We had a fabulous stay and felt very welcomed! Breakfast was fabulous , the ambiance outstanding and a beautiful area to be in.The only issue we had was that the room was chilly and we could not adjust the heat.

Stand up fan in room not working and I told them at 6pm that I would like a working fan as the room was hot. I was told that someone would come and look at it. Nobody came and there is no one available unless it’s an emergency after 7pm. So the room was hot and it was hot during the night. Couldn’t keep the balcony doors open as had a little dog and no rails on deck. My husband told them that we wanted room service for breakfast and was advised we could have it delivered at 945. No one asked us what we wanted for breakfast. The next morning I called and had to leave a message. No return call. We decided to go to the dining room since we hadn’t heard back by 9am. They told us at breakfast that they charged our credit card for $10 the previous evening for room service for breakfast but they would refund the money through the card. The patio wasn’t open for happy hour even though it was a beautiful day. Happy hour was inside. They served a lovely dish of nuts. The staff are lovely but there are only 2 of them and they do everything from check you in, serve you drinks, cook your breakfast, be the wait staff in the dining room and check you out.

Tucked away near the marina north of downtown Sidney you'll find a jewel of a guest inn. Owner Michael is the host and shines making sure guests have nice rooms, convenient access, wonderful breakfasts and afternoon social hours. Things to know. The property is in a sad state of repair and management. My fireplace didn't work. The TV could only get local channels. The shower was not setup well resulting in having to hug the wall to get under the water. I never did figure out how to heat or cool the rooms. While the breakfast was good, the muffins were stale and there was no de-caffeinated coffee. There is no one site after 6:00 PM. We were so very disappointed. Will not be back.

Beautiful old building that needs some TLC especially on the outside areas. Inside it could use some help with estetics such as less fake looking plastic plants. Very comfy bed Breakfast was so so;definitely not quite what we expected. Could be an amazing property with afew changes. I’m sure it was fantastic at its prime.

Staff tried their best. Breakfast was great. Very friendly. Interior has a musty smell suggesting carpets should go. Bathrooms need a deep clean and updates to pipes. When I run the water the first water is brown then goes clear.

This hotel has good points and bad points. It is quaint and the common areas a clean but our bathroom was in rough shape with peeling paint, a poor shower head that i was difficult to get under, a very dirty fan and pretty old tiles. There was also no air con in our room.

We ask a few questions about the main attractions there and the employee knew nothing. I asked if he lived here and he did!! Room was pretty but it was supposed to have a beautiful water view, instead it faced a ton of boat garages and boats docked up. You couldn’t see open water anywhere. Other guests were talking about it too and just as disappointed. We’d booked this location for this reason. The breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about. The hollandaise sauce tasted odd, the muffins were made with some strange ingredients, etc. We’ve stayed in hundreds of b&bs and we didn’t feel the staff was engaged with their customers, no wine or appetizers in the afternoon unless you paid for it. Overall a bit disappointing. Also please provide a trash can in the room. Only one tiny one in the bathroom

The hotel itself was really cool and rustic. The hotel had a bit of an old house smell. Can't really describe it beyond old house smell. Our room however had a distinct smelly foot/sock or smelly dog smell. Keep in mind we were in a pet friendly room so maybe that was why? But the carpet was was very dirty looking and the whole room smelled pretty bad. We opened the windows to get some fresh air but the boat repair next door was running power tools literally all night. I woke up at 2am to some sort of sander/grinder noise. It has amazing potential to be a super romantic spot. The lounge is beautiful and cozy and the man hosting while we were there was so friendly and accommodating. I just had a hard time with the odor and the all night noise from the next door boat repair place.

Excellent hosts, but condition of room below average. Carpet was worn and dirty, in need of deep cleaning or replacement. Room was musty and malodorous, helped somewhat by opening all windows, but a limited option given outdoor temps. Suggest clean linens at least every other day as well as emptying the one very small trash can. Breakfast was well done.

Le Lach Inn est bien situé. J'ai bénéficié d'une belle chambre au rez-de-jardin. L'ambiance est sereine, le décor surranée nous ramène vers le passé, de façon positive. C'est une bonne idée d'afficher les photographies des gens qui ont vécu dans cette maison. On voudrait en voir plus. Le personnel était très affable. Petit bémol, les tapis auraient besoin d'un bon nettoyage en profondeur. Le stationnement est un peu loin. Si on doit prendre la voiture le soir, ceci est un inconvénient.

Our room was wonderful with great windows and views. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with great service. The outdoor was somewhat neglected, especially the patio and landscaping. There was not daily refreshing of the room (no change of towels, emptying the single garbage bin or refilling the container of soap). Overall we enjoyed our stay in this historic hotel.

The Latch in is very comfortable - elegance from an earlier century: large rooms with a comfortable bed and places to sit - a place where you don't mind spending a bit of time. Breakfast is wonderful - adding to the pleasure of your stay.

Very nice place with amazing history. Very clean, staff were amazing. We stayednin the Lady Byng room. Very nice, no A/C so be aware the room will be hot depending on outside temp. Overall an excellent stay !!

The Latch is a great place to stay…when there are no children or babies. I understand the financial necessity of offering accommodation to kids and babies but I don’t think the inn is built for them. Maybe a Holiday Inn type of offering might be better? The walls are very thin. I dodged them this trip but not the last. There is a chance you’ll hear horns of large boats backing out of the yard at the marina next door. It happened at 6:30 am on my last trip but I think it’s rare.

We loved staying at The Latch Inn, the staff and owner made us feel so welcome and the breakfast was amazing. I only wish that the wifi was a bit stronger and that there was a full length mirror in our suite. Thanks so much for having us!

I had to come into town for business but brought along my son and puppy for a night away. The property is absolutely lovely!! The rooms, the grounds and the entire Inn is beautiful. The staff was kind, attentive, polite and professional. I would definitely recommend The Latch Inn and would stay there again...and the breakfast was amazing!!

The Latch Inn is a lovely, charming place with uniquely decorated rooms and a comfortable sitting room. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, staff is attentive and very nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It is an older property so don’t expect brand new. There’s a great restaurant next door at the harbor for dinner.

Superb!! If I could rate higher I would! We arrived early and inquired about leaving our bags so we could explore, instead they went above an beyond to get use our room early. During our Stay we met another travel group and were having such a lovely evening and the staff went above an beyond to make our time more pleasurable. This has easily become one of my top 5 favorites of all time and will travel to Sidney for the sole purpose of staying her!

The 2 managers are very courteous and eager to help. Getting in was a problem, no one answered phone calls or replied to emails. Plumbing is old and very poor instructions on our to use the tub and shower.

How often do you get to stay in an arts & crafts ‘summer home’ from the 1920’s? It’s very close to the ferry and the airport, but it’s quiet and peaceful, and in a nice area for walking.

Property is ideally located about 10 minutes away from the airport, as opposed to going into Victoria proper. It is an older building, with the things that older properties deal with. It's tucked away in a residential area, and you park next door at the condo building lot. If you prefer a full service hotel, then this is not your choice. If you like a quaint, older "home style" buildling, with an excellent breakfast, do it.

Breakfast was excellent . No other meals were available. A six oz glass of wine during happy hour was expensive . $15.99 . The house is very old but has lots of character. and well maintained . Service from the two staff members was excellent.
