Sunbay Hotel- Daily Breakfast & Beach Access Included

Noisy barking dog woke us up several times. No screens on windows or patio door. Only sheets on bed and no blankets in closet. The bathroom sink had to plug and someone had already obviously lost a toothpaste cap. Free breakfast but food wasn't very good. Chose to stay here 1 night before our scheduled stay down the street because it was convenient. Pros they have a decent deep pool, an elevator, front desk staff pleasant. Know that this is not on the beach side if that is what you're looking for. Room overlook pool and inner courtyard.

The room was comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. The breakgasy was tasty. My children enjoyed the pool. A blanket should be added to the rooms and our room was not cleaned during our 2 night stay

The breakfast was terrible, staff was ok, pool not maintained very filthy, limited toilet paper had to go to front desk to request, had to rent a beach towel for 15usd.

The room was very spacious, and the beach is just across the street from the property. Breakfast is good, but resturant does not operate for lunch or dinner. There are a few dining options within walking distance. Overall stay was good, but age is a visible on the property.

Food, pool location

We stayed for just 1 night and the room itself is lovely and comfortable and very clean. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The property itself looks tired and in need of a bit of a make over. We were disappointed that we could not get an evening meal on site and actually had to go to your sister hotel for this. We did have breakfast on site, which was really nice. It also states on the internet that you have a gym, but we were told that this too is at the sister site.

When we arrived the room that was booked was not available. We accepted the room given and was told that the next day our room will be ready. The room given was room 112 which was 1 king bed. The room, the bed was 2 twin beds joint together to make a king bed. It was uncomfortable and created discomfort in our sleep the 1st night. Imagine trying to sleep near to your wife or husband and the bed is split in the middle. The toilet had big yellow stains in bowl. Rain fell, so the tiles were wet and slippery.There was no caution signs to alert guests to be careful. On the 2nd day coming back to the hotel after a fun filled day on the island, upon arrival we were told that our new room is not available and there aren’t any rooms available. We paid for a deluxe king room with balcony and a pool view. Several calls was made by the front desk clerk to what were we’re assuming to be management to resolve this issue. Finally, the room magically became available. At this point frustrated and exhausted we proceeded to make a payment. Our payment kept declining. Called our bank there was no block, hold or even insufficient funds on our account so we’re confused as to why the machine is not accepting our card. The clerk’s tone was very condescending and rude. Turns out Sunbay does not accept discover cards. Will never return to Sunbay. There was also no bottled waters in the room, no restaurants, no bars available to purchase food nor drinks on the compound.

The Sunbay hotel in itself is good, friendly staff. The restaurant is very limited & they close the bar at 9:00 pm & no snacks available. They should upgrade their WiFi which is often not accessible while in your room, may have to sit in the lobby for connection. Overall for the price I would recommend it.

The overall cleanliness of the property was good. Staff was helpful with transportation service but there wasn’t any activity apart from the pool. Guests had to find their own recreation since nothing was offered by the hotel. The breakfast wasn’t that great. At check in the hotel still collected the government tax after I had already paid it to Expedia and no one could give me a proper explanation why that was done.

The hotel was tired and dirty. Damp patches on the walls, almost the worst shower we hade experienced although the water was hot if one waited long enough. The bar was always shut and the restaurant not open at lunch and dinner times. Worst was when we asked for a taxi to the airport the receptionist arranged for someone she knew who took us in an old car that should not have been on the road. Never again!

Friendly hotel that was clean and well staffed. It was great for a 3 star and is reasonably priced for families and couples to be able to come and enjoy Barbados. The rooms are lovely and spacious and clean towels are plentiful. The staff are friendly and courteous.I feel there should be an extra cover provided for the bed as one sheet is not enough. That is the only thing though as we had a great stay on this lovely island!

Place not really clean and not well mantained, in the night was raining and my room was flooded, and as usual if you book with Expedia or adder provider you get the worst possible room. The smell of mould was terrible, toilet indecent, linen on the bed from last century. Can be nice but wasn’t

Room smell like mild growing in the wall. We can see coweb on the wall, some patches of mold, hair in the bathroom (more mold in the bathroom). We are not sure if the sheet are clean due to the overall state of the room

Check in was easy & quick. Staff are so friendly & helpful. Property is clean. Free breakfast is a nice touch with lots of choice. We had lunch a couple of times & that was great quality & really tasty. Beach is across the road. Quite choppy but very peaceful & secluded. I’d recommend this hotel.

The reality falls far below expectations. The rooms look nothing like the reference images; the bathroom was completely grimy, and overall cleanliness was very poor. There were construction materials scattered throughout the hallways, and we had to request housekeeping because they never came on their own. The staff could greatly improve their customer service. It’s not just about providing the required information, but doing so with a positive attitude and willingness to help. With the exception of the woman who assisted us in arranging training packages, the rest of the staff was generally apathetic and not very willing to provide the information we needed. Honestly, I would not recommend this hotel.

My stay at Sunbay was nice. We visited off peak season so the entire place was quite and we had the pool to ourselves. The staff were courteous. The breakfast however could use some more variety. It's difficult eating eggs, bacon, baked beans, potatoes or sausage several different ways everyday if you're there for more than 3 days. Overall experience not bad. The bed in our room was quite comfortable and the rooms were clean.

Unfortunately, the bathroom was an issue for our entire stay of 9 days. The toilet didn’t flush and when we asked to change rooms we were denied. Property is nice, however investment into updating amenities would go a long way.

This hotel was a great base, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the Manager was amazingly friendly and helpful with a couple of requests. The room was big, clean and comfortable and also very quiet the whole time we stayed there. I would recommend this hotel for people that want a quiet stay a bit away from any facilities etc but it suited myself and partner as we jumped on buses to Bridgetown beach and other places to explore. Thank you Sunbay.

The air conditioning system shiuld be placed on the other side of the room so that the cold air would not be directly above you. The receptionist was very professional

We stayed here for four nights at Sunbay Hotel. The rooms were large and spacious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was awesome, really tasty things like hash browns, sausages and cod. Really liked the banana bread too. There were a few things that could use some improvement. We stayed in room 209 and it was large but I wish they would repaint the room, fix the WiFi, and make sure both pillows were soft. We had one hard pillow and one soft. Also the lamps had different light bulbs. One was a lovely warm light and the other was a not so nice led light. I think just a few small improvements would make this hotel great. I wish I could’ve turned on my balcony light too. For the price it was fine and I still really enjoyed my stay. Perhaps I would stay here again.

A disappointing stay in a hotel lacking maintenance. All staff however were pleasant and kind with one exception, a Night ‘Manager’. Despite check in problems for many guests, the reception staff remained calm and helpful. Serving staff were all kind. The maintenance needs adressing and i would not recommend this hotel as a result. AC - Non functional. WiFi - Non functional (4/5 Days) Fridge - Non functional. Warm Water - Hit & Miss. However a partial refund was asked for and recieved. Thankyou.

We stayed for 6 days here. they didn't allow early checked in. Blow dryer not working and when we asked to receptionist she ignored and didn't provide. No pool towel provided. Breakfast limited and same everyday. rude staffs especially receptionist. I won't come again here to stay.

The hotel is a bit old and has not been regularly maintained. The rooms are run down and bare. The best feature is a beautiful and quiet sandy beach just across the street. There are not too many dining options around (Oistins Fish Market on Fridays is great). The very friendly and helpful staff makes the experience a bit more palatable.

Receptionist from 2pm and manager and security are horrible they make up rules that are not posted their communication and customer service skills are terrible. Breakfast was disgusting and the cooks doesn’t know the difference between egg whites and omelette overall very terrible experience would never go back or recommend anyone to go there plus the bathroom water smells like sewer

Restaurant hours are posted as 8/10pm close time. Closes at 3. Not sure which beach they claim, but to access the beach you must walk through a hole in a fence across the street. Security guard was unhinged and unprofessional. That’s not safe. Bathroom smells. Placed in the wrong room. Breakfast not appealing. Can’t have a guest over. Stay elsewhere.

Staff 80% miserable. Poor service, waiting waiting. Most of the time the answer was no.

Room was in the back of the hotel. No light. Felt ghostly not many visitors at property. Pool needs maintenance. Because we were only guest there at time felt awkward servers kept staring.. very distant to night life. It’s in a hole. We walked like 20 mins trying to get to oistins felt longer because we were unfamiliar. Front desk lady nice but hotel run down

The breakfast buffet wasn’t great. When we came down for breakfast, there were no clean plates no clean mugs. There was also no fruit whatsoever no yogurt. And none of the staff seem to be interested in serving you.
