This property is a historic building, so it’s very special. The views are unbeatable, the staff is exceptionally accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed our stay. There is one downside, which is it is a bit hard to find and not all the taxi drivers know the location and how to get to the entrance. Once you know, it is a great find.

Wow! What a property, packed with history and antiques to delight. Our suite was the Lola suite, aptly named as we have a dog called Lola. A large lounge, bedroom and bathroom to delight. It was a genuine home from home, the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was something else... taken on a balcony overlooking the river with an amazing view. Check the photos for fine details of the interior with all its art and furniture. 100 percent will be our future go to place in Lisbon and a perfect location, surrounded by the areas bars and restaurants so there is something for everyone. Thank you to the team for your friendly service.

Great location, fantastic facility with so much history. Wonderful breakfast and the rooms were spacious. It was a treat to have such a wonderful terrace to use for any number of purposes. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Lovely, lovely venue. With only six suites they provide a personal level of service that is outstanding. The charming older building is well maintained and nicely furnished, with high ceilings an outdoor terrace overlooking the river. An excellent breakfast is included. A stunning unusual historic quirky masterpiece of a hotel. The service provided by the staff was uncommon and outstanding, never had such concerned and helpful staff in a hotel. The included breakfast was phenomenal. Really the best that Lisbon has to offer. the Alfama neighborhood is the perfect location. But be prepared for a walking and climbing and walking and climbing, and walking and climbing.

The staff are very professional and display excellence in hospitality. The breakfasts were delicious and varied and could be enjoyed on the terrace. The scenic views of Lisboa were lovely and in the residence they were dramatic. The palace is maintained immaculately.

Staff rates highest praise, being helpful and efficient. Not adequately disclosed in listing is that property must be styled inconveniently located, accessible through an uphill alley and flight of 25 steps. (Staff offered to assist up the stairs upon arrival.) After arrival, room was accessed up two floors on a tight spiral staircase, 27 additional steps. From the room, a terrace is only accessible by another open cast iron staircase of many steps. In general, the hotel may be described as "Kitch," with mixture of antique, vintage and bizarre appointments, oddly arranged within an historic building. Complimentary continental breakfast was good. Best feature probably was a huge walk-in shower that could easily bathe 6 persons at once. Plainly, the appeal of this hotel is to a younger crowd, definitely not elderly nor mobility limited.

Deceptive advertising and not worth the money. While the building is eclectic and curious in its own way, it is not “luxurious”, “exclusive” or “refined”. To get there from our Uber we had to walk through a filthy entrance, strewn with trash and fragrant of urine. I booked one of the more elegant seeming rooms on their website, with hardwood floors and grand windows, but they placed us in a dank attic room three flights up (with to no elevator) with carpet, little light, old unattractive furniture, and no historical detail. They eventually offered to move us, but at this point it was too late in evening to pack up and relocate. The staff are kind and the location in Alfama is convenient, but this is a two star experience with four star prices.

A lovingly restored old palace which keeps its heritage but nods to current-day comfort. The staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast is an added treat. The only thing we found is that the surrounding area is safe but a little shabby … a minor drawback. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it anyone who is looking for authentic charm with a huge splash of luxe.

Do not stay in this hotel! We booked a room for three days. I soon as we checked in, we noticed a bad smell in our room. After 30 minutes we advised the manager the smell was so bad we could not stay there. The manager agreed there was a smell in the room, but said the refund was up to the top management. We left the hotel only to learn later that the hotel has a no refund policy and refused to give us any refund! In addition, the hotel looks nothing like the pictures. It is old and rundown like a grandma house.

Our room, Lola, is a work of art and so very spacious, with all the amenities to create a very comfortable stay. The view from the balcony is quite nice, and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the road. Antonio, and the entire staff, are very welcoming and helpful with any request. We could not have selected a more pleasant location which is within walking distance of several great restaurants and wine bars.

Service is most welcoming and warm, hotel and it's rooms are absolutely stunning (we stayed in Amaya-room with the balcony and riverside view) and breakfast is unique every morning, prepared just for us and using local ingredients. Lovely "boutique" hotel close to the cruise terminal. Staff were all very welcoming, great breakfast (loved the Greek yogurt) and room was huge with lots of windows - great stay - thank you!

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Stunning building, an incredible room with a private balcony. The breakfast was prefect. The staff were great. Always giving great advice on where to go and where to eat. Only six bedrooms in the whole building. It’s a hidden gem. A must.

Wow! What a property, packed with history and antiques to delight. Our suite was the Lola suite, aptly named as we have a dog called Lola. A large lounge, bedroom and bathroom to delight. It was a genuine home from home, the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was something else... taken on a balcony overlooking the river with an amazing view. Check the photos for fine details of the interior with all its art and furniture. 100 percent will be our future go to place in Lisbon and a perfect location, surrounded by the areas bars and restaurants so there is something for everyone. This is not like any hotel I have ever stayed at. This was more like going home and visiting family. Tiago and Chevier (probably spelled wrong) went out of their way to take care of us. We traveled far and were exhausted when we arrived before 10am. They quickly offered us breakfast while we waited for our room to be cleaned. They granted us entry to the room quickly. This is an older large home converted to a hotel with rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the front facing suite. It was comfortable and had every amenity possible. I would stay here again and again. The breakfast was amazing and fresh juice and pastries can’t be beat. Breakfast on the terrace was like being in a movie. I chose the ride from the airport to the hotel by the driver service that they offered as I have read other drivers have had trouble finding it. It was a great experience all the way around.

This property is a historic building, so it’s very special. The views are unbeatable, the staff is exceptionally accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed our stay. There is one downside, which is it is a bit hard to find and not all the taxi drivers know the location and how to get to the entrance. Once you know, it is a great find.

A lovingly restored old palace which keeps its heritage but nods to current-day comfort. The staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast is an added treat. The only thing we found is that the surrounding area is safe but a little shabby … a minor drawback. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it anyone who is looking for authentic charm with a huge splash of luxe.

They should also set out a bar or wine and beer and some snacks each afternoon. Asked for breakfast the night before at 7:20 one morning and had to leave for a tour without eating because it was not ready. While we enjoyed our stay, it is certainly not at the 5 star level. With a little staff training, menu adjustments and some additional amenities they could get close.
