Hotel Ootaki

Super séjour dans cet hôtel. Le service était très réactif. Le onsen public est incroyable (un bain intérieur et un bain extérieur) Le onsen privé est très bien aussi. Les chambres sont grandes et calmes.

I found this Onsen and an excellent offer from Expedia. I wasn’t sure what to expect at such a low price and some mixed reviews. I loved it here and it exceeded my expectations. I dropped off my luggage early and walked the area until check in. Since it is across the river and a bit of a walk from the train station, it was so peaceful and beautiful away from others. I found a town footpath that overlooked the river gorge, a suspension bridge, and interesting decaying resorts from the economic boom downfall of the 90’s. A photographers’ paradise. The resort seems to be going through a renovation. The room was very large and had living spaces with tatami mats. Oh yes, your room key opens a wooden locker near reception for you to place your shoes- wear socks. Beds were not futons but mattresses on floor. The mini fridge was great. I didn’t even use the bath in the room because the onsen was clean and wonderful. An outdoor bath looks out on a wooded area and is divine. The shower area has great hair and soap products. I had difficulty finding it at first because the instructions are a bit vague with arrows, but if you look for the out building next to and behind you’ll find it easily. Had to walk on plywood boards placed for the renovation and a rock path up to step so be aware. Yukata and slippers are provided. There are two massage chairs and multiple vending machines. I highly recommend staying here.

Very nice hotel with huge rooms. Very fast wifi. The onsen was a big indoor and nice outdoor one too. Dont mention about your tatoo and youre ok. Hotel shuttle bus with schedule cheap Ride to train station

繁華街から少し離れてしまっているが、概ね良かったと思います。大浴場が、外にしかなかったのが、少し残念でした。

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ootaki. It is Like 15 Minutes by feet from the Station and a Konbini is 8 minutes away. You can walk to many bridges with beatiful views. The Room was clean an very big. We enjoyed the private Onsen every evening (They got 2). Public Onsen ist also accessible for free, but since we got Tattoos we only used the private ones. Highly Recommend this one!

The room was huge, wifi was fast and usable in room. Had no restaurant but the hotel had a little free onsen. Price was cheap. But the town is not so alive, nearest convienence store was like 10 mins away. And is far from station.

The rooms was satisfactory but old as the hotel has an 80’s feel to it. Room was kept but we weren’t sure how long it had been since it was used. Our biggest problem was we killed over 15 Japanese beetles flying through the room all night. Harmless but gross.

Booked it due to its reasonable room rate for a relatively big tatami room. It is a traditional hotel and room is spacious for couples. It's cleanliness is of high standard recommended 👍

部屋の浴槽に髪の毛が大量に残っていて、確実に清掃がされていない状態でした。最悪でした。

館内は清潔で、受付の対応も早く、離れの温泉のロッカーもきれいでした。

宿泊は満足したが、唯一つ、浴場にムカデが居た。防虫を行って頂きたい。

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Ootaki and would definitely return. The hotel is very traditional and gives you a real insight into traditional Japanese culture. Although the staff had limited English, this was not a problem for us and they were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel has lots of freebies as part of their service including combs, hairbrushes, shower caps, razors etc. The onsen was very relaxing and the hotel was clean.

一部棚上の埃や古い箇所も見受けられたが、滞在エリアはらどこも新しく綺麗で良かった。

We stayed in a standard room, tatami-style, with mattresses on the floor. The room was large with nice views. The hotel itself feels quite dated and front desk staff are not there all day, which is quite challenging if you want to drop luggage off early, etc. If you are using this as a base for Nikko, it takes nearly an hour by train.

ホテルに何も求めない方は良いと思います。しかし、朝食の予約はチェックイン時にしかできないにもかかわらず説明がまったくありませんでした。 姉妹宿の日帰り入浴についてもフロントに問い合わせたら電話口で面倒くさそうに対応されたと感じました。おもてなしを感じたい方は正直利用しない方が良いと思います。

部屋は広くゆっくり過ごせました。 フロントにスタッフの方が不在で少し困りました。 ベルを鳴らしても誰もみえないようで 鍵を受け取りたかったので待つしかなく待ちました。 他の宿泊客も数名待っていました。

Not much assistance when transport was needed

Unfortunately our stay here was ruined by a very rude young man at check in. No manners very rude and unhelpful so would not recommend anything about this place at all. This young man should not be working here. The tatami in room was covered in human black hair (not mine) Very outdated inefficient air conditioning and no washlets in room. Note the two older employees were friendly and courteous

Everything was good except the staff didn’t give us the option to use the onsen facility of their sister hotel. He just told us the onsen facility at this hotel was closed. I didn’t know until I read about it on the website of the hotel the next morning, but I found out too late. There wasn’t enough time to go. They could have told us.

Although staff doesn't speak English, they are helpful, google translate is good. The hotel is a bit out of the way, there is a 7 11 closed by. The room is nice and big and very quiet. I booked a private bath and it is perfect. For the price i have no issue.

We really enjoyed staying here, the onsen was so relaxing and beautiful. Some of the staff were very nice and sweet, others were kind of rude. Its also very quiet and safe around the hotel so we liked that. It was hard to find a restaurant within 20 minutes walking that was open for dinner, but we met a sweet auntie who told us where to find good food. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Kinugawa

Beautiful hotel, not many local restaurants and poorly lit area making it difficult to find in the dark on foot.

Hotel antiguo. El Honsen lo mejor que da al bosque. Lo peor no saben nada de inglés y pocos servicios gratis. No ofrecen ni café, ni agua, ni nada. Lo mejor la habitación amplia.

周り、ホテル内に飲食店、土産物店が無い

4人で宿泊しました。1人税金サービス料など込みで1.8万円以内。素泊まりで食事は一切なし。事前に地元のスーパーでお弁当や飲み水を買って行きました。ティーバッグやインスタントコーヒーもありませんでした。この値段ですから致し方なしですが、風呂施設は安心して使えました。泉質も良くサラサラ、湯上がり後はしっとりツルツル。到着後と出発前に入浴しました。フロントチェックイン後はお構いなし。帰りも部屋の鍵をDropboxに入れてアウト。確かにビジネスホテルでした。
