Hampton Inn & Suites Tacoma/Puyallup

Great location, clean and spacious rooms, great pool and gym. I especially loved the large mounted bottles of soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion in the bathroom. I was very happy with my stay!

I got an upgrade for this visit to the King Suite, as I was traveling alone and they needed the 2 queen bed rooms. I stay here at least 2x/year. Always nice. The TSLA chargers on site for the guests conveniece is a great perk, too!

Everything was great, except the pool was out of service for like 2 days of our stay.

They need better ventilation in the pool area it was way to hot to enjoy maybe a window or door that can be open every once in awhile. Coffee hot water area definitely needed to be restocked more. But overall not bad just a little pricey for the area.

The website did not indicate that the pool or hot tub was not in service - we had looked forward to enjoying both

The outside parking and side entrance were blocked off and under going construction. You were not allowed to walk or drive in that area.

Excellent location! … very close to Starbucks and the freeway. Great service and very comfy rooms. Fitness center is great too!

I had high hopes for this Hotel and given the price of near $200.00 a night you\'d expect a lot more. When I walked into the room I was greeted my a small plastic baggie with residue inside lying on the floor; the same type of baggie you expect to find drugs in. Meth, Crack, Fentanyl, who knows. There was also another piece of paper lying on the floor. Maybe no one vacuums anymore? The outlet cover was very dirty and broken, there was hair and dirt on the floor in the entry way, by the shower, and to top it off there was hair on the sheets as well - I took pics of all of it & a few are posted with this review. The room even had a card that said "squeaky clean" by "Jessica". A call to the front desk & a staff member with gloves on removed the suspected drug baggie and other paper left on the floor. No comps were made, no offer to move to another room, no apology, nothing. Breakfast was good except that the eggs and sausage were cold. The staff allowed the water to evaporate from the container and nothing was left to transfer heat to the food - the staff was notified. Pool was closed.

Very clean, as always, but is located near a major highway and freeway so you can hear traffic.

I had a delightful evening and slept beautifully. Very peaceful. And it smelled clean. Many hotels have an odor of mold and the carpets in the rooms feel gross. You don't want to stand in their showers because they are nasty. This Hampton Inn was so CLEAN. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were kind, courteous, professional, and helpful.

We enjoyed the ample parking along with a key entry garage made parking simple and felt secure. Staff was friendly and property was generally clean except for our actual room. Within minutes of getting into the room, one of our kids stepped on a goat head, we noticed that there was leftover food/trash in a trash can from a previous occupant, and the shower had obviously been used and not cleaned, evident by the residual hair and yellow soap (shampoo/body wash/conditioner provided by the hotel are clear/white,) and the bathroom door did not lock. And to top it all off, the free breakfast was sub par. Watered down juice, fake eggs, flavorless sausage patties, pretty unappetizing.

This is a really clean and updated property. The staff is extremely friendly, and a wonderful to work with.

Bathroom Could Be Cleaned Better

I found the other occupants hair in bathroom floor, near tub. Also found a pair of glasses on the room carpet, which led us to believe the room was not vacuumed or mopped. Housekeeping came and cleaned the floor of the bathroom. They were very nice.

The room and staff were wonderful. I can't say the same for the mattress. It super hard and uncomfortable.

Very spacious, clean room with updated amenities. My name was on the screen when I walked in - kinda cool. Did not have to adjust thermostat once and room was always just right. I will definitely stay again.

Room was super clean, surprisingly large bathroom with updated features. Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows! Had breakfast in the morning which had a good variety of options. Good parking too.

Great location, great breakfast, updated except had difficulty with air conditioning. I like a constant fan and there wasn’t an option, just temp control. I had to get up several times both nights lowering temp to get the fan to turn on.

The room was so bad I had to book another to get some sleep. Room had one window that faced the back entrance so the blinds needed to be closed to have any privacy meaning basically it had no windows. Room was near an elevator that binged louder in our room than the lobby. Got about an hour of sleep. Was promised Hilton Rewards points to make up for a nights stay…two months later I still haven’t received anything. Would not recommend.

I wanted to give this place a five star really bad. The T*sla chargers are an awesome amenity! Also close to the Assembly Hall. However, the beds are so hard. Feels like a concrete block with a yoga mat on it. Also, they installed a wall thermostat and disabled the HAC unit controller. So the fan runs all the time. You can't turn it off. So, the point is to SLEEP at a hotel. Didn't work. I tossed in discomfort all night. I don't think that I will return unless they ditch the wall controller and get better beds.

Noisy elevator all night long. Didn’t get much sleep.Couldn’t get the window shades to go down either. Could hear the tv above us. We were on the 2nd floor, room 223. Positives: room was nice, plenty of hot water in the shower. We enjoyed the breakfast very much!

I loved my room. It was modern, clean and comfortable. I liked the photography in the room. Someone took time and care with this. The bed was amazing. The welcome message in the screen was a nice touch.

Good breakfast, clean rooms. Front desk staff was inexperienced. Took me an hour to check in because of a key card issue. They could have handled this better

Check in was confusing because the online check in procedure will not accept the confirmation number from Expedia. I called the hotel and she did not check me in but instead made a note that I was enroute. I did not pay in advance and attempted to pay on the phone which she could not do because she thought there would be continued confusion as to whether I had prepaid already. The weekend desk clerk was more a zombie than a person. He never looked up from his computer screen and dressed in the same all black clothing always wearing a black jacket at the counter. He never looked up or greeted anyone at the door. A mass murderer with a machine gun could have walked in and he would not have noticed because he never looked up from the screen. Late one night, we stayed four days, we were locked out. That night manager locked the door which surprised us because we had never seen the door locked. There was no room service because it was a holiday period. We begged for towels. The breakfast was cold and pretty gross. Chunks of cold scrambled eggs, "turkey sausage", cold also. Oatmeal that was a thick as mud. Yes, I do know the consistency of mud. Cups for coffee and juice were more absent then available. Numeral times we attempted to get coffee or juice and there were no cups. One morning it was jalepeno spiced egg, and the next was oold chewy egg muffins. On our last day, islanders sat next to the buffet and when the food came out, the islanders took it all.

Horrible. We pulled into town at 7:30am and needed a room until 2pm. Front desk was totally fine with it. So we got a room. Room service woke us up twice after telling them we had the room until 2 and front desk came knocking earlier. Absolutely not acceptable.

The check in staff was amazing. And they checked on. Me multiple times throughout my stay.

I would like to thank Javi personally, he was very helpful. If I lived here I would offer him a position with my company. All of the staff was friendly also. It was a wonderful stay, and I look forward to stay here again....

Good service

Ended up packing up and leaving at 8pm the day I checked in. The front desk burnt popcorn or something in the microwave and set off the whole hotels fire alarm. Woke my 4 year old and 4 month old up in a pure panic. The front desk lady just laughed and said “oops”. I couldn’t get my 4 year old to calm down, she was terrified it was going to happen again. I understand accidents happen but the lack of accountability was disappointing.

The property was close to Good Samaritan Hospital/Multicare.

Very clean, friendly staff, the hot tub and pool area clean as well. The breakfast was good with many different options. The downtown area is cute with decent restaurants and shops. The location is a little noisy being right by the hospital and major on and off ramps for the highway, so definitely bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Overall a good experience.

Hotel is located on a extremely busy street with lots of traffic so it was very difficult to get a good night's sleep, plus the location must have high crime rate because our rental car was stolen out of the parking lot.

Close to the Fair, breakfast was delicious!

Simple hotel near the fairgrounds. We only stayed one night, it seemed like a standard hotel, nothing spectacular. Staff was very friendly which helped. We missed a charger for our car, there was only a Tesla charging station which our car cannot use. The drainage in the sink of the bathroom seemed bad. Breakfast wasn't the greatest, a couple more healthy options would be fantastic, especially when traveling with kids as it seemed too many sugar options were available.

Totally sufficient hotel for a short stay! Lovely bedding, mattress was average comfort. The room was nicely furnished with a modern vibe. Breakfast was typical for continental style with many choices but poor quality food. We would definitely stay again!
