函館駅から徒歩１分もかからないような好立地でコンビニや飲食店も入っている駅前商業施設の中にあるのでどこに行くにもとっても便利。客室はよくあるビジネスホテルより広めでゆったりしている。歯ブラシ、ボディタオル、ヘアブラシなどのアメニティはロビーでピックアップするシステムだが化粧品は置いていないので女性は持参するか大浴場に置いてあるものを利用した方がいい。部屋着やスリッパ、通気性の良いお風呂用バック、ミネラルウォーターが完備されている。大きなタヌキが目印の大浴場「ぽんの湯」は木目調で薄暗くなんとなくジブリ映画に出てきそうな情緒があり、お湯加減もちょうど良く癒される。この大浴場は敷地内にあるスポーツクラブの利用者と兼用になっているが、特に混み合うということもなかった。お風呂上がりにアイスキャンディーのサービスあり（おひとり様１本限り）朝食はバイキング形式。特に品数が多いわけではないが、自分で作る海鮮丼や名物の山川牛乳が提供されるなど、和洋食それぞれに頑張っている感じがした。ただ、宿泊バック料金ではなく、このバイキング単体の料金が3300円は高すぎると思う。ホテルスタッフの対応は可もなく不可もなくだったが、人によって全く笑顔もなく愛想の悪い人もいた。
