Room too close to lobby. Window curtains not dark enough. Rooftop pool and furniture needs a make over. Furniture was worn out and dirty.

Really great location and nice rooms my only disappointment was dirty hot tub and a very cold pool also restaurant and bar was closed most of the time,

El restaurante tiene hora de cierre muy temprano, y no había agua al caliente en el jacuzzi. , de ahí en fuera todo perfecto, un increíble hotel. Volvería sin duda.

Los Pilares was perfect -- close enough to everything near the center, but far enough away that it was peaceful and quiet. I loved the ability to take a dip in the pool or grab food at the rooftop restaurant. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was was super clean, with beautiful patios on both levels, plenty of seats and the most beautiful potted plants throughout the property. Minisplits in the rooms. Rooms are limited, only 14. Staff were great! Especially Adrian the bartender, made the most beautiful and tasty mezcal drinks. And Roque our waiter was very attentive. All staff are very polite and helpful. Highly recommended. Walking distance to dining, shopping and site seeing. Small pool and hot tub available. Quiet and Secured.

Beautiful and elegant property. Professional and friendly staff. Good restaurant on site. Fabulous rooftop with pooi, terrasse and garden. Neighborhood can be loud at night/early morning.

Lovely property with clean basic rooms. Rooms surround a courtyard like area on the main floor and a covered area on the second floor where there is a fantastic restaurant (the food, service and ambiance were all great) and a small pool and lounging area. Hotel was a perfect place to have as a base for walking the tourist areas of Oaxaca and accessing transportation for attractions farther away. The staff in the hotel are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room was quickly and thoroughly cleaned every day, and the front desk team was always available to lend a hand and provide guidance. If I was asked for one thing that would have made my stay more enjoyable, I would suggest that the plumbing be upgraded to ensure hot water in the shower would come more quickly and remain at a stable temperature; however, this was just a minor annoyance. Would recommend to anyone looking for clean, accessible and basic accommodations with fantastic service and food.

Great hotel! A short walk to the centro. The pool and lounge areas were wonderful. Unfortunately my husband and I got sick while on this trip but the staff spoke good English and were great about directing us to a pharmacy. A perfect place to stay!

Los Pilares was our oasis in Oaxaca to relax and unwind after walking and eating our way through the city. The upstairs terrace was perfect for staying out of the heat, and the rooms were spotless. I’d recommend this hotel for anyone and we’ll definitely return. The area of Jalatlaco is an incredible area for walking around cafe and gallery hopping.

El hotel es muy bello, sus habitaciones amplias y bonitas. Sin embargo, a las 5 am hay mucho ruido, el agua tarda 5 minutos en salir caliente. Al abrir la puerta de la habitación en PB se encuentra uno con la ropa de cama y toallas sucias de las habitaciones en el piso lo que no es agradable. Si corrigen estos aspectos la estancia sería perfecta.

Great Location in Barrio de Jalatlaco. Wonderful staff. Clean rooms. But the hot water slowly fluctated between scalding hot to cold. With a head full of shampoo lather, one shouldn't have to wait for a period of 2 - 3 minutes of cold water to pass in order to rinse. This is the only reason for my low rating.

Good location, beautiful property excellent Staff, clean room

nice part of town, great service, had an episode of no hot water but they did get right on it and fixed it. Kind of a weird layout for rooms but once you get past that, there was nothing negative experienced other than a little bit of notice in the open areas. Overall very nice. I'd say it is a B kind of place. There's much worse you could do and a little better you could do. Good value.

I really enjoyed staying at Los Pilares because it is a beautiful building; my room was comfortable and the bed excellent; the rooftop garden and restaurant were lovely, and staff were very pleasant and helpful. My biggest problem was that mostly I couldn’t get the water to be hot. This greatly affects my willingness to get into the shower. I much prefer old local buildings like this one to a standard could-be-anywhere hotel when I travel and choose them if available. I know this means not having everything American-perfect. But hot water is really pretty essential. I still give it a top rating, but wistfully yearn for that water.

The reviews prior to our stay are very misleading. While the entrance and rooftop gave a fantastic first impression, the experience quickly turned sour. The rooms all face a central courtyard which amplifies every sound from within the hotel and the street. The lack of soundproofing, with merely a door full of gaps and single-glazed windows, means noise is unavoidable and at times amplified . Our first night was disrupted by a live band in the property next door which played until 2am, with no intervention or apology from the hotel management, leaving us severely sleep-deprived for our early morning plans. Our room was a disappointment, the bed, advertised as a double was an obvious small double and short, (I am 6 ft and my feet were hanging over the edge). Within the room we could hear every footstep around the hotel the bathroom window was a shutter therefore we could here everything from the busy street and a generator (or something) kicked in at 6 am with a huge bang which would wake up the heaviest of sleepers. The thin glass of the window and door leading to the courtyard gave no privacy, as we could hear every whisper and footstep of our neighbours. One thing I would like noted is that the staff working in the restaurant on the rooftop were lovely and attentive. It is a shame the other staff were not. Overall, I'm confused by the high ratings; this is one of the noisiest and least private hotels I have encountered. I recommend avoiding it if you value your sleep.

The AC made alot of noise and we experienced a power outage during our stay.

Good location away from crowds but walkable to where everything is happening and nice outdoor terrace. One major negative though, the Wifi never worked and there isn’t celular signal in bedroom, so WiFi is a must. Staff tried to help but they had no idea how to fix it, even though they are friendly didn’t think they were qualified to deal with stuff like this. A/c in bedroom was directly in front of the bed so you would freeze at night, we tried moving the fan but there was no way.

Nice hotel, room is not sound proof but was beautiful and clean. Staff is courteous. The restaurant serves fantastic Shakshuka eggs. The courtyard space is beautiful and so is the rooftop jacuzzi. The neighborhood is safe and walkable. Very close to the beautiful Santo Domingo church.

La habitación era muy oscura sin ningún punto de luz natural. Tienen un problema de ruido tanto del exterior como dentro del hotel. Sería conveniente insonorizar al menos las puertas .

Property was in a great area close to everything. However, the front desk young lady was rude.

Every staff member, from the reception desk to housekeeping, was incredibly warm, attentive, and professional. They anticipated my needs without being asked and handled every request promptly and with genuine charm and smiles. The level of care and personalized attention elevated this hotel to a truly exceptional experience. I'm eager to return to Oaxaca just for the hospitality!

Excelente servicio, todo el personal muy amable y los cuartos están excelentes, cómodos y limpios

El hotel es comodo. Ajnque cerca del centro de noche la zona no esta tan iluminada y caminable hacia el. El personal de recepción es grosero. Expedia no respetó la cobertura por cancelación y en el hotel nos cobraron extra por una niña de 2 años sin aceptar ponernos cama extra. Nos quedamos pq no teniamos otro hospedaje. Expedia fatal y el hotel peor.

While the hotel is beautiful and comfortable, the best thing about the hotel are the staff. Each one was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend staying here!

No funcionaba la terminal de Amex para el check in y la respuesta de la recepciinista fue que no me daria habitación, con tono con falta de amabilidad y de buscar uns solución, de un problema de ellos. En la habitación no había acondicionador en la habitación. La recepciinista estaba cansada, creo que les falta personale, el recepcionista de la mañana serio, no dan recomendaciones . Las opciones de huevos al gusto pocas y el mesero te respetia lo que había no más, unos huevos a la mexicana no se podía. muy ruidoso, si estacionamiento a 20 metros con una alarma que sonaba varias veces en la noche

Very friendly and helpful staff. The arrival welcome was great. Everything explained and demonstrated in detail from location of stores and restos nearby to recommendations to how to adjust the air conditioning and lights and which way to turn the knobs for hot water. All with humor and grace. The place is beautiful.

Felt really taken care of. 15 min walk from center, but lots of local cafes and restaurants nearby as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Excelente lugar para hospedarte, muy bonito, cómodo y limpio, buena atención, muy buena ubicación, a 15 min del templo de Santo Domingo, muchos restaurantes cerca, bares cerca, el hotel tiene servicio de taxi y te dan una guía de lugares turísticos y opciones de restaurantes.

Los Pilares er et meget flot hotel i klassisk stil med patio, rooftop terasse og fantastiske planter! Jalatlaco var den perfekte belliggenhed i Oaxaca, med mange skønne caféer og kunst lige ude for døren. Vi nød vores ophold og lange weekend i Oaxaca. Tak endnu engang.

We had an amazing stay here! The location in Jalatlalco is perfect—close to everything but still quiet enough to relax. The whole place is clean, and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping team to the restaurant crew. They made sure we had everything we needed and were always happy to help. Overall, just a really comfortable, easy, and enjoyable stay. We would definitely come back.

The boutique hotel was lovely, but what made the stay so enjoyable was the wonderful and friendly staff...also the incredible fresh and delicious food :)
