Entrance is a nightmare with no handrails! Seriously dangerous!

This was a weird check in. Good snacks in the lobby. The gym was free but in a basement weirdly located. The room was, weirdly laid out but had a bed. There was snacks but they were deceitful at check in. Area was okay.

Excellent tourist-location in Gamla Stan. Large standard room with sea view and really good breakfast. Affordable room rate, nice staff who offered us late check out without any problem. Free coffee & biscuits in lobby all day long.

Firat time in Scandinavia. This hotel is in Gamla Stan, which is the heart of Stockholm. Great location and great staff. It’s a budget hotel but don’t let that deter you from staying here. Breakfast buffet is good with a lot of options. Gym is in the basement, feels somewhat like a dungeon. I would stay here again, considering the location alone is worth it.

Extremely clean hotel.Great breakfast.Extremely helpful and friendly receptionists especially Josephine. A little problem is at the entrance steps when you have to carry a suitcase. The location of the property is also great,near the Royal Palace,the Christmas activities,museums and the pier.The central train station is not far either.

Väldigt trevligt bemötande och ett väldigt trevligt boende. Rent och mysigt. Stor omtanke för gästen. Toppenläge för besök runt Gamla stan, Söder och city. Parkerade gjorde vi i Gallerian bara 8 min promenad bort. Bra och fin frukost. Vi bor gärna här igen!

Very clean and very friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Great location. Rooms are small and accessibility throughout the building can be a problem. Very old town houses joined together. Small steps everywhere. No restaurant/bar.

The location is the highlight. The room sizes are great. But this hotel misses in a few areas. It’s a little long in the tooth. No air conditioning and when it’s warm it’s warm although they provide lots of fans. The front desk staff pretends you don’t exist. One of them in the evening was very helpful, but otherwise they don’t go out of their way to provide service. Finally the place needs a good cleaning. The price points are lower than the adjacent hotels and there is a reason for this. It’s functional, just misses the mark on basic blocking and tackling.

It's a very old and dirty place with a foul smell. On July 11, 2024, around 9:50 am, the only elevator broke down, trapping me for over 40 minutes, it was distressing ordeal of 40 minutes. The manager, Antonio, never reached out to apologize, actually he never said a word to me or replied my email, even after I emailed him. Do not stay at this hotel. The elevator is old and unsafe, and the air conditioning doesn't blow cold air. There are many nicer hotels nearby. We left this hotel and found a much better one in the area.

Väldigt mysigt och fint hotell överlag. Hotellfrukosten kan ha varit den bästa jag någonsin ätit. Fanns så mycket att välja på så att man skulle kunna ha ätit frukost i flera timmar. Däremot var rummet kanske inte i samma nivå. Hittade silverfiskar i badrummet och det fanns enbart en krok till handduken, då den andra låg lös i kommoden. Den ena sänglampan var som rena månskenet, så det hade nog inte skadat att byta ut den. Upplever även att man saknade en golvlampa eller lampa på skrivbordet, då denna del av rummet blev väldigt mörkt. Märkligt att man inte kan öppna lådor då dessa var igensatta. Saknade därav plats att förvara småsaker. Saknar även en plats för en resväska till, då den ena får placeras på golvet i ett sällskap av två.

Fint hotell, men hadde små muggflekker på sengetøyet, gulvet var heller ikke støvsugd og det lå kvitteringer fra andre gjester igjen under sengen. Ellers bra.

Unken lukt i rummet (nr 102) men det fanns inget annat att byta till. Fick vädra hela vistelsen men det hjälpte inte. Trist när man betalar extra för ett lite "finare" rum. Ingen kontakt i badrummet och spegeln i rummet hängde så långt från kontakten så den hade man ingen hjälp av. Ofunktionellt rum över lag med för få krokar, inget kylskåp, ingen bänk att ha vattenkokaren på.

Rent och fräscht. Sköna sängar och trevlig personal.

Fantastisk utsikt och jättebra frukost, lite hård säng. Och eftersom ingen AC finns hade vi fönstret öppet och det blir lite mycket trafikstört. Men är det inte för varmt så skulle jag verkligen rekommendera hotellet - speciellt då rum m magisk utsikt.

Big room with proper, big windows that actually open wide. Really comfy beds. Great breakfast.

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to all that Gamla Stan has to offer. You can easily walk to all the local attractions and restaurants, as well as being very central for the other areas like Norrmalm, Sodermalm and Ostermalm. The hotel is clean and the breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide selection of hot and cold options, all well prepared and cooked. However, the biggest disappointment was the room itself. For a four star hotel, we would have expected a lot more, especially compared to other hotels we have stayed at. Although it was very clean, it was lacking even the basic facilities. There wasn't a single piece of storage in the room, no wardrobe or chest of drawers or even a shelf. There was a small desk with no drawers and a tiny coffee table. We had to live out of our suitcases for the four nights we stayed. There was no safe or minibar in the room and when we tried to call reception on the room phone, there were no instructions and 0 or 1 failed to connect. There was no information pack about the hotel and its facilities or the attractions of Stockholm, so we had to work everything out for ourselves. The bathroom was clean but very small and reminded me more of one from a hostel rather than a four star hotel. No shower cubicle or curtain and it soaked the whole floor and toilet every time it was used. There were no bottles of toiletries, just dispensers for cheap shower gel and hair conditioner, not even separate shampoo.

Overall great stay and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had booked a queen size room and were very disappointed with the size of it (room 507). Very small room with bed pushed up against the wall making it feel very cramped. Maybe European queen size is same as a uk double but it was small and cramped. Some traffic noise but to be expected in a city, this didn’t disturb us too much though. Bathroom and bed was lovely. I would return but would ask for a bigger room and would avoid room 507! 😜

The staff were just tremendous. They looked after luggage our when arriving early, and accommodated an early breakfast on our departure day. They assisted with cab to the airport (a very convenient and cost effective way). The location is great for everything….including hop on hop off bus.

You cannot beat this historic hotel for location to see everything in Stockholm. The staff is unbelievably helpful and so friendly from reception to the breakfast crew. We were treated very well and wanted for nothing. Again…THE ENTIRE STAFF is amazing and welcoming. Tack!

Very nice and helpful at the reception desk and I really like the free coffee, tea and biscuits. The breakfast was great, it had just enough variety and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing with nice music playing. The bed was also very comfortable

They cancelled our reservation. We had a cruise cancel on us 3 days before embarkation in Norway and our entire itinerary was based on this cruise. We were left stranded and 14 days to fill before we went to Stockholm. we contacted the hotel telling them due to unforeseen circumstances we would be a day late of a 4 night stay, and as it was non-refundable I assured them we would be there the next day and they assured me they would hold our room and would be sure to note it on our reservation. They didn’t, because when we arrived late that evening they said they cancelled our reservation. After much argument and frustration they finally decided to put us up in a room at a hotel down the street for one night. Not one person took responsibility for the mistake, each coming up with all sorts of possible excuses. We lost really 2 of our 4 days of sightseeing in Stockholm because of their mistake. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fine værelser men havde forventet at der var udsigt fra værelserne (ikke kuntil muren på nabohuset) Meget blandet serviceoplevelse nogle af medarbejderne i receptionen var super søde og servicemindede andre (typisk dem om aftenen var bestemt ikke..!)

Mindre rum än förväntat! Personalen var lite stroppig i sitt sätt att bemöta kunder. Gav ingen hemtrevlig eller välkomnande känsla alls! Hotellet var mysigt och trevligt i övrigt!

Location was the main reason I chose it. Convenient to tram and ferry to other areas of the city.

Great location, on the edge of Gamla Stan but also close to other sites including Skansen. Street can be noisy but part of the experience. Very pleasant stay.

Nice luxury Hotel in old town (gamla stan) in the center of Stockholm, close to almost everything. Ad the option with sea view room & you will have a great view over Stocholm. (Might be challenging to park a rental car?)

Fantastisk utsikt över vattnet o bra geografiskt läge om man vill se sig omrking i stan. Mysigt rum och trevlig personal. Extra plus att de bjöd på kaffe vid entren samt vackert julpynt (tyvärr ej i rummen alls). Största minuset var frukosten. Disk framme på hälften av borden, svårt att hitta ett ledigt bord, seg bacon o gråa ägg. Det fanns ingen färskpressad juice heller.

Frukost var underbemannad, dålig påfyllning av alla rätter, fick vänta för allt.

El edificio conserva el encanto clásico del casco antiguo de Estocolmo, con detalles arquitectónicos que evocan su pasado, pero ofrece todas las comodidades modernas. El personal fue siempre amable y atento, dispuesto a ayudar con recomendaciones y orientación. La habitación, aunque compacta, resultó acogedora y muy limpia, ideal para descansar después de recorrer las pintorescas calles adoquinadas del barrio. El desayuno, variado y fresco, fue el toque perfecto para comenzar cada día. En conjunto, el Hotel Gamla Stan es una excelente opción para quienes buscan vivir el auténtico espíritu histórico de Estocolmo sin renunciar al confort.

It was great stay overall due to the excellent location. However the breakfast area was small in the basement and got filled up quickly.
