditioning didn’t work so ended up with a fan and a hot room. Bed was big and comfy. Staff were excellent and breakfast was good.

Struttura situata in una posizione strategica e tranquilla a due passi dal colosseo. Personale gentile e super disponibile. Buona la colazione, piccola ma con la possibilità di scelta fra dolce e salato . Le stanze carine e ben arredate, peccato per l'assenza del frighetto per poter rinfrescare le bevande e delle tende oscuranti,entrava molta luce.

Our first time in Rome and this Hotel did not disappoint. We found this Hotel while researching places to stay in Rome, and happened upon this Hotel. It looked like everything we were looking for. Upon our arrival the Front desk staff allowed us to leave our bags so that we could go explore the city while we waited for our room to be ready. The hotel is very close to the Colosseum so we were able to walk down and explore that area of the city. Once our room was ready we went up and were greeted by a clean and wonderful room. A beautiful small balcony with a little table and chairs sat over looking the Colosseum. It was truly a wonderful room. We slept every night almost with the doors open and the fresh Roman air greeting us. Every day our room was clean and freshened for us. Front desk staff was also very helpful and knowledgeable, always there to offer suggestions for local places to eat, and places to explore. The hotel itself is beautiful and we loved the historic feel of the hotel itself. it is beautifully decorated and felt like a little slice of Heaven. It also feels very secure as they have gated entry. Our trip was truly wonderful and we hope to stay again in this beautiful Hotel.

The Hotel should ask its employees in general to be more friendly, except for two that I prefer not to detail the others did not even respond to greetings. I also didn't like the restaurant and breakfast service, very poor and the dinner we attended the food was not good. Anyway, I found the hotel weak for its score on Expedia.

Al principio de nuestra llegada bien y después en nuestra instancia bien y al final al momento de salir del hotel para regresar a nuestro destino; nos informaron que tenía pendiente el total del servicio de alojamiento y me quedé sorprendido, les contesté que ya se había pagado todo el servicio y me insistieron que no y me mostraron la información en su computadora no pagado. Por lo tanto, ya molesto y gracias que traía el comprobante de pago en un archivo de PDF les mostre al personal, él me comunica disculpe algo paso en la computadora.Finalmente eso fue lo que nos pasó como amargura.

Nice hotel and nice service but the desk was a bit busy when we checked I. So it felt a little chaotic. They were kind enough to arrange taxis for us the get to Fiumicino and Termini.

The staff were kind, attentive, and accommodating. They anticipated our needs before we asked and made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We arrived early on a very hot day and they greeted us, helped us store our luggage, gave us a lovely space in which to wait, brought us water and even upgraded our room free of charge. It was a lovely stay and I would recommend it to family and friends!

Enjoyable ambiance sets this property a cut above my expectations. We were looking for somewhere walkable to Rome’s city center, and Hotel Lancelot is about a half mile from the world’s most famous amphitheater. Located on a quiet side street, we were only minutes from several good Italian restaurants, and the property has a fine breakfast, a dinner option, and a nice bar. Everyone from the room steward to the front desk and bartender were very friendly. Finally, the price was excellent. ¡Magnifico!—Hotel Lancelot

Stayed April 2024 for 4 nights. One of our group was sick and the staff couldn’t have been better. They brought her tea and bread at my request and told us if she needed more to call down and they would bring her more, which they did. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great and location was fantastic. I will definitely stay here again.

Staff was very helpful and courteous. Nice lobby and the breakfast has a decent variety items to choose from, everything tasted fresh. Comfortable bed. Quiet location, no noise in room, no noise from other people. Small, quiet bar off lobby for a soda, wine or cocktail. Did not like the bathroom in our room - no hooks to hang towels/clothes, nowhere to put toiletries or robe, a bit chilly (early January), and not much privacy due to the bathroom’s folding door. There are a couple restaurants up the street that have good pizza and other dishes. Metro stop is about 10-12 minutes away (walking).

“Convenient Location and Great Service” We recently stayed at lancelot hotel and its proximity to the Colosseum was perfect for us, as we primarily wanted to do a tour of the Colosseum being our second time in Rome we had already been to the other main attractions. That being said, it’s not central, hence, a fair walk to Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and the Vatican. The front desk workers were friendly and helpful, making check-in and our overall experience very pleasant. Breakfast each morning included a nice variety of options, such as brioche, cold cuts, cheese, and an assortment of fresh fruits. There were also a few nice little restaurants within walking distance, which added to the convenience. The room was clean, with comfortable beds, and towels were changed daily. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

This hotel is a gem. Family run, simple, charming, and has everything you need, all in a great location. The Colosseum is literally at the end of the street! Highly recommend.

A great location to explore, we walked everywhere (except to Vatican, which was easy access with Metro) during our 4 nights stay. Luckily the weather was good throughout our stay and enjoyed the all photogenic views. There are lots of great restaurants near by, and and also one 24hr open supermarket only a few min walk. Room is very clean, we had a nice view from 5th floor. Good breakfast was included :) We took a train from Bolonga to Termini station, then metro to Colosseo station, then walked to the hotel, But probably easier to walk from Manzoni station to the Hotel, as Colosseo station area is very busy, and was not easy to walk with luggage on the cobblestone. Hotels in Rome very expensive (even it was Oct-Nov), but the hotel Lancelot was quite reasonable and the location was fantastic, we will come back again if we have another chance to visit Rome! xoxo

It was a nice quiet hotel, lovely staff. The breakfast was great. The beds were not very comfortable. The location was close to the colosseum, However not close to any other attractions and therefore we need to take a taxi many places.

Great location, awesome staff and breakfast. We were only in Rome for 3 nights. Due to being so close to the collosium check for protests, strikes or acitivies during your stay. The Rome police will close roads that could complicate traveling by car. Once you get there use pubic transportation or walk. Subway is very easy.

Perhaps the best hotel stay ever. A perfect home away from home. Continental breakfast with pastries, bread, coffee, an assortment of meats, cheeses, yogurt and fruit was the perfect way to start the day. It was very well-attended by staff, who are the star of this hotel - warm, friendly, and so accommodating (call you a taxi, make you a cappuccino, tell you how to get places). There is a 24-hour bar (!!!) which was perfect for an evening drink after a long day walking around Rome. Take the drink to the 6th floor terrace and remind yourself that you are so so lucky as you sit among the flowers in full view of the Colosseum. Beds were firm but comfortable, location perfect for walking to major sites and the train station, bathrooms small but functional, minimal sound from neighbors, option for evening dinner is a delight when you're tired and want a quiet evening. The area surrounding the hotel is very safe (as is all of Rome) but not for foodies - only a handful of good restaurants (Contrario, PizzaForum), but there's a supermarket a few blocks away. You cannot go wrong with this beautiful hotel.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location; 5 -10 mins walk from the Colosseum & the metro & also close to buses into the centre. We would recommend the hotel although we didn't feel it was excellent overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful & the downstairs area including sitting area and the bar was a very comfortable place to relax. Our room was the triple room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. However it was tired and a little shabby and needs to be updated. Compared to the rest of the hotel it was disappointing especially as we were celebrating a big birthday. We're used to similar priced European hotels & are not particularly fussy. We wouldn't recommend this room. Breakfast was good but the choices became more limited the later you arrived rather than being replaced throughout the morning. Customers were asking for croissants and chopped fruit each morning after 9am. A cappuccino for breakfast is always a priority in Italy but they were only available from the bar at a cost. Tips - avoid the triple room & have breakfast before 9am & you will have a lovely stay.

Mindre hotel med gode værelser, god seng og god service. Rigtig god beliggenhed med kun 2-300 meter til bagsiden af Coloseum, roligt og trygt sted med flere restauranter og supermarked tæt på. Mulighed for 3 retters menu til meget rimelig pris på hotellet (prøvede dog ikke denne mulighed) Eneste minusser = en noget kedelig morgenmadsbuffet, og så var wifi elendigt - disse koster en topkarakter.

A nice property in a fantastic location, walk to colloseo and yet nice quite street. Furniture could use some updating as well as amenities. Breakfast was so so: no vegetables, coffe not great and no service staff on gand.

Where to begin?! Such a lovely boutique style hotel. The staff was amazing. The owner joined our table near the end of dinner. Dinner! What a surprise gem. It is a set meal, set price and set time. You don’t want to miss out! You can’t beat the price, $25 for 3 courses, wine, and coffee/tea. It is served in a lovely room and you get to sit with others. It’s a great way to meet people and learn about each other. It is 3 blocks from the Colosseum but still in a quiet neighborhood. I will definitely stay here again.
