This was a great location to stay for the state fair, only about a 5 min walk. Area is safe and secure. It is located along side the freeway so it was quite noisy from traffic for most of the night. We had an issue with our room keys at the beginning but the staff were very quick to get us into our room. We were on the second floor so we could hear noise from around us since its an older building, not sound proof. There is no breakfast but they do offer tea and coffee and have 2 vending machines inside and 1 pop machine outside

The outside of the property needed some TLC. The rooms were nice , clean, and kept up. Property definitely needed an elevator to move luggage to the 3rd floor.

Parking was easy. Busy street in front and a hospital a couple of blocks away with ambulances blaring, but the room blocked out most of the traffic noise. I was not aware of a breakfast but one can make coffee or tea in the room.

The room wasn’t clean but the staff was nice and after not finding the ice bucket I went down and asked for one. The hard wood floor wasn’t mopped and had dirt everywhere. We slept fine but for $155 I wish it was a little more attention to cleanliness.

My room was spotless, great bed and pillows, furnishings in good condition. There is definitely road noise, and since you’re next to the hospital, an occasional siren. But quiet enough after 10 that I had no trouble sleeping. Would definitely stay again.

Close enough to walk to the Fair and not have to pay extra for parking. The rooms look like they have all been uodated recently and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms are. The only issue i had was that the AC didnt seem to be working within a few min of our arrival as it was 74° in the room. I dis mention this to the ofice and was told to use the panel on the wall next to the TV which i did. The AC unit finally did come on once or twice for a few min each time but after we left and came back the temp was still 73°. Throughout the entire next day the room temperature never dropped below 73° when we went to bed that night. By that point we were leaving the next day but for someone who does not handle heat well at all it was extremely uncomfortable.

This place was suitable for what I paid, $85, I didn’t have high expectations but I was looking for cheap. It was clean, staff was friendly but the front door was hard to deadbolt the lock so when I found the sweet spot the door left a gap enough that showed light coming from outside and the tremendous amount of traffic noise. Worse part of it was hands down in my 46 years on earth was the worst mattress ever. Like I said, I am cheap and I would stay there again.

The room was very comfortable and nicely updated. Would be nice to have grab bars to get in & out of the tub. I stayed 3 nights and my room was never serviced wtih fresh towels nor was the bed made. We needed a place to stay close to the fairgrounds. The hotel was situated so we had an easy walk. The room seemed updated and the bed was comfortable. The outside stairs were at a slant as well as the walkway to our room. One major drawback was the traffic noise. I like background noise when I sleep so I was able to not be bothered except for the occasional ambulance. If you want a quiet room, don’t stay here

They upgraded this hotel really well. The bed was nice, the bathroom was good. Our overall complaints would be that the heater didn’t work right and would switch to AC suddenly. The pillows were extremely too thick and it was very noisy. Also there is so breakfast of any kind. But they did have coffee.

Room looked clean on the surface, but after 5 minutes walking barefoot on the floor, the soles of my feet were black. The half-inch gap around the door and thin windows provided no insulation from the loud noise of the street and freeway out fromt. Worst of all was getting awakened ar 5 am by the desk staff pounding on our door and shouting that our room was supposed to be vacant and we needed to leave immediately. Apparently. the person who checked us in had forgotten to mark our arrival in the computer so we were marked a no'-show. After three minutes of being shouted at and treated like an intruder, the woman made a curt apology and left. But after such a horrible experience, we couldn't get back to sleep. Being awakened at 5am is bad enough. but dealing with an angry, shouting staff member made it so much worse.

This hotel is a destination for HorrorCon/WA Expo events and walking distance (you should expect that nearby traffic will be loud at night through - you are right next to a hospital btw!) Severe weather in late October - knocked out the power for 3 hours, next time we mite bring extra lamps, was not so bad however the mini-fridge/micro/tv were not on a surge protector as it turned out. Power came back on and we heard frying electrical noise and burning smell. Front desk super friendly to offer to swap out replacement fridge right away. So main complaint is no surge protectors for bad weather each year. Great beds and marshmallow cloud pillows, with microwave and fridge in rooms. Will be back again.

Not the worst place, in fact it was my new favorite after a couple of stays but that changed when I was told I couldn’t check into an already-clean room just 45 minutes early without a $30 fee. The room was ready, I’m clearly just a tired business guy and not some sketchy tweaker, but that small consideration to customer happiness was thrown out for the chance to make a couple more bucks. I even asked her if the room was clean and ready, so that it would be no pressure on housekeeping, and she said, “oh yes. You just need to wait an hour or pay $30.” Ridiculous. So the search for a properly trained staff continues else where I suppose. Don’t even ask to get a room with a desk or chair, lol.

For the 4 nights I stayed in Basecamp, not one time did housekeeping come and clean. The morning we were checking out housekeeping decides to come? It felt like an insult to come the last day when I mentioned it to the front desk TWICE. I had to come down another time just to get clean towels since no one was coming to clean

Stayed 2 nights; Went thru 5 room cards as they seemed to either not work, or worked once. Room wasn't clean (dirty, dusty). Room was not made up / no fresh towels; had to ask for towels & coffee. Nice, friendly, accommodation reception staff - all very young!

The property is older, but the rooms are very nicely remodeled, clean, and very comfortable - even the towels are nice. Considering the area, it was a good value as well. The only downside is noise from the very busy nearby roads - light sleepers may want to consider a different choice.

We chose this location as we were attending a concert as part of the Puyallup fair. This was an excellent choice. Good price , free parking, walking distance to the fairgrounds as well as shopping and restaurants. It is located on a major road traffic noise was noticable.

I found Basecamp Puyallup after I had reservation issues with another nearby hotel, and it was one of those happy accidents where a setback turned out for the best. The staff at Basecamp were accommodating and friendly. My room was newly renovated and exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable. The property is within walking distance from the Washington Fairgrounds and MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital. I'm a travel nurse and my initial plan was to stay in a hotel until I found an apartment, but I decided to stay the length of my contract at Basecamp as it was perfect for my needs..

I spent 5 nights there and the best thing was how close restaurants were. Target and Walmart were also close. The lack of an elevator was brutal, especially when my keycards would refuse to work, causing multiple unnecessary trips. The keycards and door locks are barely functional. The dog area was filled with rotting crab apples which meany there was a ton of bees in the area.
