Property in great location, big spacious rooms, only thing I did want to mention, it was a little difficult getting into the bath/shower for me as I have bad hips, but that’s just me. Pool wasn’t open either.

Great stay. Perfect location with parking at Melbourne Central, check in around the corner and walking distance to great food/shopping etc. scooters nearby made getting around the city a breeze.

Bathroom needs a good clean, mould and grime built up. Cups also dirty. Very dated room, small TV’s, no full length mirror in room. At least the bed looked clean. Spa was okay, but no instructions so I just kept pressing buttons till something happened. Staff was friendly, so that’s a small plus. Location was great, main reason why we chose the place. Thin windows, even on 9th floor you could hear people talking on the street.

Property booking was easy, and communication from staff was adequate as we had an after hours check in. Disappointed that the recommended parking (stand car park) could not give you access to the building despite being told it does, so when the car park closed at 10pm you lost access to your car. Bed was firm but comfortable, pillows not very comfortable. Property was clean and well kept. Great for a 1 night stay for a small family.

Spa was cold which was disappointing but everything else good

The room was totally dusty. The carpet already old and dirty with many stains. The stove was rusty and disgusting! Did not cook once. In the fridge the shelf for the bottles was missing...obviously broke and was not replaced....so difficult to store open (milk)bottles without a mess. The bed was comfortable and the cleaning and reception staff was friendly! The so called "spa" not very inviting. There was a huge amount of strange foam when you turned on the jacuzzi. The location could not be better in the heart of CBD

This property was clean and comfortable, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, and service was excellent. We had a kitchenette which was great, we cooked our breakfast and didn’t have to leave out room. Gym was great. Only thing was the pool could do with a clean.

Location is perfect. I didn't like that the parking was more expensive compared to other hotels.

Great location and will def stay there again, the only issue was with the self parking, it would have been better if instructions could be provided before checkin. I attended reception first and checked in and it was only at that point we were told about the parking process in the private car park close by. If we could have the option to pay the parking fee at the time of booking and then have the details emailed it would have saved us about an hour of having to locate the parking afterwards. That was the only issue, room, staff and location were all fantastic. Oh and the price was great too. Id 100% stay there again.

Well worth the price. Sure it’s an older property, especially the bathroom tiles and kitchen, but the rest of the unit that I was staying in was very comfortable and well furnished. I particularly like the studio as I was traveling solo, which I found was the perfect size. Not too large nor small. Lighting was adjustable which was great. Didn’t try any of the swim/gym facilities but looked quite makeshift-y.

There are only two positive aspects of this property: the friendly reception staff and the convenient location. Unfortunately, the quality of the rooms leaves much to be desired. Despite being assured of a "deep clean," my room was still unclean on a second attempt. Thick dust coated the picture frames above the bed (which I had to clean myself), and there was a gap in the bathroom between the bath and shower that had clearly been neglected for some time—alive bugs included (I cleaned this too). The carpets were littered with stuck-on gum and food, the sofas were stained, and the fridge area had not been cleaned in ages. The curtains were falling down (unfortunately, I didn’t photograph this), and the bath plug was unusable as its seal had completely disintegrated. To make matters worse, one cleaning staff member displayed unprofessional behavior, directing their stress at me as a guest. When I raised concerns, I was met with the response: "We are understaffed, so what do you want? Now or tomorrow?" This confrontational attitude was entirely inappropriate. While I understand they were facing staffing challenges, this is not something a guest should have to endure. Overall, this was a highly disappointing stay. I wouldn’t stay here again and strongly recommend spending an extra $50–$60 for a proper hotel experience elsewhere.

The property was in very bad condition and was filthy. We arrived late in the evening and check-in by getting our key from a lockbox. The instructions were good and the obtaining the key was fine. However, when we got to the room we were shocked by how dirty it was. The plates weren't clean. The bathroom was disgusting. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in several months. There was dust and dirt everywhere. Additionally, the shower water fluctuated from burning hot to ice cold continuously. We notified them through the app that night and the next morning went to the front desk to ask for another room. The first thing the person asked was if we took photos of the room. We did and responded as such. He said that we needed to email the photos to him before he can give us a new room. It was strange to us that there was no apology or other question, just asked if we had proof. They provided us with another room, which was cleaner than the first, but still disgusting. The shower was better in that the fluctuations in the temperature were not as great. We didn't receive the "gift of wine" as stated in the listing. Definitely would not stay in this place again and would encourage the health department to shut it down.

Aircon on 10th floor wasn’t working - horrible night’s sleep due to hot/stuffy room as well as only a top sheet on mattress (no mattress protector too) so sheet kept slipping mouldy/dirty bathroom. Moved to 7th floor- great aircon but dirty/mouldy bathroom and air vents. Reception staff were great at sorting issues out but disappointed that these issues were there to start with. Certainly made for an interesting stay.

Room was not cleaned at all from previous customers. Air con not working. False advertising of pool & features eg no daily paper. Poor customer service & terrible management

This was excellent service abd house keeping was excellent and very clean. Enjoy my stay

Unit was a little dusty. Don't think it has had a good clean for some time. Also our unit had mould in the silicone around the bath and needs replacing. Not too noisy and a good view of the post office clock.

Wasn't an easy experience when trying to figure out how to check in after hours, wasn't provided any details Property wasn't updated like advised and when arrived room wasn't clean from previous people in the room

Property unattended have to check in at another hotel around the corner. Property had no air conditioner and was very hot. Shower would not regulate temperature was either scolding hot or freezing cold. Bathroom had mould in multiple areas. No power points in user friendly areas for charging etc. Don’t waste your money

It's not a 4 star hotel. Floors were wet, rooms not properly cleaned. It was all livable but not what was advertised

The studio is a good size with a door to separate the bedroom from living room. A double couch and full size fridge. BUT the air conditioning is very old and on our second day it stopped working. We called for help but no one was available to fix or knew how to fix it. This meant the second night sleep was rough as it was too warm in the room.

Great location, but rooms showing wear

Location was fantastic. Room spacious, clean and with everything you need. Unfortunately the curtains didn't close fully and the neon building sign adjacent meant the bedroom was floodlit all night. The ironing board was broken and kept collapsing.

Great location, nice property overall, but two complaints- no WiFi, and not a single usable outlet in the bedroom. Very annoying for nighttime charging of electronics.

It was convenient but noisy through the night due to our room facing the main street. Street noise made it difficult to sleep. Not double glazed windows.

I like the location and the spacious rooms. Will book again...... I did 7 days later ;-)

It was not actually Somerset but another name. No reception at the hotel, and no housekeeping at all, even towel change. Dishwasher was in the room, but no detergents. Checking in at 8 pm, I should call 40 minutes to find the reception which was closed, and nobody was there...

I had the most bad experience in my travel life, when arrived to the hotel at 8:10pm, to understand that at 8pm the reception closed and they simply canceled my 5 days reservation which I made a few months ago! Leaving me and my wife to find alternatives so late. Someone came to open only after more than an hour of begging and refusing. It is very sad to find tgis sort of behavior for customers

Concierge was friendly and accommodating. Early/late check out granted. Room is spacious and complete with mini kitchen, dining, living rooms and washer/dryer with detergents! Location is readily accessible. Perfect stay for comfort and convenience. Would happily come back to this accommodation.

Handy location but looking rather tired and run down. Had to get someone to unlock safe. They had to come back the next day to unlock. Had to request the complimentary bottle of wine. Latch on front load washing machine damaged which made it hard to close and therefore function. Table in the lounge seemed to be damaged as very wobbly. Room 608. Have stayed before when reception fully staffed and someone onsite for any issues. No longer have staff onsite. On arrival 2 people at reception. One eating a meal and watching tv or movie on a tablet. Hardly a great first impression.

Good location, loved having a place to cook if needed, wash clothes, and convenient dishwasher. Staff were fantastic, so kind and informative.

Had stayed several times before but has since changed ownership / management. No onsite staff. Like a ghost hotel. Lobby shabby and lack of cleaning in common area and lift. Have to check in around the cutter but steps up to reception. No option to call if any issues as room phone doesn’t work. I stayed in 1015.

Arrived at 7:30 pm, we requested twin room on our booking, we got a queen bed. We asked if they can change it we were asked to seperate the bed ourselves as they have no housekeeping after 8pm. Housekeeping is the big issue here. When you ask during hours to clean your room, expect it not to bed done.

Overall the accommodation is good, traffic and street noise would be normal for a central city location so all good. We were on the 9th floor so the view down Elizabeth st from our corner apartment was nice. The check in was a nightmare, admittedly not a standard check in, my brother arrived early in the afternoon then went out to meet a friend for dinner. I arrived later after the reception was closed so I requested they left a key in the secure key safe for my arrival. When I got there I collected the key (actually 2key cards) and went to the accommodation, all good. Then I went out to get some food on return only one key card worked. At 12:30am was woken by a phone call my brother’s keycard had stopped working so I let him in. Just as well one out of the 3 cards continued working. Problem fixed by reception in the morning- no apologies!

Really great location.

Fantastic location in the centre of the city. Very comfortable and spacious. Will definitely stay here again.

This stay was a convenient location in the CBD of Melbourne, close to shopping, food and entertainment. Access was easy and checking in and out was simple and quick. Unfortunately it could do with some improved sound proofing around the windows and our toilet had a drip, simple fixes

I didn’t like there is no office hours and after hours dedicated person staff available at desk. Also, there was no room service available or asked during my stay at 3 nights. Iron not available in room and no landline contact to reception.
