Cleanliness was disappointing. Bathroom basin was dirty. No daily service which meant bins were not emptied and no info on where to empty them ourselves. Parking was off site and a bit confusing. You had to go through the actual garage door to get in on the weekend. Access to the building where the carpark is was not available via the lift.

The hotel is a new idea grafted on to an older building. Readily apparent when you are confronted with sash windows which don't work all that well. Car parking is the worst aspect of the place: an 80 room hotel has just 20 speces reserved in a nearby building. Essential to book your spot. Rooms are not serviced daily if you have just a Queen Room. Neither of these features was obvious until you have actually booked or turned up in person. Not good enough. Also it was just too expensive especially when you add a $40 per day parking fee. There is quite a good restaurant in the foyer with a limited but good wine list- not overly expensive. There are easier places to stay in Canberra! Particularly if you are a motorist. The internet connection is not secure also. Staff are a bright spot. Endlessly helpful, cheerful and efficient.

I still don't understand how a hotel doesn't have parking. Entered the room and the is a large fake leather bedhead that should of been removed 12 months ago. Stained and warn curtains, not a good look.

Had a comfortable 2 night stay to see Floriade. Good location - 20min walk to most main attractions. Room had a very nice north facing aspect overlooking the garden and street, which was quiet. Parking available but need to book in advance. Restaurant has a good menu, quality food and friendly service. The hotel needs a revamp - the carpet, wallpaper on the ceiling(?), bathroom, mattresses and furnishings are worn out. service on the front desk was friendly and attentive but our room was not refreshed. replacement coffee and cups asked for and left old dirty cups in the room. Would stay again if I wanted an average experience.

Car parking is under a separate building requiring access through boom gates, then garage door, then out through 3 security doors and walk through a courtyard and another security door to enter Peppers. Parts of the hotel need refurb. Our headboard was synthetic leather which is crumbling after years of wear. Cleanliness in the restaurant not the best, a piece of cabooses spent 3 days on the floor and was still there when we left. Photo attached. No chef on our final day for breakfast but we did receive a refund after having to request same. Good location. Staff are very good. Will try other hotels next time.

The staff were friendly and helpful the room was comfortable and clean. The only slight problem was the showe was a bit too powerful and the water ran out into the bathroom the first night. This was easily overcome by not having the shower on fully on subsequent days. The staff happily replaced my bathmat and gave me a spare.

Our bed was the worse bed I ever slept in. Shower flooded the whole bathroom and I to the room. Reception staff were so unfriendly. Reception area the floors were dirty. Will never return to this hotel.

Overall, the place is okay. The cleanliness is decent, but I noticed the red chair had some dust on it, which was a bit off-putting. The air conditioning was also quite noisy, making it hard to relax fully. On the positive side, the location is very convenient and easy to access. Loud aircon and really hot without it. Noisy sleep. The bed was not very comfortable. The room looks onto other rooms. So it is necessary to keep the heavy draped closed Otherwise clean and well appointed. Would be good if they could improve airflow.

More attention to detail with cleaning in the bathroom especially would be good. Impossible to sleep with the A/C on as it was so loud. Several unsuccessful attempts to order room service food faied as it kept coming up with " on line ordering not available at this time " so I gave up.

The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and obliging. However, the hotel is very tired. Having room service only after 4 day stay, is ridiculous. Aircon not really working & windows painted shut. This is Peppers, not a youth hostel.

The place is a very nice boutique hotel. Generally the comfort and decor were very good but: the restaurant was pretty average; my shower drain was blocked and literately did not drain so water flooded the bathroom - I raised it and was told it would be fixed that day and is wasn't so second day it also just flooded. they didn't seem to care; There is almost no sound proofing between the room and hallway so sleep was disturbed by neighbours going in an out of their rooms.

Decor - dated Bedroom - Good size; Good wardrobe; No power points where they should be - near bed and bedside tables; Bathroom - Large but 2 major drawbacks namely: absolutely no bench space for toiletries; and shower had no door, hence water went all over floor. Restaurant - Italian but chef"s only experience must have been in the army and/or goals. inadequate menu and very poor cooking. Position - too far away from 'downtown'.

Fantastic location, great room and on site dining with nearby bars, cafes etc. However the stand out was the staff. Friendly and helpful from check in to check out. Additionally, I was travelling alone and became unwell and had to be admitted to hospital. Staff offered to keep my room as I was expecting to return later in the day. When kept in overnight, they packed all my gear beautifully and personally delivered it to my hospital room so I could proceed directly to the airport when discharged. I am so grateful.

Wonderful hotel with that extra special feeling. Personnel were helpful and friendly. Ideally situated close to the park, museum, CBD and a 20 min walk to botanical gardens! - This is our favourite hotel in Cannberra, we will keep teturning.

The ground floor room immediately adjacent to a foorpath was a little too public for our liking. We stayed 2 nights and housekeeping knocked at 9.30am to make up the room, we agreed that it be done later but it wasn't despite informing the lady making up a nearby room as we left. Raising the matter at checkout we were told room make up was not included in our rate, not something I noticed at the time of booking and not supported by the door knocking episode. Overall good location for walking to floriade. Good food in house and next door at rebel rebel.

Peppers is well-situated in a quiet mostly governmental office neighborhood. Surprisingly, within the block are a pastry shop, a wine bar, cineplex, other hotel with other restaurant and bar. A great restaurant, Rebel Rebel, is only half a block away. The hotel restaurant has good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms are a bit on the small side, but definitely adequate. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return to it or recommend it to others.

The ambience and the design of both the Hotel and the Precinct were interesting. The breakfast was disappointing with fruit salad being considered a main and not a precursor to a traditional main meal - a bowl of cereal was similarly defined. While the staff in the restaurant were very pleasant these menu limitations made this the worst breakfast I can recall in any hotel I have stayed in.
