Our check in didn't come over from hotels.com, but the staff made up for it - able to accommodate us last minute in a way that worked for us (or offer to find another room at another hotel). Up the hill a little bit - amazingly quiet.

Nice little place. Read the fine print of your booking details. We got off the ferry and wanted to walk through town, hotel will pay for a taxi shuttle to the hotel. However, if you don’t use that one, they will not pay for a return one. We had an issue with the outdoor lights coming into our room the first night, we texted the desk the next morning and they said they could turn it off by 10 pm thankfully. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay. I don’t recommend staying on one of the end units, you can hear the golf carts running all night.

My daughter and I had a nice stay. We liked the kitchen and the room was well kept. It was definitely walkable if you don’t mind a little bit of a steep hill. I was glad we got a courtesy taxi ride there as it would have been trickier to bring our bags up the hill. Just go to the taxi stand at the ferry landing and tell them you are headed to Terado Terrace. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. There wasn’t always someone at the frot kiosk but a text brought quick service.

It would be nice if they supplied a copy of town map. AAlso upon arrival it was impossible to get taxi/cart in a timely manner. We finally had a kind lady give us a ride to the inn.

Room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Appliances were dated but worked and everything else in the room has been updated. Staff was very accommodating. Appreciated the free taxi from the dock when we arrived. We enjoyed our stay.

What a nice find for Jazz Festival opening weekend. We took full advantage of the patio and barbecue grill, loved our view from #6. Ivan and staff were all helpful and friendly, the room was roomy and functional.

We were supposed to just leave our luggages and was able to check in early so that was a relief! Staff was great! Room had a fridge, microwave, stove, pots and pans, plates and cups, kcups for coffee, and a TV. Outside area has a grilling station and cute hangout spot. It was also clean! Would come back here again.

We rented at room with two queen beds and a small kitchen. The the walls are a bit thin so you can hear some muffled noise of other people. Didnt bother us with the AC fan on to mask the very quiet setting. One day some guys were up at 7am talking in loud voices outside but that is par for the course. We shopped at Vons and had a nice BBQ on the upper landing. A bit of an effort walking up the hill. Rented bikes to ride to botanical garden and did a snorkel at lovers cove. Lovely place, we'd stay there again.

Check-in was simple although we did need to call a local number posted to inform them we were checking in. They upgraded our room so it was nice having the next space and kitchen. The hotel doesn't have any other amenities (fitness center, breakfast, nor pool) but overall, I would definitely stay here again.

The stay was not the best it was not clean at all very down graded and dirty. Not comfortable to sleep either. Very stuffy even with AC and fans running. We would not stay here again. It smelled like weed the whole time as well.

This place is not bad, and may even stay here in the future. The main cleanliness issue relates to the ceiling in 102. The roof is visibly bubbling and orange goo was falling on the floor in the middle of the room. We just made a conscious point to not step on it. When we woke up the pile of goop had grown much more. The bathroom mirror was broken, and some mold was present, but not concerning amount... It's the small amount we all struggle with in home in southern California bathrooms. The bed was clean and comfortable. I would recommend the place if you're looking to save some money.

Very clean, spacious room. It is an older building, but they have done great job keeping it updated. We never met or saw an employee, but our room keys were marked and available for pickup at the check-in window. We had a nice view of the ocean from our room. Everything in Avalon is easily walkable.

The overall stay was nice. It was quite, neighboring guest were respectful as well. Cleaning staff was accommodating and efficient. The only issue we had was that there were baby roaches found in the microwave, counter, and in the shower. If this wasn’t an issue I would have rated 5 stars because everything else was great for the days we were there.

This hotel was booked last minute so we were grateful for the availability. The room was extremely clean. For the price, we have no complaints. It was nice having a kitchen although we ended up not cooking but having the refrigerator was a plus. The staff are very kind, and helpful and responsive. We would stay there again, however, it is worth noting that this hotel is at the top of a very steep hill which can be challenging if walking, but thankfully, the Circuit (Uber equivalent) that is available in Avalon came in very handy!

Air conditioner wasn't working upon arrival, worked on it for 1/2 hour, then waited on staff's "lunch" break to get over for an hour, then finally texted office number with issue, told "be there in a minute, waited another half hour for staff to show up, took yet another 1/2 hour to get running. Woke up Sunday morning to dead cockroach on bathroom floor. but pretty nice overall.

The place was great, staff was great. The price was pretty high so expectations were pretty high. My issue was the air conditioner in the rooms upstairs kept tripping the breaker, during the day staff helped and offered to send someone but i got it going and left, over night i didnt sleep at all it was hot in the room and the breaker would trip every 15 minutes after the breaker was reset. There was no windows to leave open only the sliding door, the mesh on the door was ripped so i didnt trust just leaving that door open. My kids were on the other room so i had to keep resetting the breaker. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

Do not pay full price or even close to it for this place. TV did not work. It had to be fixed each day but cable pixelated in the evening. WiFi was too weak to stream anything. I know, who goes to Catalina to watch TV? Well in the evenings after visiting bars and restaurants you may want to do that. Anyway the toilet stuck, the bathroom fan did not work, many plug ins did not work and were old. I moved bed to plug in cpap and saw lots of dust bunnies and a few stains. So here’s the good stuff: the kitchen had nice plates and glasses, the decor was nice, the cleaning staff was nice. The owner/manager was not to be bothered and thought a sign on the registration window excused him from being attentive and of course it is your fault if you do not read the sign. He is busy fixing up the place. Just no this is not worth the money you pay. I’m ok with all the problems if I was paying a discounted rate or was compensated for trouble. But no offer was given and when suggested they did not reply. Please stay somewhere else b

I really wanted to love this property, even with the extremely steep climb to get there with all of our luggage. The staff was very accommodating. But unfortunately, we booked a three bedroom suite and two of those three bedrooms had no power. The breaker continued to trip so there was no air or lighting on the top level. Expedia and the hotel have yet to refund any amount to us after that. I’m extremely disappointed in both Expedia and this hotel. Having no power, no air the middle of July and absolutely no refund is completely unacceptable by both Expedia and this hotel.

The rooms are really good sized for Catalina with a comfortable King Sized bed and well stocked kitchen and pretty quiet area. What they don't tell you : No A/C! No working FAN at all! Slow internet speeds and No view of the ocean. No van to meet you at the dock and it's an upward climb with luggage.

The property pictures were very misleading. Only one unit had a view or a place that you could sit and enjoy Catalina. The downstairs had a good AC. Upstairs and 2 bedrooms was HOT. only portable AC units and it would not cool down. Couldn’t sleep with windows open because all rooms connected by balcony. All sliding glass doors were unlocked when we got there. Said they had good wi-if that could be used through most of town. Find it had to believe as it wouldn’t work in our room. Cable went out last night of stay and no internet in a hot room Would never stay here again and do not recommend.

I believe there is only one person that works here. I got a confirmation call three hours before I was supposed to check in. I told the person that confirmed my reservation what time I would be arriving from the boat. When my mother and I got off the boat we started looking for signs for our pick up. I called the hotel three times and no one answered. My mom and I got lost trying to get to the hotel lucky we asked nice people who gave us directions. When we checked in the guy was kind of rude and told me that I should have left a message because he was probably confirming other people, since no one answered the phone. That didn't sit well with me. As my mom and I kept leaving to do activities there was never a person at the booth. We had to pick up a red phone to call someone every time. As I was leaving at 9:57 since check out is 10:00. I picked up the red phone and told the guy I was ready to check out. He said put the key in the black box and then he hung up the phone. Also my mom did great walking up that big hill to get to the hotel. She's in her 60's and she kept up with me all weekend. When you look it up nothing told me that it was at the top of a hill. Since this was my first time at Catalina for my birthday.

I told the person that confirmed my reservation what time I would be arriving from the boat. When my mother and I got off the boat we started looking for signs for our pick up. I called the hotel three times and no one answered. My mom and I got lost trying to get to the hotel lucky we asked nice people who gave us directions. When we checked in the guy was kind of rude and told me that I should have left a message because he was probably confirming other people, since no one answered the phone. That didn't sit well with me. As my mom and I kept leaving to do activities there was never a person at the booth. We had to pick up a red phone to call someone every time. Will not be staying at El Terado Terrace ever again. Advertise as having 24-hour front desk service. Had to call to get a person to let us into the room. Smoke/fire detector found in a drawer. Had to beg for coffee and then when finally receiving a few pods for the Keurig coffee maker...all three were decaffeinated. Check out was even worse...we had called and left a message an hour prior for pick up and check out...no one called back, we left the key in the room ~ only to receive a call an hour after we left telling us that there was only one key to the room and it was the one that was given to us (this was never mentioned when the key was given). The person that called was rude and accusing. This property is rated a minus 5 on my list!

The staff was not helpful and they were not in the front desk at all times . Trying to call but no answer . The day we left and there was no ride to the terminal but they did come pick us at the terminal for free . The room was full of musty smell as well . Terrible

Very clean, spacious room. It is an older building, but they have done great job keeping it updated. We never met or saw an employee, but our room keys were marked and available for pickup at the check-in window. We had a nice view of the ocean from our room. Everything in Avalon is easily walkable.

Five minutes from main strip; however, you have to get back up the hill to get to this hotel. Five minute walk down, 10 minute steep walk back. Food options are good, lots of great restaurants to pick from.

It was a perfect spot that kept you close to downtown and walkable to everything but was tucked up away on the hill where it was still quiet to go home to. That being said, if you do not wish to use the public transportation to go back home be prepared to walk up the hill it is a little steep. The hotel was nice and cozy it had a comfy bed, great AC and water pressure. The wifi was also strong and steady. Our unit was upstairs; it was not one of the ones with the kitchen in it, however, we did have a mini fridge and a microwave and that was still super helpful as we were still able to get some groceries from the local Vons. We would stay here again as the price point was excellent for the amenities we had l.

I really enjoyed staying here. The view from the balcony was nice, the staff was nice, having a full kitchen saved a lot of money on eating out and it was nice to be able to stay in and relax sometimes. The bed was comfortable, and the little dining area was nice, as was the patio. It is up a fairly steep hill so be prepared to either rent a golf cart or take a hike. It was no problem for me as I really enjoy walking and the view from above also made it worth it. I also enjoyed being a bit away from the noise of the main downtown. I would absolutely stay here again!!

They had a mini blind, no room service provided for 1 day, no transportation from the ferry to hotel unless you ask for a voucher. appliances very old including amenities. For the price of $200 plus per day not worth it.

Check-in was simple although we did need to call a local number posted to inform them we were checking in. They upgraded our room so it was nice having the next space and kitchen. The hotel doesn't have any other amenities (fitness center, breakfast, nor pool) but overall, I would definitely stay here again.
