Great experience! Impressed by the facility and services by the staffs. We arrived Arima Onsen by bus, I happen to saw the hotel bus was outside, and the staff was so pleasant to pick us up. By the way, bus station and nearby tourist information center all provides free call service for you to request hotel pick up. During our 2 days stay, we used hotel’s free shuttle service to town and to the Rokko Ropeway. Really impressed by staffs great help! Breakfast was very generous. They delivered the whole set to our room. Free drink at the lobby all day. Laundry facilities is very clean! I booked premium Japanese room. Only to find out that my 80+ mom had hard time to get down and up. The front desk staff help me to switch to a Japanese & western room. The room is very good size in Japanese term. Clean and comfortable. I do not need room cleaning the next day, but the staffs still provide us with a new Yukata and new water bottle. The best of all, is the onsen. This hotel has 8 private onsen, with the famous silver and gold hot spring. Clean and good size, with green hill view. My mom’s shoulder pain is relieved after soaking. Magical spring!

We stayed in a suite ( suite 312 with western beds, mountain view and private onsen ). The staff is absolutely lovely, they provide shuttle and pick up services, friendly, polite, helpful. The onsen which you can also book for private use in 45min intervalls are very well designed and maintained. There are 4 interior onsens and 4 outdoor with 2 pools each. These are 8 onsens for about 30-35 rooms so you get enough bathtime. What I recommend is to eat at their Kaiseki Restaurant. We paid around $160 per person but it was worth every penny. The dishes were Michelin Star worthy. We dined at many Michelin restaurants and this one easily can keep up or even beats most them. This restaurant is only for hotel guest. So add few more hundreds and make your stay perfect. The restaurants around the city aren't as good or lack in option as other bigger cities.

The best part of this small Ryokan is the selection of five private outdoor Onsen baths. They are all situated in beautiful gardens, and you can pick and choose which one you would like to try every day any time of the day. They also have five indoor private onsen you can choose from.

Very nice staff. 8 private Onsen for rental for free. My room with onsen is great. Ver comfortable. Free drinks in the fridge included. Don't forget the bar at the lobby. Shuttle to town center on demand is very convenient.

Exceptional experience at this ryokan. Will definitely come back again. Onsen was also amazing and really enjoyed the private aspect of it. 45minute sessions were plenty enough and we were able to get our spots each time we wanted.

The most unique feature of this property are the private baths. My husband and I were able to enjoy 3 out of 4 of the outdoor pool facilities. Pretty fantastic with both types of mineral water. We splurged for dinner and ordered the special Spiney Lobster. Sorry but not worth it. Dinner service was great but breakfast service was not. Brought our food and did not come in again. Minor points. Overall a wonderful experience!

They have a very nice hotel and hot spring, free hot drinks and some ice drink also free in the lobby, also free private hot springs you just have to book and the same for there shuttle bus service. I recommend

初めて有馬温泉で宿泊しました。スタッフの方の対応はとても丁寧で素敵でした。 隣の部屋のおそらく中国からの旅行者で、家族連れで夜12時頃まで騒いでいて、窓を閉めてもうるさかったです。 細かい所は気にしませんが、窓側の大きい机が埃まみれだったのも値段の割には残念でした。 総合的には満足でした。

Extremely nice hot spring experience with friendly staff. Especially the hygiene condition of the room as well as the hot spring, it’s surprising that you can’t even find a string of hair in your room and all hot springs. What kind of magic is that lol Unfortunately dinner session was fully booked, will definitely try next time.

スタッフの方々がとても親切でした。チェックアウトした後にも関わらず、車を停めさせてもらったまま、観光させてもらえ、その上に旅館までチェックアウト終わってるのに、送迎車に乗せてもらい駐車場まで送ってもらえました。 チェックインアウトのご対応も丁寧で、貸切風呂も綺麗で満足出来ました。 部屋風呂に着いても掛け流し風呂なので、いつ入っても温かくて良かったです。 朝ご飯に着いては、ご飯の量とおかずの量のバランスが悪く、お米をもう少し欲しかったのと、お味噌汁がなかったのが少し残念でした。 弁当なので仕方がないと思いますが… 朝ご飯の際の、薬味や醤油がなかったのも少し残念です。 それ以外は完璧でした。

Arima Onsen town is quaint and small enough that you can walk to the property, or use their free shuttle service. The best part about staying here is the privacy. You can enjoy the hot springs privately without having to worry about other guests. There are 4 outdoor and 4 indoor springs. The outdoor ones are beautifully landscaped and have insect light traps so you don't have to worry bugs attacking you while you soak - thank you! You can also dine privately in one of their dining rooms - equipped with a TV which is a nice touch. The room itself was comfortable. Unfortunately, the outdoor furniture looked like it's never been cleaned so I wasn't able to use the outdoor space, and I found some dried squid pieces on the floor near the coffee table and sofa which were probably left behind by the previous guest. The attention to detail and smoothness/quality of service could use some work to make this place perfect, but overall I enjoyed my stay.

We had a wonderful time at Taketoritei Hotel Maruyama. Shuttle service was outstanding. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Room with open air Onsen we stayed was very spacious, clean, comfortable. Open air Onsen was beautiful and quiet. Enjoyed very much. Dinner was phenomenal, and the breakfast was delicious as well. Hospitality was just beyond my expectations. We highly recommend this place.

Far location up on the hill which however is not a problem, since a hotel shuttle can be called throughout the day to and from the bus station as well as to restaurants in arima. Staff and service are impeccable. They can pretty much read your mind and are prepared for your question before you even ask. Really helps with the language barrier. The ac/heat ductless units did smell a bit. Odor is probably from the mineral springs.

大阪への旅行から足を延ばしての宿泊でした。ロビーをはじめ館内施設の装飾や風景への配慮に清潔さ、食事のクオリティ、スタッフのホスピタリティー、温泉施設の充実度は感動レベルで、決して安くはない宿泊料金にも十分に納得です。特に周辺エリアへの送迎は驚くほど迅速で全く不便を感じません。唯一残念だったのがベッドサイドの照明が故障中なのか使用できず、就寝前の読書に難儀したこと。それ以外は完璧で大変に寛ぎました。

By the way, bus station and nearby tourist information center all provides free call service for you to request hotel pick up. During our 2 days stay, we used hotel’s free shuttle service to town and to the Rokko Ropeway. Really impressed by staffs great help! Breakfast was very generous. They delivered the whole set to our room. Free drink at the lobby all day. Laundry facilities is very clean! I booked premium Japanese room. Only to find out that my 80+ mom had hard time to get down and up. The front desk staff help me to switch to a Japanese & western room. The room is very good size in Japanese term. We had a wonderful time at Taketoritei Hotel Maruyama. Shuttle service was outstanding. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Room with open air Onsen we stayed was very spacious, clean, comfortable. Open air Onsen was beautiful and quiet. Enjoyed very much. Dinner was phenomenal, and the breakfast was delicious as well. Hospitality was just beyond my expectations. We highly recommend this place.

This is my second time at Taketoritei Maruyama and it didn’t disappoint! Justin has been very helpful in arranging a Kaiseki dinner at a nearby hotel for our group since their restaurant were fully booked. Every staff on the property were courteous and friendly. Quick and easy shuttle service to the bus terminal and nearby restaurants. I highly recommend this ryokan when you visit Arima!

Amazing location and tattoo friendly. The restaurants book out early, however the one time we were booked in for breakfast, we were very disappointed and had better food in town. They have a courtesy bus that will run you into town and pick you up.

Arima Onsen town is quaint and small enough that you can walk to the property, or use their free shuttle service. The best part about staying here is the privacy. You can enjoy the hot springs privately without having to worry about other guests. There are 4 outdoor and 4 indoor springs. The outdoor ones are beautifully landscaped and have insect light traps so you don't have to worry bugs attacking you while you soak - thank you! You can also dine privately in one of their dining rooms - equipped with a TV which is a nice touch. The room itself was comfortable. Unfortunately, the outdoor furniture looked like it's never been cleaned so I wasn't able to use the outdoor space, and I found some dried squid pieces on the floor near the coffee table and sofa which were probably left behind by the previous guest. The attention to detail and smoothness/quality of service could use some work to make this place perfect, but overall I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel was beautiful with all the amenities you could need. This was our first time in a traditional Japanese style room and it was such a fun experience. The onsens were great and the reservation system easy to use. Dining was special and we loved the food. Getting to do a little laundry in their facilities was an added bonus. Staff was eager to help and made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire stay.

I would not come back. Food was awful. The property has several open air onsens, which can be reserved by guests for 45 Mins sessions. We got the reservations of our choice easily enough and the onsens were very good. I am writing an unbiased review and the preceding was the best part of the stay. Now the negative ; Toilet has a small sink but no accommodation for soap. What happened japanese cleanliness? They lock the front doors overnight. Due to jet lag, I decided to go outside for a walk but the doors were locked. I would not know what happens in a fire. I felt panicking, feeling like I am locked up in a jail. There\'s no one at the front desk. It was closed. For a property which charges $750/ night, we expect high quality of service. Staff were nice, except for discussions about food. At checking, I chose a breakfast selection. After dinner, I requested to change next day\'s breakfast selection and they refused, even with 12 hour notice. Dinner was awful. The worst food in recent memory. Even the street food in nichika market in Kyoto was much better. We enjoyed good food in Japan, until here. It\'s zero star! I was hungry all night because I didn\'t know where else to go. Seriously, food was just awful. The "kobe beef" was of cheap cuts. I couldn\'t eat it. Even basic soup was bad. Next morning breakfast was equally bad. Indoor onsen : I was excited that my room would have a flowing water indoor onsen. No window. Too humid to use. Useless

Extremely nice hot spring experience with friendly staff. Especially the hygiene condition of the room as well as the hot spring, it’s surprising that you can’t even find a string of hair in your room and all hot springs. What kind of magic is that lol Unfortunately dinner session was fully booked, will definitely try next time.

Enjoyed our stay here! Highly recommend getting room 404 with outdoor private bath. Service was impeccable and the kaiseki and Japanese breakfast were delightful. Thank you Taketoritei!

The stay at Taketoritei Maruyama was amazing. The staff were very attentive, polite, and helpful! The shuttle service especially was super helpful especially w/ aging parents as part of our group and the intense summer heat. The rooms were clean and the spa spaces were also very clean and well maintained. I would recommend Taketoritei Maruyama to anyone heading to Arima Onsen.

Amazing stay! Amazing staff, beautiful hotel, the shuttle was very convenient. Tattoo friendly as the onsens are booked for 45 minute private sessions. Worth the splurge if you’re travelling on a bit of a budget.

We like the private onsen compartments for family use. We hope that the hotel can further improve their service by sending emails to customers 2 days before the booking about the hotel shuttle, so that the customers would know how to contact and arrange for shuttle bus to the hotel and where to wait for the shuttle to pick them up when they arrive at the bus stations, carrying heavy baggage.
