Absolutely beautiful building and rooms. Contact-less check-in made it so easy to settle in after the trip to get there. Right on the water. We had a private balcony that looked over the water which was super romantic. My partner and I stayed here for our anniversary and indulged in the romance package which was very sweet and well-thought out. Its nearby to drive anywhere but transit is nice and close as well. Its across the street from a beautiful little park on one side and the ocean on the other. The included breakfast was great quality. The meals are cooked per table and although a set menu (changes each day) they accomodate changes. One day was pankcakes with a parfait starter and fresh juice, coffee, and tea. We will absolutely be coming back for our next special occassion.

What appealed first and formost was the stately manor and where it was located on Dallas and Cook overlooking a wide span w of the ocean, on walking trails and close to cook village. There was convenient free parking on the property. The people working in manor were very welcoming, and accommodating. The manor was beautifully decorated in period furnishings and very clean, did NOT have the old funky smells usually found with old unkept buildings. The breakfast room was cheery and the breakfasts varied day to day prepared by a chef. There were refreshments, water bottles and cookies and the most delicious French apple cake for snacks.

Absolutely fantastic place, friendly helpful staff and the Breakfast was amazing ...different menu every day and high class food and beverages on tap 24/7 only complaint is room should have been serviced, coffee etc replenished each day.

Visiting friends in town who live just down the street from Dashwood, so the location was great for us. Spacious & comfy room. Friendly staff, very helpful, good breakfast each of our two mornings. Great walking path along the water, and wonderful city park across the street. Half hour walk through the park and you’re downtown. Only negative was the lack of a common space (room) where you could hang out and meet other guests.

Staff were very friendly. Included breakfast was excellent. There were complimentary snacks provided in the common area 24/7. Great view of the ocean from our room and easy access to walking trails. Only a few blocks away from dining options on Cook street.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Dyson was fabulous! Breakfast was sufficient and abundant; however, quality was low (cheap white bread/cheap sausage). The service was quick and friendly and the setting was lovely. Our room was as described with a lovely seaside view and breeze and the staff was extremely friendly and organized. The area to make tea/coffee and enjoy a snack was most helpful as well. The one main point would be that for the price of the stay, the entrance has the potential to be stunning and the gardens are terribly overgrown. A fix there would make all the difference. Thanks again!

This B&B offers a good breakfast and fresh baked goods are offered throughout the day as well as bottled water and soft drinks, coffee & tea. Once of the drawbacks is that air conditioning is not available and streets around the B&B are very busy with vehicles and having windows opened makes it very noisy. Very few restaurants are located near the establishment. A beautiful pathway is accessible just across the street to walk along the shoreline. Staff are extremely nice and offer excellent service!

The room was not the one shown in the booking . It was supposed to have a jetted tub , fireplace and separate sitting area , false advertising , it had none of those things ( received 25$ for this mistake ) . The bed was comfortable ., The room was clean except for carpet stains . The room had a musty smell that made it difficult to sleep, opening all windows was necessary for the night. The staff was very pleasant at breakfast. The breakfast was good and nicely presented in a pretty room with a nice view and nicely set tables . Honestly a good declutter in common areas and fresh carpets would improve this place greatly. A good garden tidy as well. It's a beautiful location and free parking is a perk along with complimentary coffee,tea and muffins. I probably would not choose to stay here again.

Rooms needed major tlc. The first room we booked had stained carpets, filthy blinds and just looked worn. We moved to another room for one night. The carpet was cleaner, but the bathroom smelled of mildew and was way too small with a low ceiling for anyone over 5’10”. Blinds were broken in the middle. Only redeeming qualities are the staff and location. Very friendly and helpful, but the property owners need to renovate the rooms we stayed in. Clean carpet, blinds that work and replacing worn out furniture would be a start. Not worth the money.

Schönes historisches Gebäude mit passenden antiquarischen Möbeln eingerichtet. Bett knarrt, genauso wie die Böden. Schmutzige Fenster, da macht auch der Meerblick keinen Sinn. Teppiche riechen unangenehm. Sehr kleines ungemütliches Bad. Hellhörig. Ausreichend Parkplätze auf dem Gelände vorhanden. Self Check-in, da Rezeption nur bis 16:00 Uhr besetzt ist - keine Begrüßung oder Veranschiedung. Frühstück wird fertig serviert, ohne Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Wem es nicht schmeckt (z.B. Toast mit Butter bestrichen, frittierte Kartoffeln mit Schale) - Pech gehabt. Personal war freundlich. Kostenlose Getränke und Gebäck den ganzen Tag. Keine Zimmerreinigung. Das ist mir insgesamt etwas zu wenig Service und zuviel Kosteneinsparung. Lage direkt neben dem Beacon Hill Park am Wasser, sehr schön und ruhig. Draußen laufen Rehe herum. Insgesamt zwiespältiger Eindruck. Interessante Atmosphäre, aber zu wenig Service für den recht hohen Zimmerpreis.

I really enjoyed the property. The rooms are unique. The views are spectacular and the ocean is across the road! And on the other side is a beautiful park. Cannot ask for better location. The rooms are a bit tired. (stained carpets, paint peeling). But they were still clean and comfy. The service from our hostess and the team was exceptional. And overall, a very good value.

Loved the location and the breakfast. Was surprised and a bit disappointed that there was no freshening of our room...I e. bed was not made, the towels were not rehung and the dirty cups and glasses were not replaced with clean ones.

The property was lovely and clean. We had a room with a window facing the water, however the main blind was broken and the other two windows were dirty so we could not see out well. Two light bulbs were burned out, just a bit of deferred maintainance.

The location can't be beat. Breakfast was fantastic- way above what we were expecting. Staff were super friendly and attentive. The only downside was our horribly loud upstairs neighbors and subsequent lack of sleep. Very comfortable bed, though, for not sleeping. We would try to stay here again.

I’ve stayed at the Dashwood several times, and it’s always excellent. I feel very comfortable and at home here. Awesome staff, delicious breakfasts and clean, cozy, unique rooms. My favourite is the Dorset. Spacious with its own balcony on the top floor. Perfect view of Dallas Rd and the water.

Great location away from hustle of downtown Victoria. Right in from of the ocean, beach access across the street from the property, next to a large park. Walking distance to great dining options and grocery store. Room has mini-fridge and coffee maker. downstairs in common/breakfast area there is great selection of teas, Kreug coffees, and cookies. Staff is excellent. Breakfast is a high quality and sufficient variety, albeit pre-set for a day, table service, not a buffet like hotel chains. If you're tall, don't get 3-rd floor rooms, like Camelot, although quietest, the ceilings are very low. You're essentially in the attic and have to navigate roof angles sprinkled around the room and bathroom. Some imperfections in cleanliness around property.

A bit disappointed with our stay. Room was very small and bathroom especially small. A low angled ceiling made it difficult to stand up in the bathroom - there was no counter space near the sink - we bumped our heads a few times just trying to access our toiletries. Bed was fairly comfortable 😊 Breakfast was not great - cold pancakes, lukewarm hashbrowns. We’ve stayed in many Victoria b&bs and for the price we paid we expected a lot more

This is an older house with a great location. Our room was huge and decently appointed — the bed was superb—very comfortable and ornate. If there is any drawback the location is at a rather busy intersection along Dallas Road at Cook St. There can be a lot of vehicle noise. In the plus side 1) the room itself 2) the very convenient location 3) the excellent breakfast 4) the waterside park that is excellent for walking and jogging and cycling 5) the Cook village with shops and an amazing vegetable market less than 1/2 mile up Cook St. in sum a great place to stay.

The view from the room was amazing. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Loved the location. Busy traffic in the day but quiet at night. The bed was amazing and comfortable chairs (but need a foot stool). The breakfast was good. Bathroom could use a makeover. I would take out the tub and put in a shower. I wasn't crazy about the fake fireplace with the tv on top. But you can't beat that view and location. Would come back.

We took the earliest boat to VICTORIA. The staff were very nice, thank you for let us check in earlier so we can take a short nap at noon.The view outside hotel was incredible.Love here, and will be come again!:)

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and the bicycles we rode over from Washington. The location was excellent and the daily breakfast was delicious. Reallly loved having daily cookies and drinks always available. Will definitely stay again!

Property is very homey and comfortable. Very clean and quiet. Check in process was stressful as I did not receive an entry code and bail I had called many times and when I arrived the instructions for my room were not in the lobby as indicated. But I was able to reach someone right away who texted the info I needed and he was very friendly and apologetic

I stayed here with my husband and my mother while we were visiting a sick family member and the staff at the Dashwood Manor was amazing and made us feel like family. They made our stay comfortable and we will absolutely be staying again!

I am not sure if this was an issue with Dashwood Manor or Expedia but I did not receive the promised email with the access code the morning of my check in. I sent two messages to expedia and the inn that day and did not receive the code or response. I ended up finally getting access after calling Dashwood directly twice. It was an added stress and resulted in me checking in later than I had wanted.

We arrived shortly after 4 to have our codes not work- we asked other guests to show us how it worked and our codes still did not work. We were given 3 different codes, none of them worked so we had to get them to reset it. Our bedroom was nothing special, had a weird smell. Bathroom was VERY small and uncomfortable to use to say the least. When I took bags to the car they assumed that we had left even though we saw the staff in the hallway and they walked in on him using the bathroom… will not recommend to others or return.

I accidentally booked the hotel for the wrong date. When I arrived around 10 p.m., the front door was closed, so I had to call the hotel. The manager answered and was extremely professional and helpful when I explained my situation. He went above and beyond, assuring me he would take care of everything and kindly allowed me to stay despite my booking mistake. He even explained where I could find extra blankets and pillows if needed. The staff were amazing, very friendly and always eager to help.

Beautiful property and very well maintained! Ana and all the staff are absolutely wonderful! Staying here felt like going back in time! The view in front is very calming and Beacon Hill Park next to it is so beautiful (we visited in Spring). The breakfast was also really great and the Chef came to our tables to personally ask if everything was to our liking and even gave us recommendations on where we can go next. Definitely recommend for your next stay in Victoria!

What appealed first and formost was the stately manor and where it was located on Dallas and Cook overlooking a wide span w of the ocean, on walking trails and close to cook village. There was convenient free parking on the property. The people working in manor were very welcoming, and accommodating. The manor was beautifully decorated in period furnishings and very clean, did NOT have the old funky smells usually found with old unkept buildings. The breakfast room was cheery and the breakfasts varied day to day prepared by a chef. There were refreshments, water bottles and cookies and the most delicious French apple cake for snacks.

This B&B offers a good breakfast and fresh baked goods are offered throughout the day as well as bottled water and soft drinks, coffee & tea. Once of the drawbacks is that air conditioning is not available and streets around the B&B are very busy with vehicles and having windows opened makes it very noisy. Very few restaurants are located near the establishment. A beautiful pathway is accessible just across the street to walk along the shoreline. Staff are extremely nice and offer excellent service!

One of the most enjoyable aspects of our stay in Victoria were the walks through Beacon Hill Park (which is adjacent to Dashwood) among squirrels, ducks and peacocks.

Dashwood Manor Seaside B&B lived up to its high rating! From the moment we walked onto the beautiful property and entered the front door, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our room was larger than we expected, the balcony had a fabulous view, and the breakfasts were delicious with large portions. In fact, our favorite meal during our 3-day visit to Victoria was the French Toast breakfast at Dashwood! Oh - can't forget the four kinds of tasty, homemade cookies available to guests every single day. Lots of welcoming touches to make our stay memorable.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Dyson was fabulous! Breakfast was sufficient and abundant; however, quality was low (cheap white bread/cheap sausage). The service was quick and friendly and the setting was lovely. Our room was as described with a lovely seaside view and breeze and the staff was extremely friendly and organized. The area to make tea/coffee and enjoy a snack was most helpful as well. The one main point would be that for the price of the stay, the entrance has the potential to be stunning and the gardens are terribly overgrown. A fix there would make all the difference. Thanks again!

Tout était parfait. L'arrivée autonome très claire, les lieux très propres et l'emplacement vraiment génial. Le déjeuner était bon, beaucoup de commodités disponibles et même le matin où nous partions à l'aéroport et ne pouvions pas déjeuner sur place, ils nous ont mis un parfait au yogourt et aux fruits frais pour emporter dans le réfrigérateur de la chambre. Belle petite attention.

Le déjeuner était bon, beaucoup de commodités disponibles et même le matin où nous partions à l'aéroport et ne pouvions pas déjeuner sur place, ils nous ont mis un parfait au yogourt et aux fruits frais pour emporter dans le réfrigérateur de la chambre. The location is perfect for those who prefer being away from city noise and activity, and also enjoy having extensive seaside trails and park trails to explore and enjoy. The Tudor Room was perfect as a solo traveler and nice to be on the corner of the building away from street noise. The interior of Dashwood Manor has a lovely feel and look of an old Victoria manor house. Plenty of hot water for showers/baths and love having a bar sink, counter and mini fridge in the room. The breakfast is excellent and there are drinks and snacks available in the dining room 24/7. Service is excellent and friendly and the view from the dining room of the Olympics is a great start to the day. Walking through Beacon Hill Park into Victoria center is very enjoyable with tons of different paths to choose from and all kinds of activities and gardens along the way. If you are stealthy, you might spot a fawn feeding in the brush as I did.

Beautiful character home B&b in Victoria. Perfect location for a quick visit. Breakfast was also very good. The only complaint we had was that there are no room darkening blinds on the windows so we were awake very early due to that. Other than that it was a great stay and even provided storage for our bikes.
Beautiful character home B&b in Victoria. Perfect location for a quick visit. Breakfast was also very good. The only complaint we had was that there are no room darkening blinds on the windows so we were awake very early due to that. Other than that it was a great stay and even provided storage for our bikes.
