The onsen was very nice and well maintained. The buffets were excellent, loved the unlimited crab. The staff was very helpful. The facilities were somewhat dated and there was a smell of mildew. This is likely understandable with the location directly above the onsen. The other issue was the air conditioning in our room. We were there in July and the AC was woefully inadequate. All balanced, the experience was really quite nice and there was good value. The downside was a somewhat deferred upgrade seventies experience.

The suite room with "kunugi" private bath is spacious and nice. The private bath allows adjustment of water temperature, so that it can be tailored to everyone's need. In summer, the room may get a bit warm towards the afternoon that we needed to open the window and request a fan, as the air-con was not available during the month of our stay. Buffet breakfast and dinner have many Japanese food choices. The public bath have lots of different pool choices, including water slide, which was a big hit with our kid. The bath in B2 includes the outdoor onsen that features in the profile photos of the hotel. All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay. We look forward to come back again in winter to see the entirely different landscape.
