Inadequate kitchen utensils/crockery/pots No shelf in shower No basin plug No coat hangers in wardrobe

Although the unit was clean and tidy there were limited facilities: e.g. no stove elements or saucepans to cook breakfast and didn't enjoy having to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. I also found the steps up to the unit a bit dangerous and I cut my heel on one of the steps when coming down. A stand to put suitcases on would be good and some hangers in the wardrobe. Otherwise all ok thanks for the opportunity to stay at Twin Peaks, Taupo.

Twin Peaks Lakeside Inn is in a good location with water views of the lake. The Mangaers were pleasant and delt with a couple of issues obligingly and quickly. The cleanliness of the room could of been better as all table surfaces were dirty. Shower is quite high up off the ground so would be difficult for elderly to get in an out of safely as there are no handles to hold on to. The shower base was also extremely slippery. There is also laundry facility which is free to use.

Staff very friendly, use of washer / dryer was really helpful.

Great view of the lake. Easy parking. Nice comfortable bed. Decent couch that was also comfortable. Good spa bath in bathroom. Shower was terrible, kept going ice cold, then burning hot every 10seconds. Not sure if neighbouring room using their water affects it or not but needs to be sorted. Great location.

Good location. Parking was a long way from room. Access stairs right behind the restaurant/bar. No new towels or bed made each morning.

Great location, and amazing food down at the Jolly good Fellow restaurant. Lovely crispy clean sheets and beautiful white towels. Shower out dated cubicle with bad water pressure. Faucet in bathroom wobbled off its stand, mirror - had to look sideways to view self, hairdryer needs updating. no sink to wash dishes. Offered a locked room to store our E-Bikes which was great.

The room was clean and tidy, but if you don't like washing your dishes in the bathroom basin, this is not for you. Very limited cutlery and meal prep facilities, but it is understandable for the price and description in advertisements.

Yes, the kitchen was fully equipped with an electrical stove but cooking wasn’t allowed for some reason. Windows were too small for the bedroom so airflow wasn’t adequate for three people sleeping in there with the door shut. It was very hot and stuffy.

There is a laundry but NO INSTRUCTIONS Re how to use the washing machine and the power plug wasn’t working!!!

The room was spotless with everything you need in a self contained space. Staff lovely and helpful. Bonus is a great pub Nextdoor that will deliver food to you. Also right on the lake .

The photos of the rooms looked great but our room wasn’t clean especially the spa bath. The sink was so tiny in the bathroom. Curtain rail kept falling off the wall too. Did have a good location

Check in staff friendly and efficient. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was grubby, mould on back of curtains, cobwebs in bathroom, carpet not well vacuumed. Skirting boards and unit in bathroom dirty. Furniture in room was old and tatty. Reception was not open at 7.30 am when we left so I was not able to discuss with staff.

The room was ok, the only down fall we notice on the day we were leaving hairs on the carpet like bunch and also hairs on the grey blanket used, it is a really nice place to stay but cleanliness of it was poor sorry for the late reply.

We been to spend a night and found room with full of mosquitoes on the ceiling, die mosquitoes on the bed/pillows. Bathroom wall is full of mosquitoes. Terrible experience. It`s worst ever room I have been too. Very Very low standards. I reached Taupo late night and have no options to change it. I have to wake full night to look after kids that mosquitoes not bit them around. This should has to report to local Council to look into the hygiene standards of this Inn. Never ever recommend anyone to stay here.

The photos of the property did not match the actual room. The whole room needs a makeover, power points not working, heaters, electric blankets not working. Microwave not cleaned out had previous peoples food left in there. Shower soaps empty. Dirty linen on sofa bed, sofa bed was so uncomfortable can feel the springs. The price was not worth it.

Nice location, but the room had a pretty funky smell and cleanliness is obviously not a priority. A lot of hair in the bathroom floor, a whole lot of dust, marks on the pillowcase. Staff were nice, but unfortunately not somewhere I would stay again. Sorry!!

We have stayed at this property every year in August for many years and have always found the staff friendly and helpful . It has always been clean and comfortable.

Customer service was good but everything else was far from it. The room was disgusting! Mold on the walls in the shower, uncleaned benches and surfaces. Room smelt funny, shower definitely wasn’t cleaned with old soap and hairs over the mixer. Really didn’t feel comfortable enough to “ make my self at home “ here.

The floors and beds had dead insects on them. There was a duck / bird poo on the floor in the middle of the room. The cups weren't cleaned properly and no replacement face cloths. I wont be staying there again

Rooms were clean & tidy Comfy beds Even tho close to a main road we didnt hear the road noise. Amazing view of the lake and the mountains.

The property was walking distance to central Taupo. Unusual layout of kitchen and bathroom areas. Pub backs onto the property and was noisy at times. Comfy bed, aircon and good water pressure in the shower.

This hotel is ok for a night, the bed was comfortable and clean, the room was clean just very minimal cheap furniture. All felt very budget.

We booked a king bed lake view room. The room was spacious and tidy, with a small kitchenette. The room was very clean. The water pressure in the shower was very good. The view was amazing, we could open the curtains and watch the word go by while having our morning coffee. I would happily book and stay again. Just a couple of suggestions - there was only 1 bedside table so I had to put all my things on the ground by the bed. A second bedside table would’ve been handy. There is a window in the kitchen that doesn’t have a blind. While it was ok for us as the sun is rising later due to it being winter and we needed to be up early, I can imagine the room gets very bright in summer.

This Inn is right next to a Pub, our room was right beside the Pub's Kitchen, so was not happy with my room allocation. Could hear people in the Kitchen and the Pub until it closed, then could hear staff leaving. Think we got the worst room at the Inn!

We arrived late, but as we let them know in advance they left the heat pump on leaving the room toasty and warm on arrival

Our room was situated right behind a bar and restaurant that stayed open till midnight and was extremely noisy till late into the night. When I approached the motel manager he was rude and accused me of moaning about things as if it was something you should just put up with paying well over $200 per night Do not stay there

Office guy was rude - room was great size furniture needs update- was not clean walls had marks down them bathroom area had not been cleaned properly .

Staff who welcomed us were warm and helpful.

We were there for Ironman NZ. The guy on Reception, RJ, was superb. Sourced a cooking element and a pan for breakfast and took care of a few other requests we had without breaking sweat. He made the stay so easy. Highly recommended.

We were late arriving as my car had broken down and the Manager had tried contacting me but didn’t have my mobile through wotif… so on arriving the reception was closed. It was 8.40pm. I phoned the reception number and she kindly explained they had tried but knew I’d be coming and left my room open with the key inside. I just needed my rooms number. No issue. Totally thoughtful and kind in sorting out my room even though I was late checking in. Was pleasant and understanding on the phone and sympathetic. A lovely experience.

The staff were extremely helpful as we locked out keys in our car, so allowed us to use a downstairs unit while waiting for a locksmith to come this made our departure less stressful as it was pouring down with rain as well Thank you Twin Peaks hope to visit again Cheers Dot & Mike

$550 cash STOLEN from my zipped up wallet in a zipped up bag that was kept IN THE HOTEL ROOM! The purse inside the bag never left the hotel room during our 2 night stay and everything was locked if we went out. We also had "no" room servicing which was supposed to happen daily, No new towels or anything. Obviously someone from sevice had gone into our locked room and taken the cash and not done any room service to make it look as if no one had entered the property... We told the reception/manager and told there is nothing they can do. they were very rude wouldnt show us cameras ( she didnt know how to work them)... they said to leave details and once they looked at the cameras they will call us. They rang 15 min after our departure to say there is NO cameras so nothing we can prove and it was all on us our responsibility. I am a solo mother of 2 under 3 and this was my first weekend away in a long time. All the cash i had saved up to spend on presents for my kids bday and my bday (this weekend). was STOLEN FROM TWIN PEAKS LAKESIDE INN! I CRIED the whole trip home and this incidence has ruined our holdiay.. it wasnt some robbery or break in. It was THE HOTEL or the STAFF and/or CLEANERS that have gone into our room while we were gone and taken $550 cash out of my wallet in my bag in a locked room! Then say to us its your probelm we have no cameras!!! So so sad! A great weekend in taupo. Our stay.here. Horribel service, security at TWIN PEAKS LAKESIDE INN! Im DEVASTATED

An earlier stay on other side of property encouraged us to stay again on way home from trip despite thinking we had booked same accomadation we were shown to a different side area .Check in was not pleasant .on entering room smelt .usty .faded pink polar fleece down end of bed .cobwebs around air conditioner .As we had business in Taupo left our bags and returned some hours later.Black mould in corners of windows .bath not clean .bath surrounds peeling.taps an handles encrusted with rust .couldnt get tv to work properly curtains well past prime .Went out to dinner at nearby restaurant .when we got back discovered used condom on floor when we moved a bed side table for better access .On complaining to reception got the its a cheap room what do you expect attitude .we were somewhat surprised it seemed same rate as other stay .She accompanied us to room with as much bad grace as possible .When shown condom she said what do you want me to do about it ?do you want me to remove it .????After a very unpleasant exchange we were made to feel our expectations re cleanliness to high. It was a cleaner not doing her job .we persisted although told no other vacancies but were eventually given another room .constantly being made to feel we were unreasonable.My husband raised his voice admittedly trying to explain issues but the owner who was called kept referring to us kiwis who wanted things for nothing and basically accused 2.72 year olds of planting black mould and condom

We had a stopover driving to Auckland and stayed in this motel. The man on reception was helpful. The motel room was in need of an update. However the bed was very comfortable and we slept well despite the noise from the music in the pub at the front of the property. We had a view of the lake and there was onsite parking.

Very convenient to town, Pub next door, lake across road, easy check in, beds are comfy. Its not a flashy motel but its all u need and always a pleasant stay. Ive stayed hwre quite alot over the years due to its position.

The staff were very helpful. It is very dated but clean and had everything we needed.There is also a restaurant and bar on site that is not owned by the motel, also very nice.

Loved that it was ten minutes walk to township where you could access everything. Property clean and tidy. Though room has kitchenette there was no sink and washing up had to be done in bathroom sink. Great property if you want to just rest and be close to town and eat out. Great that it has a restaurant at front so you can walk from your room to eat.

Good position with a 10 minute walk along the lakefront to the shops. The restaurant in front of the motel ("Jolly Good Fellows") is very good - I had lambs fry and bacon and my wife had chowder, both of which were excellent and generous. The motel is of an older style refurbished. We had room 808 which looked out over the lake and was set up with accessibility features. The bathroom was therefore spacious but the lounge/kitchen/bedroom was a bit cramped. The second bedroom was useful for luggage storage.

Well priced, great location and the benefit of a pub/restaurant attached.

The jolly good fellow restaurant next door is very good and convenient. Walking distance to the CBD.
