My friends and I head to Playa del Sol because they have four pickleball courts on the property. We understand that Tony, who runs the pickleball program in the morning, collects around $6 from anyone that wants to play. This year, the hotel started charging an additional $3 for those that want to play in the afternoon. We will be looking at different lodging, if they continue to charge for courts that are part of the hotel.

After our first day the pool was drained and then under repair. We were not advised. Was one of the reasons we picked that hotel. Lounge chairs were also put away. Lights going into resort from town were off at night, was a bit dark if Venturing out. But food was good, staff friendly and resort kept clean.

Love staying here. Great location and option for Los Barrilles. Note, the pool is not heated in the winter months, and the wind can be quite strong until mid March. Thomas and Brenda at the office are greT and will arrange for a ride into town for dinner or drinks, or to the ATM at the grocery store which has the lowest fees to obtain pesos or dollars. Restaurant help is great. Good breakfast and lunch, and you can eat at your room or poolside. Very nice bar overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Decent WiFi at the restaurant. Great location to shopping, restaurants and the beautiful beach. Of course, the Sea water was amazing and warm - pool was chillin', like most in Mexico due to not being heated. Very good breakfast lunch place with reasonable prices. Round bar overlooking the beach was also convenient.

Check in was quick and easy. The hotel is in the heart of Los Barriles and on the beach. They have a large pool. I would definitely get a pool/ocean view room. It is worth the extra $$$. The bed was a little soft for my liking. They have a cafe/coffee shop which has food and is open earlier in the day. They have a full bar/restaurant in the evenings as well as a little palapa bar right above the beach with a great view. We saw whales breaching and playing and rays jumping, all right out in front of the hotel. The staff were all super friendly, especially Leo. A couple of things to note. Our room did not have a microwave or coffee maker. Also the water pressure is a little light and the sink drained slow. But these are small things compared to all the great things about Playa Del Sol. We will most definitely stay here again. It is 2 blocks from the main streets and there are a ton of restaurants, bars, taco stands and grocery options within a few blocks.

The Hotel is right on the beach and more than enough space for guests to spread out. We loved the chairs and table right outside our sliding glass door. That was nice for those beautiful sunrises/sunsets. The restaurant upstairs was delicious, some of the best food in town. The restaurant staff was also very nice, particularly the young man who was our server multiple nights. We enjoyed coffee in the morning from the cafe downstairs. We had a great time at this beautiful property. Only one thing, the pool deck was not swept our entire weeks stay. This caused uncomfortable walking as tree seeds were on the deck. Other than that it was amazing.

Excellent week spent at Playa del Sol! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Missed having a swimming pool that wasn't heated, but week was unusually cold and wet for Baja. I felt safe walking streets during day and having a golf cart rented was great for extended exploration. I had garden room and it was perfect for 1-2 people. Lots of fun places to eat..at Playa and within walking distances,

Very much a 3 star. Shower did not drain and no water pressure. Staff did fixed it asap. Very dated overall. However staff were very good , food was good and location / view was very good. Would likely not stay here again.

While the location was nice in a remote fishing village, it was not what i expected. The sea was to chopy to snorkle. The hotel restaurant has a nice view but it was very difficult to eat with all the flies and mos. The room was small, towels smelly, pool green with algae, the wifi and power went out four times so I could not do any work. Also the American crowd was on the rough side. I will definitely not return.

Property is conveniently located in central Los Barilles. Beautiful setting well manicured lawns and trees surrounding the entire property. Outdoor pool patio area is excellent for laying out and just enjoying the sea of Cortes view. Restaurant upstairs was excellent. Staff was out of their way friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Pricing was decent as well.

The A/C sounded like it was going to fall off the wall all night. The bathroom towels were old, stained at ratty like cleaning rags. The employees were beautiful, pleasant , sweet & hard-working people. Food was very mediocre and expensive. The rooms needed some eating utensils and a microwave. A clock in the room would have been very nice. The view on the beach was excellent . They should give guests #1 dibs on the pickleball courts. NOT the locals hogging all the courts in the cool mornings. Just wrong and frustrating not to be able to play pickleball as advertised for the price paid to stay at the hotel!!!!

The room we had looked old. We killed at least 10 mosquitoes in the room and there was no TV. We left a day early because we couldn't see playing solitaire on our phones until we went to bed.

The location is excellent for water sports, which is why I chose it. The location is close enough to the center for town where you more dining choices. Incidents of crime seem non existent, or very low at least. The rooms are a little small, but kept in somewhat decent condition, only problems were a couple of light bulbs were burned out & the hot water tap was leaking. The walls or doors are not very soundproof, so when there were people partying at the bar upstairs, or the music was blasting, or the local, early morning pickle ballers were passing thru, it was a little noisy. I wanted to rent a bike for a few days, but costs were the same as the local bike rental shop in town, but the bikes were in much worse condition. Guests at the hotel should be able to get a reduced rate to increase the chance that they will rent there instead of in town. I didn't see any bikes get rented from there the whole time & they weren't offering me any discounts. We did get a discount on Pickleball by staying there, but they made it confusing or difficult to play with the regulars or locals from town... only allowed to play on our own later on in the day when it was hot & windy. Locals seem to come from all over, which adds to the noise & foot traffic thru the resort & many times, filled the parking lot with their vehicles. Room prices are a little high; more than we usually spend on all inclusive, which will affect our decision to go back there in the future.

The hotel was kind of cute and great location. The beds were not at all comfortable, they were hard and had tissue paper thin sheets on them and no mattress pads. The bathroom had a horrible layout. Defiantly not worth $200 per night.

Had a terrific family vacation. Very accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant and we were comfortable. Even changed out our mattress on the bed for us when the bed was too hard. Staff so friendly, food was good at a decent price and we love the bar ❤️ we will definitely be returning.

The Hotel is right on the beach and more than enough space for guests to spread out. We loved the chairs and table right outside our sliding glass door. That was nice for those beautiful sunrises/sunsets. The restaurant upstairs was delicious, some of the best food in town. The restaurant staff was also very nice, particularly the young man who was our server multiple nights. We enjoyed coffee in the morning from the cafe downstairs. Had a terrific family vacation. Very accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant and we were comfortable. Even changed out our mattress on the bed for us when the bed was too hard. Staff so friendly, food was good at a decent price and we love the bar ❤️ we will definitely be returning.

No information given at check-in, just the room card. I then assumed that there would be some basic info in the room like Wi-Fi password or how to set the safe code but there was nothing. No phone in room either so each time we had a question we had to walk to reception area which was frequently closed . Most of the staff were dragging and seemed uninterested and not properly trained for hospitality. We had a Pickleball Centre behind our room literally and the noise was really loud even with the doors & windows closed from 7.45 am - 6pm each day. The shower had no shelf to place shower gel, shampoo etc. Food was great, beach area was fabulous. It is walk to town and pavements are very unsafe. We used the beach instead which was so much easier even at night.

Check in was quick and easy. The hotel is in the heart of Los Barriles and on the beach. They have a large pool. I would definitely get a pool/ocean view room. It is worth the extra $$$. The bed was a little soft for my liking. They have a cafe/coffee shop which has food and is open earlier in the day. They have a full bar/restaurant in the evenings as well as a little palapa bar right above the beach with a great view. We saw whales breaching and playing and rays jumping, all right out in front of the hotel. The staff were all super friendly, especially Leo. A couple of things to note. Our room did not have a microwave or coffee maker. Also the water pressure is a little light and the sink drained slow. But these are small things compared to all the great things about Playa Del Sol. We will most definitely stay here again. It is 2 blocks from the main streets and there are a ton of restaurants, bars, taco stands and grocery options within a few blocks.

The location is excellent for water sports, which is why I chose it. The location is close enough to the center for town where you more dining choices. Incidents of crime seem non existent, or very low at least. The rooms are a little small, but kept in somewhat decent condition, only problems were a couple of light bulbs were burned out & the hot water tap was leaking. The walls or doors are not very soundproof, so when there were people partying at the bar upstairs, or the music was blasting, or the local, early morning pickle ballers were passing thru, it was a little noisy. I wanted to rent a bike for a few days, but costs were the same as the local bike rental shop in town, but the bikes were in much worse condition. Guests at the hotel should be able to get a reduced rate to increase the chance that they will rent there instead of in town. I didn't see any bikes get rented from there the whole time & they weren't offering me any discounts. We did get a discount on Pickleball by staying there, but they made it confusing or difficult to play with the regulars or locals from town... only allowed to play on our own later on in the day when it was hot & windy. Locals seem to come from all over, which adds to the noise & foot traffic thru the resort & many times, filled the parking lot with their vehicles. Room prices are a little high; more than we usually spend on all inclusive, which will affect our decision to go back there in the future.

There were a few small issues with the room, but we were only there 3 nights so didn’t let it bother us. A little expensive, but the location with beach access helps offset the cost. Friendly staff. Everytime we book, the booking sites all say 1 room or 2 rooms left, but when we arrive it seems like most of the rooms are empty!!!! Don’t know why. That was the case last year also… overall decent and would go back.

Property is conveniently located in central Los Barilles. Beautiful setting well manicured lawns and trees surrounding the entire property. Outdoor pool patio area is excellent for laying out and just enjoying the sea of Cortes view. Restaurant upstairs was excellent. Staff was out of their way friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Pricing was decent as well.

While the location was nice in a remote fishing village, it was not what i expected. The sea was to chopy to snorkle. The hotel restaurant has a nice view but it was very difficult to eat with all the flies and mos. The room was small, towels smelly, pool green with algae, the wifi and power went out four times so I could not do any work. Also the American crowd was on the rough side. I will definitely not return.

Love staying here. Great location and option for Los Barrilles. Note, the pool is not heated in the winter months, and the wind can be quite strong until mid March. Thomas and Brenda at the office are greT and will arrange for a ride into town for dinner or drinks, or to the ATM at the grocery store which has the lowest fees to obtain pesos or dollars. Restaurant help is great. Good breakfast and lunch, and you can eat at your room or poolside. Very nice bar overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Decent WiFi at the restaurant. This was my 2nd stay here, and I'll definitely be back.

The A/C sounded like it was going to fall off the wall all night. The bathroom towels were old, stained at ratty like cleaning rags. The employees were beautiful, pleasant , sweet & hard-working people. Food was very mediocre and expensive. The rooms needed some eating utensils and a microwave. A clock in the room would have been very nice. The view on the beach was excellent . They should give guests #1 dibs on the pickleball courts. NOT the locals hogging all the courts in the cool mornings. Just wrong and frustrating not to be able to play pickleball as advertised for the price paid to stay at the hotel!!!!

Hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly. I found the restaurant excellent with both the food and drinks hitting the spot consistently. Location was excellent also. Only couple of negatives. Hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly. I found the restaurant excellent with both the food and drinks hitting the spot consistently. Location was excellent also. Only couple of negatives.
