I wasn't aware of Yunokawa Onsen when choosing Hakodate for a stay but pleasantly surprised about the area, it is easily reachable by taxi from the JR Station. The hotel is a pleasant experience with children with it's japanese style rooms. I especially enjoyed the spacious japanese room with bath.

The front desk clerks are the huge drawback in this hotel. I’ve been to numerous hotels in Japan. I did communicate via apps without having any difficulties. But, at this hotel, I feel unwelcome and rushed through the process even though there was no one waiting behind. I don’t think it is the language barrier. It is lack of training or lack of willingness to host foreign tourists.

The hotel is a bit old and cleanliness can be improved. Staff were friendly and helpful, lot of parking space and free parking are pros.
