Great location right across the road from JR Nikko train station and bus stop. Room and bathroom more spacious than most Japanese hotels however it is a bit run down. In the room the table and chairs need refurbishment, tv remote very old and worn, no bedhead so pillows are up against the wall, no shoehorn, pen and paper, plastic tea cups instead of ceramic mugs. Even the cheapest hotels have the last 3 things. Block out curtains were not actually blocking out all the light. However it was quiet, the onsen is basic but ok, breakfast was also free and ok. Considering the majority of guests were non Japanese ( I was there 4 nights) I'm surprised that only 1 lady seemed to speak good English. I had difficulty understanding how the free parking worked from the man at reception and it wasn't until I took her outside to the machine that she explained how it worked. Written explanation in English that they can give out would be good. Nikko is expensive for accommodation so it was reasonable value.

Across the street from the JR train station and a 5-10 min walk to the centre of town. Simple breakfast but was good for us. Good three pool onsen for a relax in a simple locale. Good place for sleeping while you go see the area.

Nice hotel located right in front of JR station and Tobu station. All of the tour buses start there. There are shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel is modern and clean, tge staff was friendly. The room is spacious and the hotel onsen is nice. The free hot/cold drink in the lobby is a plus. Highly recommended.

The location can't be beat - it is located immediately opposite the Nikko JR station, and a quick 3-minute walk from Nikko Tobu station. The public bath is clean, with a large outdoor onsen that provides a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The room feels somewhat outdated, but clean. However, the bathroom feels damp. I hung some hand-washed undershirts in the bathroom, and they didn't dry overnight, even with the bathroom door open. It was odd considering how dry the air is in Japan. Overall, the location alone is worth the price. I would probably recommend it to the first-timers, but I am tempted to try other options if I return to Nikko next time.

結婚30周年の旅行で2泊3日利用しました。朝食、部屋の広さ、利便性など文句のつけようの無い素晴らしい宿でした。夕食は近隣の居酒屋に行っおた為、ホテル内のレストランは利用しませんでしたが、利用している方も多く見受けられた為、良いのではと想像できました。 敢えて悪かった所は、昨今のレジオネラ騒動の煽りの為か、大浴場の露天風呂利用後に残る塩素臭がキツかったです。最後にシャワーをよく浴びれば良いだけなんですけどね。

This was a great hotel for an overnight in Nikko. Private bathroom in our room with stocked bathroom amenities, large comfy bed for two with a little table and chairs plus a delish breakfast buffet. After a day of sightseeing we enjoyed the Baths.

room had a platform for three mattresses although booked a double and hence no space for anything. everything VERY basic and worn. bathroom atrocious, all plastic walls and floor, a plastic shower curtain that had not been cleaned in a long time. there is what’s optimistically called a lounge: a number of chairs and a coffee/tea machine. however this “lounge” is only open for a few hours in the morning and again a few in the evening. breakfast is also clearly not their strength at this hotel, with a very limited selection of foods neither western nor japanese.

The check-in process was fine, arrived very early and they held our bags until check in time. The room was generally clean but a lot of stains on the floor carpet, shower curtain and torn wall paper. The breakfast was just fine, fairly Japanese as you would expect, staff great in the breakfast area. I have seen the same stains in other reviews (from months ago) and the carpets have not been cleaned (room 315), carpet cleaning is not that difficult. Expect better quality in Japan. The staff at the reception area were great. The staff the the restaurant were terrible, we arrived looking for a table and they shouted at us to get out. I have encountered this in China but not in Japan. We were pushed out of the restaurant, the man then pulled a table across the door and placed a sign stating that they were full. Disgraceful way to treat guests. The two staff in the restaurant should be removed ( incedent 5th Oct 2027) The bar is ok but not open on Sundays, this should be added to the hotel overview notes.

The hotel is generally nice with the old Japanese-European atmosphere and great views of the cute JR station. It's located in a quiet yet convenient part of the town, and the service is great, as well. However, the room we stayed in smelled like sweaty feet and cigarettes, though it was a non-smoking room. We considered asking them to get us a different room, but a bottle of air/fabric freshener temporarily eased the smell, and we decided to stay in the same room. However, I noticed that the entire building, especially the public bath area, had old lingering smell of cigarettes. Other than that, the hotel was great, and I would stay there again if the odor issues were solved.

Property was conveniently located near both train stations, plus bus stations, in this beautiful town. Rooms were spacious and functional with classic (dated) decor. Worked well for our one night stay. Breakfast buffet was included (a first during our travels). The main area of town, plus most sites, were within walking distance (slightly up-hill) or a bus ride away, if preferred.

If you are looking for convenience, this hotel is very close to the train station. It is outdated with no frills. Breakfast came with the stay and was slightly better than a standard continental offering. The rooms are a decent size with small beds and warm blankets. Good for a short stay.

Room clean and functional. Staff handled query by swapping room. Super friendly and helpful. Location 5min walk from station and 30min or 10min by bus from Nikko shrines. No wow factor. Time travel back to 70s colour scheme and materials. Wasn't cheap!

The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the station, which was very convenient for us. Everything was comfortable and pleasant. Our only suggestions would be to improve the Wi-Fi signal in the rooms and to serve the boiled eggs warm instead of cold at breakfast.

スタッフの方々皆さん親切でお部屋もキレイで気持ち良い滞在でした。 駅からすぐで、近くにレンタカーのお店も多く観光の拠点に最適です。生憎滞在中大雨だったのですが、貸傘も沢山あったしレンタカー借りてホテルの駐車場に置かせてもらえたのでずぶ濡れにならずに済みました。 お風呂もぬる湯・あつ湯・露天風呂とあって、まだまだ寒い3月終わりの宿泊、たっぷりお風呂浸からせてもらいました。朝から露天風呂入れて幸せでした。 気になる点としてはWiFiが不安定すぎでほとんど使えなかった点です。観光の予定を立てるのにネットが不安定だとツラかったです。 あと、周辺は夜食事できるところがかなり限られているので、レストランがもう少し充実していたらかなり助かると思いました。子連れで普通に食事できるメニューがもっと欲しかったです。 もうひとつ、コンビニが少し離れたところにあるので、軽いスナックやちょっとした日用品を置いている売店コーナーがホテル内にあると助かるなーと思いました。

You dont stay here because its the newest or cleanest hotel. Although it was clean enough for us. You stay here because it is super convenient. Two minute walk from Tobu-Nikko station and the same for several rental car companies. The staff is friendly and helpful and you also get a decent free breakfast to start your day. I would stay here again if I'm in Nikko.

The check-in process was fine, arrived very early and they held our bags until check in time. The room was generally clean but a lot of stains on the floor carpet, shower curtain and torn wall paper. The breakfast was just fine, fairly Japanese as you would expect, staff great in the breakfast area. I have seen the same stains in other reviews (from months ago) and the carpets have not been cleaned (room 315), carpet cleaning is not that difficult. Expect better quality in Japan. The staff at the reception area were great. The staff the the restaurant were terrible, we arrived looking for a table and they shouted at us to get out. I have encountered this in China but not in Japan. We were pushed out of the restaurant, the man then pulled a table across the door and placed a sign stating that they were full. Disgraceful way to treat guests. The two staff in the restaurant should be removed ( incedent 5th Oct 2027) The bar is ok but not open on Sundays, this should be added to the hotel overview notes.

The staff had difficulty communicating in English but we managed to get the communication across. The public bath facility was available on the property and was good. The public transportation stop was just next to the hotel that helped in moving around in the Nikki area.

Nice hotel located right in front of JR station and Tobu station. All of the tour buses start there. There are shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel is modern and clean, tge staff was friendly. The room is spacious and the hotel onsen is nice. The free hot/cold drink in the lobby is a plus. Highly recommended.

The location can't be beat - it is located immediately opposite the Nikko JR station, and a quick 3-minute walk from Nikko Tobu station. The public bath is clean, with a large outdoor onsen that provides a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The room feels somewhat outdated, but clean. However, the bathroom feels damp. I hung some hand-washed undershirts in the bathroom, and they didn't dry overnight, even with the bathroom door open. It was odd considering how dry the air is in Japan. Located directly next to JR Nikko station and downhill from Tobu-Nikko station, so easy to get to. Has its own onsen and a good breakfast Western buffet. Otherwise dine out. Rooms are somewhat small and older, but good beds. Pro tip: all the buses start at JR Nikko station, so if you get on there you are guaranteed to get a seat.

日光駅周辺に思ったよりホテルがない中、こじんまりとしていて綺麗なホテルでとても良かったです。 夕食も提携しているフードコートのようなところに連れて行ってもらえて助かりました。 ただ、プランについていた朝食バイキングを楽しみにしていたのですがおかずが何もないちょっと物足りないものだったのでそこがとても残念でした。

スタッフの方々皆さん親切でお部屋もキレイで気持ち良い滞在でした。 駅からすぐで、近くにレンタカーのお店も多く観光の拠点に最適です。生憎滞在中大雨だったのですが、貸傘も沢山あったしレンタカー借りてホテルの駐車場に置かせてもらえたのでずぶ濡れにならずに済みました。 お風呂もぬる湯・あつ湯・露天風呂とあって、まだまだ寒い3月終わりの宿泊、たっぷりお風呂浸からせてもらいました。朝から露天風呂入れて幸せでした。 気になる点としてはWiFiが不安定すぎでほとんど使えなかった点です。観光の予定を立てるのにネットが不安定だとツラかったです。 あと、周辺は夜食事できるところがかなり限られているので、レストランがもう少し充実していたらかなり助かると思いました。子連れで普通に食事できるメニューがもっと欲しかったです。 もうひとつ、コンビニが少し離れたところにあるので、軽いスナックやちょっとした日用品を置いている売店コーナーがホテル内にあると助かるなーと思いました。

The staff was always very helpful and curtious, more than willing to go out of their way to accommodate within reason. Although booking through Expedia gave me a good rate on the room, breakfast was an additional 2500 yen per morning of use. That being said the breakfast was very good and worth the amount and then some.
