This is a Hilton Grand Vacation property. Doheny State Beach is walkable and just across the PCH. You will need to go to the pedestrian bridge to cross the train tracks. The resort fee provides beach chairs, beach towels, and umbrellas. They also have bikes available as part of the resort fee. The stay was great, and we would happily return.

Room was clean and large, view was fantastic. Only one functioning elevator in three buildings made it difficult to unload car. It was a chaotic bottle neck of people and luggage waiting and waiting for an empty elevator!!! Was supposed to get a text when our room was cleaned and avaliable. Text was never sent by the front desk, so we were late checking into our room. This resulted us getting stuck in the middle of the bottleneck. Not a great start to our vacation. But everything else was wonderful.

Loved the pool(s) and fitness center. The fun zone could use an update. The arcade games are mostly broken. We stayed in two different rooms on this trip and both could have been cleaned better. Great view of the ocean despite the highway and train tracks. Will check out other places in the area to compare pricing before booking again in the future.

We stayed with our three children in a 2 bedroom suite. We booked without realizing we wouldn’t have a view of the ocean. I was concerned it would ruin the experience but we still had a great time. We were on the 4th floor and our view was of a large hill. It was somewhat dark in the room but the overall size of the suite and the pool made up for the lack of a view. Our children loved the pool and game room. Parking was easy and free! We would stay again.

Awesome Hotel with many amenities! 2 pools, game room, table tennis, little marketplace, and much more. Rooms were excellent and included a kitchen. I’m sure it’s half timeshare’s and half hotel but was an amazing stay for my wife and I.

The view from the balcony is amazing. Unobstructed views. Ocean waves crash on the rocky beach of Capistrano. The pools at the resort are great as us the parking. There is a lot of noise during the day. Traffic on Coast Highway is heavy and the Surfliner and Coaster commuter trains run on the tracks alongside PCH, but the view is wirth

I was extremely pleased with this new find. It was such a gem, clean, easy to check in/out and great location. Nice and accommodating staff. I was able to call the night before and have a playpen set up for my baby which was perfect. The room was perfection full kitchen, living room and amazing view. The bed was extremely comfortable I slept like a baby. It was perfect for my family. The property offered free bike rentals and free beach accessories which was a nice touch. Pool was heated and open late and the property was clean and offered free parking. 10/10 would recommend.

Great condo resort right on the PCH. Room was fantastic. Plenty of space. Big bedroom. Great bathroom. Deck overlooking the ocean. Pool area was amazing. Two hot tubs. Large heated pool. Great loungers. Plenty of stuff to do in the area and at the resort. Parking was easy too. Would definitely stay again.

Easy access to beach. Quiet and relaxing. Not so many restaurants around. Train is a downside, all hours of the day. One elevator only available on one side of the building. The working elevator doesn’t work from the garage floor you need to be on the first floor and then take it upstairs. If you need walking accommodations and elevator access this might not be the hotel for you. Pool area and jacuzzi clean.

The property is very split with 3 separate buildings. We stayed in an end unit on the second floor. The main pool and hot tub were about 0.3 miles from our unit. The elevator was so slow and did not respond well, like going to random floors. The were lots of pill bugs and other bugs in our unit. We killed about 15 bugs a day. The floors were so dirty that we had to wear shoes. The staff does not clean or check your room for dirty towels. We had to call to get more towels which were then dropped off in a bag. There is a train track across the street which come through about every 30 minutes. Overall we would not return to this property.

We enjoyed our stay here the room was very clean and nice and inviting. I myself working for the Ayres hotel chain I know what I expect from a hotel. That being said the hall ways were filthy and the elevator wasn’t very clean. And didn’t work very well very jerky. The listing also said a buffet breakfast was included with our stay and this hotel did not include breakfast. That being said I would come back. The staff was friendly and communicative.

Good for family beach stay. Convenient location to the beach but not close to many restaurants or shops so definitely need a car to get around. Room was a bit loud at night due to being close to connecting doors from building to building. TV cable did not work and found strands of long blond hairs on “clean towels”. We don’t have any blondes in our family :-/

The hotel is rated a 3-star, but could easily be a 4-star hotel. I would rank it a 3.5 star with all the amenities like a game room, billiards room, two Jacuzzi and wonderful ocean view. The room was perfect and I had a grill, toaster, blender, full fridge, dishwasher and everything. The problem was ants. I swear Dave Matthews had Ants Marching all over the bathroom, opposite wall and even found 2 ants on the bed! (Agh)

Bed was ok for comfort, a bit hard. Bathroom was very small. The unit is huge though, stayed in one with a separate living/dining/full kitchen King bed suite. Great view other than the 101 freeway between our room and the beach. Also there is a train that zips by relatively frequently. Because of the train tracks, you have to walk a decent distance to get to an overpass that allows you to access the beach at all. They have free 2 hour rental bicycles you can sign out which helps get around, but none have gears for those that might prefer that. Dana Point and the state park is nearby too. The building is actually multiple buildings that are connected through outdoor corridors. There seems to be some sort of Hilton Memberahip section and then hotel rental section. One outdoor pool is smalll and beside the sidewalk and the freeway. The nicer one (maybe meant for members only initially, that said, the space is a large pool, basketball net at one end is great for kids and two hot tubs with restrooms. Also, both pool areas have the swing chair for those coming into the water with physical issues. Overall, good price, good for families and kitchen being stocked, patio with a bbq, great for vacation. For luxury, beauty and pampering, you get what you pay for here.

I found this place completely by accident and I certainly am happy that I did! We wanted a place close to the Coach House where we had tickets to a concert and this was perfect! It’s right across the PCH from Doheny Beach and is a great location. We checked in and the staff including the concierge Tommy couldn’t have been nicer. He told us about the features and collaborations with local restaurants that the property has along with other businesses. We had a full weekend otherwise we would’ve been able to see and hear the presentations that are available. The room was a very nice and spacious one bedroom on the first floor with a beautiful view of the beach. Rooms come completely decked out with glassware, dishes and utensils with a gas grill on the balcony. Perfect for one night or an extended stay. The hotel has a marketplace complex with just about anything you might want foodwise including beer, wine, juice, milk, soda etc. A very nice room in a very nice place. It’s the perfect place to stay in the Dana Point area. We’re already booked for another stay to go to another concert. A very nice experience with lots of close by dining options. You won’t be disappointed.

A cheeky $27 “resort fee” for a small pool on the main road. My room had ZERO natural light, it was a dark dungeon with a picture of the beach hung outside the window. Check in delayed until 4m, while the concierge tried to sell me on a vacation package !

The room is noisy. Hotel staff were not helpful and simple does not care. The o peral quality is far below Hilton standard. Paying such high price without getting basic friendly service is truly shocking. Will never stay here again.

The customer service at this property is like no other. The people are all so kind and helpful. They truly seem like they wanted our stay to be the very best. They send text messages checking in on you, and if you need anything (fresh towels or more coffee) you text them that and they bring it to you. Very helpful.

I would have given the hotel staff a terrible rating except the woman in the marketplace was incredibly friendly. The front desk staff were awful- I’ve never seen a less friendly group at a hotel. One tall female stood out as friendly and customer centric but the others were uncomfortably cold. At one point I asked them if they were okay because check in was so awkward. I didnt mind the painting that was going on during our stay, but the pool, elevators, and were closed. At one point the stairwell near our room was under construction too. I would have expected a hilton hotel to at least leave a “pardon our mess” card and complimentary water bottles? Oreos? Something that shows appreciation? Note: there was no warning that ocean view balconies wouldn’t be accessible, pool closed or elevators closed. I received an email after I made the reservation and they refused to let me cancel without losing the money. But, the rooms are great for a family of four, the kidz zone is cute, bike rentals are a great perk and parking is in a well-lit garage. Even though customer service is terrible, we’d stay again because the location is great

Overall we really liked this property. Great location, great pool, great staff, comfortable beds. The room itself is a little aged but not a big deal. A couple things worth noting are that the property is right on PCH so there is quite a bit of traffic noise blended in with your awesome ocean view. Also, the beach right across the street is pretty rocky- you'll still want to drive to the better beaches in the area.

If you focus on the word "resort," you might be unhappy with your stay here. You're not going to pop out of your room and dance across the sand while waiters bring you cocktails. These are essentially apartments right on Pacific Coast Highway. It's noisy and there's not much by way of shops/restaurants/etc. very close by. But you can walk or take a tram to Dana Point, easy walk to the beach, and parking is a snap, so you can get in and out at your convenience to visit other locations. The full kitchens make it easy to stay within a food budget. Great stay!

A nice apartment style place overlooking the ocean at Doheny State Beach. PCH is between the place and the beach, so it’s a busy road that you have to walk about 5 minutes to get to the beach camping area. Drive a few minutes to the beach just north and enjoy the sand. Can rent surfboards there. Very clean and the staff were both friendly and accommodating. Also nice jacuzzi!

Wonderful people, fantastic big rooms with a view of the beach and just all around perfect for a one-night stay when I happen to be in the area to attend a rock concert. They don't serve breakfast and check out his sharply at 10:00 so you have to make sure you have plans to eat in the morning. Doheny beach made famous in The Beach Boys song Surfing USA is right across the street, so plenty of local activities and things to enjoy. The only negative, if it's a negative ,is that it's a timeshare so they will invite you to attend some of their presentations, and of course I always feel it's relatively awkward to have to tell them no I'm not interested in that kind of thing right now. And they have different plans to sign you up for things so you can get complimentary stays at other Hilton properties, so for those who are interested in participating in that Network it could be interesting, but if you're just there because you're in the area or you just want a peaceful overnight stay in a nice hotel than you have to actively ignore and politely decline all those invitations. The pool and jacuzzi is wonderful and I would definitely stay there again if I need an overnight place to stay down Doheny way, to quote the Beach Boys.

The place is in a wonderful area - very close to Laguna Beach ,restaurants -the view overlooking Dana point ,is gorgeous. The staff is extremely professional friendly -everybody, the custodians ,the office staff, even the cute woman in the gift shop. Everybody was truly professional staff ,I’ve ever ever experienced !- the walls are extremely thin so you hear everything ,is my only complaint ,so bring some earplugs!! The price is so fair especially in such a beautiful area. Sunset is absolutely gorgeous.
