This is a very nice hotel. The cafe is lovely and the staff is attentive and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. This is SO close to uber charming Insadong and a subway station two stops away from Seoul Station. Lots of food and dining. Walk to major sites. Tiny negatives: The wallpaper could be updated or painted. It was hard for me to understand how to use the completely free washer and dryer. Other people seemed to have no problem and I should have just asked the helpful staff. Free detergent too!

Stayed: March 2025 Hotel sunbee was super clean, the staff super friendly and close to Insadong and Ikseondong. We booked a Busan trip as well and initially booked another hotel for our return back to Seoul, but Hotel Sunbee were nice enough to hold our luggage for us so we cancelled the other hotel and rebooked with Hotel Sunbee. They also provide free rental good for families with infants: free steriliser, baby cot and foldable stroller but this might come as a first come first basis type of thing. They also have a laundry room which we can use for free. All in all, was super pleased with our stay at the hotel and will definitely be coming back! Thank you Hotel Sunbee!

It was a great location to look at the historical sites. It was tucked away in a corner from the main street so it was quiet. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and spoke English! There was a free laundry room which was nice!

Good location close to transit and shopping areas. Easy to get to popular attractions. Located on a bit of an odd side street so a bit hard to find at first. Older building with not great sound proofing, so bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Room was large and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not many amenities at this property, but we didn't really need them with loads of shopping and dining options nearby. Beds were a bit hard for our preference, but would stay again.

A quiet location in the heart of Insadong and within easy walking distance of several tube lines and key tourist attractions in the north of the city. Staff were nice and friendly. They also give out a photocopied sketch map highlighting different local restaurants/cafes. The attached Sunbee cafe really only serves drinks so don't count on it for breakfast although there any plenty of other options nearby.

Had a pleasant stay at Sunbee. The staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke great English. Although the hotel didn’t have much amenities (kids pool, spa, etc) it was near a street with many food options and shopping. But the purpose of our visit was to visit the embassy so the lack of amenities didn’t bother us. It was an easy walk to the embassy and Gyeongbokgung Palace from Sunbee. We walked there with our 2 young children. Loved that the hotel had a laundry facility and it was free and detergent was provided. You can also borrow strollers if traveling with young children like us! Would stay here again if planning to visit the surrounding area. Thank you Sunbee Hotel!

Hôtel 2 étoiles (et pas 3 comme indiqué sur les sites de réservation) idéalement placé, à 3 minutes d’une longue rue très commerçante. Pas de petit-déjeuner mais il y a de quoi faire à qlq minutes à pied ds les environs. La chambre pour 4 n’est pas très grande (le futon est collé au grand lit et prend de la place) mais ça passe. Le wifi n’est pas très bon, mais bizarrement on peut se connecter à celui d’une autre chambre et il est meilleur ! SDB grande et moderne. Chaussons et peignoirs à disposition. Ménage de la chambre laissant un peu à désirer : des cheveux et saletés présents au sol un jour l’étaient encore le lendemain… Personnel serviable et sympathique parlant bien anglais.

it’s not often you walk into a hotel room that smells good - but my room at sunbee did! everyone was very helpful and the location was close to transportation, restaurants and shopping. i really appreciated the free laundry. i would happily stay here again.

Very spacious with a comfortable King-size bed. It would be helpful if they had plug adapters in the room, but I think they have them available for loan (we bought one). Note that the lack of shower curtain is likely cultural because we noticed it Japan as well - there is a drain outside the bathtub. We really enjoyed our 7-night stay. The location is great - off the busy street so quiet for sleeping, yet easy/quick walking distance to numerous restaurants and shopping. Public transit is also nearby, and several major attractions are within walking distance. Free laundry facilities are available for guests (with detergent) and there is 7/24 coffee and water in the attached cafe. Finally, I wanted to highlight the wonderful staff - friendly, polite and provided excellent recommendations.

Family trip. The rooms were nice and large. Bathroom was also very nice. But, getting into and out of the tub might be a challenge for someone who has mobility issues. Kinda a big step over. I think that is just the Korean style. Hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the closest subway station. Has a very simple cafe downstairs. But, there are plenty of options for food within 5 minutes of the hotel. Overall, a great place to stay.

Very centrally located in Insadong. 1 min walk to the main shopping street. Smaller hotel so less amenities but also don't have to deal with crowds or wait 15 min for elevator. I love hotels where you can just get in and out quickly instead of walking through 7 lobbies. Rooms are ok size; It's.a little dark because you are surrounded by buldings everywhere but that's Seoul for you. Very clean and well maintained.

낡은 느낌은 있지만 깔끔하게 관리는 잘 되고 있는 것 같고요. 위치는 상당히 좋아요. 광화문 경복궁 광장시장 등 도보 가능해요. 비가 와서 짐만 맡기려 했는데 얼리 체크인도 해주셨어요. 객실도 넓직하고 욕조도 있고 좋아요. 한가지, 샤워 커튼이나 칸막이가 없어서 물이 굉장히 많이 튀었어요. 샤워 커튼이라도 달아주시면 좋겠습니다.

It did seem to be in a fairly good location and is a smaller I think 8 story property. Rooms were good sized, good air conditioning and good beds. Property is a little tricky to find not being right on a street like most and open shower takes a bit to get used to the water going everywhere.

I would it definitely come back to this hotel. Very clean, comfortable beds and accommodating staff. In fact, while I was there the owner, Kevin, was by chance working the front desk and was incredibly helpful. The location Insa Dong, Seoul was perfect. It was short walking distance to the Insa dong pedestrian shopping street which was lined with fantastic shops, restaurants, and cafés. The small alleyways were so much fun to explore. It was also just a 20 minute walk to the main palace. Gyeongbokgung. The hotel and the area were all very charming. In fact, the owner went out of his way to explain to me that the name of the, Sunbee, means scholar in English because this is the area where the scholars that were attached to the palace lived. Altogether a most pleasant experience.!

It was short walking distance to the Insa dong pedestrian shopping street which was lined with fantastic shops, restaurants, and cafés. The small alleyways were so much fun to explore. It was also just a 20 minute walk to the main palace. Gyeongbokgung. The hotel and the area were all very charming. In fact, the owner went out of his way to explain to me that the name of the, Sunbee, means scholar in English because this is the area where the scholars that were attached to the palace lived. Altogether a most pleasant experience.!

Great property in a good location. The room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Moreover, Kevin at the front desk was incredibly helpful and was able to help us a few of the nuances of transit in Korea. Though I mentioned Kevin by name, all of the staff at the front desk were very helpful and informative.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent! Great shopping and restaurants minutes away. Even as vegans we found a number of great options. Walkable (about 20-25 minutes) to other attractions like Myeongdong Night Market. The bed was super comfortable. The free laundry facility helped us transition to our next destination with a refreshed wardrobe.

When naver and kakaomap failed us twice, we asked directions somewhere and they printed a map and offered to arrange a taxi. They arranged our airport van at the end of our 10 day stay. The location is excellent, in a relatively quiet corner, near a station and we enjoyed staying in Insadong. The room was very quiet and clean and amenities worked well. There are 4 of us, and we had sufficient room to sit together and enjoy late night meals and sometimes watch TV. It was a nice place to return to after fun and busy days. Sunbee Hotel added to our enjoyable vacation.

This was a clean, convenient and quiet property with friendly staff who spoke excellent English. I felt safe and welcome at all times. I appreciated how easy and convenient it was to get to shops, tourist sites, and transport (buses and subway). I will return to Seoul and will definitely stay here again!

From the beginning, I knew staying at Hotel Sunbee was going to be great. The pictures shown on the listing match exactly how they were in person, clean, organized and beautiful. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful the staff was. Both Han and Kevin were very professional, kind, approachable and helpful. I had questions prior to my stay and my questions were answered within minutes via messages. I was able to check in early, received recommendations for sight seating, had help with transportation, and they called a taxi for me to get to the airport. I’m sad to have only stayed here 1 night, but it was a great one. I will be recommending this hotel to any who wish to stay in Seoul. Great location and great staff. Thank you.

First time in Seoul. This small hotel is tucked in a narrow corner, but it is right next to the main walking street for Insadong. The guy at the desk spoke great english and gave me a map of the neighborhood with recommended restaurants. I ate at a few of them and they were great. I was able to walk to both temples, and the village and myeongdong. There are 3 different subway stations that are all about 5-10 min walk away that can get you to other parts of Seoul like the markets and Gangnam. I had a free coffee in the cafe every morning and they have a free laundry in the basement which I used. The room was pretty big and the bathroom was big too. No shower curtain, which I guess is normal in Korea. I got a taxi to Gimpo at 5am and it was no problem and took about 30 min. Two free bottles of water in the fridge every day was very nice. Everyone recommends to stay in Myeongdong for a first timer, but I am really glad I stayed here in Insadong. It's closer to the tourist sites and less hectic and less commercial.

Very centrally located in Insadong. 1 min walk to the main shopping street. Smaller hotel so less amenities but also don't have to deal with crowds or wait 15 min for elevator. I love hotels where you can just get in and out quickly instead of walking through 7 lobbies. Rooms are ok size; It's.a little dark because you are surrounded by buldings everywhere but that's Seoul for you. Very clean and well maintained.

The hotel is situated in the middle of the Insadong district of Seoul with easy access to several subway lines. The rooms are very clean and very quiet. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. One caution: it was very difficult at least for me to find the hotel because no part of it faces a major street. If your navigation system tells you to go down an alley just follow it!

Great English speaking staff. Self laundry - only two washers and two dryers all in Korean. Luckily there was a cleaning lady when I went, and she kindly helped me out. The cafe had free coffee and a selection of yummy sandwiches and other drinks. Location - literally one minute walk to the shopping streets. There is a CU convenience store within a minute walk. You can walk to Gyeongbokkun palace. The room is stylish. Bathroom floor gets extremely slippery! I’d stay again when I’m on a budget.

This is a lovely quiet hotel, nicely appointed right in the heart of Insadong and in easy walking distance to many of the best attractions of historic Seoul. The vibe is quietly classy. The only drawback is that the hotel is too small to have breakfast service and some amenities, but you can walk around the corner to Amid Hotel to buy breakfast buffet, pick up snacks at their cafe or grocery shop. We were there 10 days, and it was totally worth it. Would definitely stay there again.

Overall nice hotel. Had a twin deluxe and was expecting two beds but one turned out to be just padding on the floor…. No restaurant on premise. Just cafe for drinks with limited hours. Laundry room a plus though the dryers takes hours to dry anything. Nice staff in the few encounters with them.

They also give out a photocopied sketch map highlighting different local restaurants/cafes. The attached Sunbee cafe really only serves drinks so don't count on it for breakfast although there any plenty of other options nearby.

The hotel staff was very helpful. They give you recommendations about where to eat which was very helpful. There are lots of shopping areas, restaurants, street food vendors and transportation is close by. The room was very spacious which is great. I would definitely stay here again.

Location is excellent – easy walk to the many galleries and shops of insadong . The front desk staff were helpful. There is no breakfast. We walked to a nearby bagel shop for breakfast every morning. There is free access to laundry facilities, but in June 2026, they are not working well. I tried to do laundry one evening, and it took six hours for me to get one load washed and dry. This is a small and peaceful hotel. There are no shower curtains, but you get used to it! The air conditioning works very well, which is not true at some hotels in Korea.
